Yep. I agree. Especially because Jack was killed off a couple of episodes after the wedding. We never really got to see their relationship flourish as a married couple. I want her to decide in the "first" episode of season 8 and use the Christmas episode to end (for lack of better terms) it with Lucas or Nathan. That way a new potential love interest can be introduced for the one that Elizabeth doesn't pick. Now I think Fiona staying could be a good one for Lucas. I'm team Nathan, but at this point they need to just pick. It's been back and forth for 2 seasons now. It's time to move on from the love triangle.

Recast Abigail and give them the love story they deserve. -Let Faith and Dr. Shepard get married and they run the infirmary together. -Let Fiona run her own phone company with help from Molly and Florence. And give her and Kevin a chance to court. -Show the newly married Flynns and the struggles and joys of first year marriage. -Please give Bill a love interest again. He is the papa of all the gals and guys. He deserves love too. -Give Ned a little more screen time as the town grocer. He is a likeable secondary character. Maybe even some competition for him and the mercantile. -For all that is good, get the town a mayor so Bill isn't so tied up all the time with the cafe and judge duties. -And please don't carry out this love triangle for too much longer. It's loosing steam and becoming too drawn out. Whichever Elizabeth picks, make sure he will be a great step dad to baby Jack. And whoever is not picked, let the terms of the "Let down" be kind. No hard feelings. And bring in a new love interest for the one that Elizabeth doesn't pick.

my thoughts exactly! i feel like Elizabeth and Lucas have a friendly relationship they just dont have romantic chemistry while her and Nathan certainly do. I think that if she does choose Nathan it would be really interesting to see Elizabeth struggle with a lot more anxiety about his job and loosing him too. I think that would be a huge final step in Elizabeth moving on from loosing Jack and accepting that she could very well have to go through that grief again but still chooses and pursues a relationship with him because of her feelings towards him.

The hole hug scene felt more to me that it wasn't about Nathan but more about Jack. To me, it felt like Elizabeth was tossed back into some sort of flashback, and reacted through some kind of instinct that was still thinking about Jack.

E I agree! I believe receiving the news that “someone” got shot totally took Elizabeth back to when she heard about Jack’s death. This is why she hugged Nathan so tightly...with relief, not necessarily love. I am also wondering if this might influence her decision in the future...like “I can’t go through this again...losing another Mountie that I love...it’s too painful.” This might lead her more towards Lucas. I also hope that when all is said and done...that Hallmark would show the same compassion and forgiveness that was shown to Henry Gowen, towards Lori Loughlin, and bring back our beloved Abigail. I think Elizabeth and Lucas would be better, he has done so much for her already and if she picked Nathan all of the stuff Lucas did for her would be forgotten. I don't think Elizabeth wants to go through the same thing she did with Jack because the same thing that happened to Jack could just happen to Nathen. Plus Lucas took the time to get to know Elizabeth and looks out for her best interests. Elizabeth has stepped out of her comfort zone since Lucas came into the picture. She seems happier and has more fun. Nathan hasn't gotten the time to know Elizabeth as well as Lucas has. Also when he bought out Henry, I think he is wanting to be more respectful and upstanding. Nathen and Elizabeth have nothing in common. Nathan would be better suited with someone bubbly and more energetic, funny, and that could cheer him up.

That was our mother /daughter bonding time! We even watched them several times because she is an awesome actor..I wish Hallmark could live by"forgiveness" and 2nd chances! Yes, I confess: I was one of the fans yelling at the screen during Lucas and Elizabeth's "date/not date" in the library! I said "Lucas is being so romantic!" 😍😍 I really think Season 7 was excellent and I'm looking forward to the next time we are in Hope Valley! I would love the idea of Lee and Rosemary adopting and they do know of an orphanage in Brookfield (When Hope Calls) that could provide them with a child / baby to love. This couple has LOTS of love to share and will make wonderful parents! I'm also interested to see where Fiona lands since she no longer has a job. Thanks, WCTH, for a great season and being picked up for season 8. Hope next season has even MORE EPISODES!!

Then they begin full on with the next season normally at the end of February. However they normally start filming around June or early July. So we don't know...it depends on when they can start filming. They haven't started filming season 8 yet. I hope it doesn't get delayed. They have not filmed any Hallmark movies since the virus stay-at-home mandate began. It will be interesting to see how the fall and winter goes.

