You clearly don’t understand addiction... Yes she made mistakes, they both have which is to be expected. That doesn’t make her the villain here. She stepped up and made the right choices, which is better than how he’s current methods thus far imo. She would be in serious psychological/mental strains/pains rn after losing a huge part of her soul like under these circumstances. Which I give her props for making those hard choices like that. Stripping a mother’s rights like how he did it is a big NO NO to me. If he had been honest and told her the truth and gain custody that way, that would have been better for him and earned him some desperately needed credibility in the process. Instead, he made her believe it was short term even though he knew otherwise aka calculated deception/intended deceit. Were you even paying attention when you watched this srsly?! And FYI, given the circumstances in that part of Europe rn. Idk if that’s the best/safest place for a developing child. Not to mention that she was the one that looked after her child this whole time until these recent events. There should be grounds for visitations, custody switch, etc... (supervised or otherwise). If he truly wanted the best for their child, these things ought to be common sense at this point tbh aka act civil and mature instead of both of them taking cheap stabs at each other which how these things tends to go unfortunately. If and when she fights this to court (in due course), my money is on her winning custody *hands down* 👌🏼

Having Kaya be with her father was the best decision. Hayden may not have seen it at the time, but a mother with postpartum depression and a severe alcohol addiction CAN NOT adequately take care of a baby, especially if there is another parent (who isn't struggling with those same issues) that can. Yes, it wasn't her idea and she may not have fully wanted it, but giving up custody was what was best for all involved. Hayden wasn't doing too well until recently, with her trying to get sober and being with an abusive partner (not the father of her child btw) we don't know how long she has been sober and regulated (probably with medication) so I doubt that Kaya being with her is better than her being in a safe country with people that love her taking care of her (we know Kaya isn't in the Ukraine, hasn't been for a while). Hypothetically, let's say they share custody. With Hayden's ex's situation (the political entanglements of him and his brother during a time of war) there is a chance that something could happen to him and if it did, Kaya would need her mom to be prepared for what it is to be a mother, which I don't think she would be. Because honestly, I don't think Hayden really fully grasps what it would mean to be a full-time single mother to her daughter, since she never was before. Her stepping into that role would be tremendously overwhelming and could potentially undo all her progress and push her back into addiction. It's definitely heartbreaking to think abut what she is going through, but it is what is best for the kid and even Hayden has to acknowledge that. That doesn't mean it isn't painful. (Also, I acknowledge that Kaya is probably traumatized due to her parents' situation, but I firmly believe that Hayden needed the freedom to step away to get better and if she hadn't, then Kaya's trauma would have been a million times worse) Take all of this with a grain of salt, since I'm going by only the details she and him have shared and I obviously don't know every single detail...

Perhaps from your neck of the woods it’s like that, but dependencies is a very common thing globally and as long as the one aforementioned is being treated by a sanctioned/credible facility/personnel then there are grounds for visitation at least. Statistically, a court of law tends to lean on the biological mother more than the father despite of the mothers shortcomings. Just the fact that she didn’t fight this (for the time being at least) shows to me and no doubt many that she is making the right calls here not only for herself but the child itself until she gets at a more stable position. I’m just not a big fan on the fathers methods of obtaining temp custody here, one does it right from the get go especially if it’s your own child on the line. I truly hope they keep civil and support each other for the benefit(s) of their own child though through this ugly situation rather than taring each other as these cases tends to go unfortunately.

Depression and addiction are two lethal combination. To oneself and to other people. Her addiction forced her to sign those papers. I've been dealing with alcoholism to cope with my depression since I became legally allowed to drink. I'd go to classes in college with liquor in my water bottle. Just abusing alcohol to the point that I feel numb. Within 3 years of drinking I was hospitalized and told that my liver was in danger of failing, among the other illnesses I've developed due to alcohol abuse and I've been on maintenance ever since. And the withdrawal was as painful as needing to drink even though I knew it's life or death for me. Now I only drink religiously on 2 occasions: my birthday and Christmas. But every time it goes down my throat I start to drink heavily again to the point that everyone would stop drinking so that I would have to stop drinking myself. She didn't leave her child, please don't say that. She signed her away because she knew, as how she is/was, she wouldn't be able to be a good mother. This is why people with addiction are committed to rehab centers, because they need to work on themselves and focus on their road to recovery. People who never experienced depression and/or addiction, I envy you. Because this shit is not easy and we deal with this every single day and it's never easy.

You want to know why??? Because women have the pain of growing a baby in the womb!! We go through something you will never understand nor comprehend. I think what she did by giving Wladimir Klitschko custody was the right thing to do as a mother, she was not in a healthy mental space, and wouldn't be right for her daughter to be caught in the middle of what she was going through, she was also in a relationship with someone like Brian Hickerson who was arrested on domestic violence and assault charges, yeah someone you don't want your kids around either. I do wish her well in recovery if she is still on that path.

Just pointing out a double standard here but why in this situation is she deemed noble and brave for choosing to relinquish custody of her child, but when a man does it they’re deemed a deadbeat. Wow as a dad that went through the same thing, that hits home hard. When my little girl was born I was going through a very rough time. I was depressed and i was trying to kick my addiction. My fiance left with my daughter and wanted full custody. I was heartbroken but i knew in the state i was in it was the best thing I could do for my little girl but i hated doing it. I knew i had to put her first regardless of what I felt and wanted. I just wanted to do right by her until I could get in a better place mentally. But damn did it hurt

Addiction is not only psychological & physical, it typically is a lifetime henceforth of challenge to stay sober. Not to mention relapse, 💩 life throws at you, etc... My point is 4 years is actually a relatively short time given Hayden’s age. There’s also her immediate family who has no doubt played a huge role assisting this situation as per usual. The father can take custody by all means but he needs to make sure they are both in the child’s development in a relatively accessible distance. Preferably not exceeding international borders if he truly wants what’s best for their child. Any reputable shrink, family therapist will tell you a very similar note to just that.

She didn’t even try to paint her ex-husband as a villain here, why are people so aggressive to her? Wtf. He took full custody of their daughter as he should. It’s just the way he revealed it to her that was so disappointing. If he had a decent conversation with her about the custody then it wouldn’t be a problem, but that doesn’t make him a villain nor did Hayden paint him one. 💀 Y’all are so dramatic.

She looks really really unhappy as in smiling was nearly impossible. Omg! She unfortunately will probably never regain custody. She signed the papers and I'm sure he had some important clauses in the documents that will make it nearly impossible to fight! Especially when he is at another country. Custody battles are harder when the other parent has the means for really good lawyers. These precious years she is losing of her daughter's life are devastating. But, imagine the dangers of having a baby around a mom that is constantly drinking and depressed. Plus she was in an abusive relationship. Hopefully she can find a solution for her mental and addiction issues and find peace. Everything happens for a reason and hopefully the baby is having a better life with dad.

Exactly. He's never been in any scandal in his long career and had a much harder life than her but never turned to drugs and alcohol. If there's one fact that's undeniable, it's that she didn't do all she could for her child. My sister was recently in a similar situation and became addicted to alcohol after her child was born. Her husband at the time warned her that he'd leave her and take the child if she didn't get her act together. She's paralyzed from the waist down and came to live with me and asked me to take her wheelchair from her and lock the doors so that she can't go out of the house to buy alcohol. That's how much she was willing to do in order to save her relationship with her husband and child. It was extremely tough for her but in the end she overcame her addiction and she and her husband got back together and they've been a happily married couple for 5 years now. If a paralyzed woman can do it, with her husband's family constantly telling her she shouldn't try to be with her husband again because and able bodied woman would be a better mom, then she sure as hell can.