Nathan has other reasons to be more reserved with Elizabeth. He has Ali. He has to balance what’s best for her and his feelings for Elizabeth. I’m sure as being in the role of essentially a single father, he may be examining his motives to make sure he wants Elizabeth for Elizabeth and not just a mom for Ali. His situation is more complicated than even Jack’s was as a single Mountie and that Lucas’ is now as a single guy, even one with a shady past. Those guys from season 6 were shady. Those won’t be the only guys like that to come out of the woodwork. Elizabeth has a more complicated situation, too, as she is a mom. As to the date, everyone wants and needs to feel special every once in a while. Even if she wasn’t interested in Lucas, she probably felt special. I think this is reflected in the series.

I love all the cast of When Calls the Heart which I recently discovered and watched all 7 seasons in a week? Ten days tops. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more episodes in each season. I cannot get enough of this story. It reminds me of the way I felt when I watched The Little House on the Prairie when I was young. It just brings me that tranquility to the soul, the warmth, the values which are non existent these days, all this makes you go back and feel good at least while you are watching. Lucas' character is the only one putting-himself "out there" . Elizabeth is too afraid, because He is so different from her late husband. But that doesn't make him the wrong choice. She needs different, someone to compliment her and yet challenge her as well.

Nancy Perrier I just think it’s a little too weird for her to end up with another mountie. I don’t believe that if Iwas married to a cop that passed away in the line of duty that I’d be married to another one. And Lucas has gone out of his way to win her heart where Nathan has just worn his heart out on his sleeve. I hope that this is not where they get those two together because I can actually see Nathan as one of the characters that fits with a character on their spin off show .

I totally agree. Jack did a lot romantically for Elizabeth. Encouraged her to write build her a school. He was the king of candles. Lucas picked up Elizabeth's journey with helping her pursue her dreams challenging her to be better. Romancing her. Lucas always make her smile and look happy. He built her a Library. He's great with all the kids. He will know how to support Elizabeth with her book deal. He's patient and kind. He doesn't interfere when Nathan talks to Elizabeth because he wants her to be sure who she loves. His character would be more suited for Elizabeth.

Reading these comments maybe I was the only one who really thought it was possible that Nathan was killed off the show but what I loved about it was that when I watched it was shocking how genuinely I was shocked and devastated when I thought he really died....like I believed he was shot but just probs seriously injured. However, I didn't realize how I felt about Elizabeth and Nathan until that happened. Tears went down my face and was so relieved he wasn't.

I felt a touch of LOVE for Nathan from Elizabeth. She looked as if she had lost the one she is really fond of and the daughter of Nathan would suffer at the loss of her father. That's my take, but I really feel in my heart she has true feelings for him. I'll be waiting for the next season. My favorite TV program is Hallmark plus my Christian programs.

I think people are looking at this the wrong way. Jack was Elizabeth true love. When he died her heart died with him. Lucas and her might come from the same back round and would he the ideal couple. But on the other hand everyone is saying Nathan is boring. I think Nathan isn't boring at all, I think he didn't want to fall in love with Elizabeth because him as a mountie, knows exactly what Elizabeth went through with Jack. But Elizabeth could have been with anyone but she choose Jack because she fell in love with their differences. Even though Lucas seems to be the perfect guy for her, I still feel that Nathan is actually the person she needs to get over Jack. He may be boring to some of you, But if you actually watch him, He actually is doing the same thing Jack did to win Elizabeth heart. #teamNathan

Recently, due to my health being in a state of decline I have been looking to find something pleasant to fill my day’s, To compare with the likes of ‘Heartlands’ ‘McLeod’s Daughter’s’ and ‘Outlander’ and I have found it in ‘When Calls The Heart’, it is beautifully written and acted, and isn’t filled with hate and horror, it suites me perfectly Especially in the present disturbing situation! Some how from the preview I saw a few days ago, I knew that Elizabeth was going to run into someone’s arms and my guess was either Nathan’s or Bill’s. I though that because they say that someone was shot and at that time I only saw Bill and Nathan out in the woods and Bill returns driving the prisoner wagon. Naturally I thought Nathan was shot but I’m glad he wasn’t. I’m also happy to see that he is the one that Elizabeth ran to. I love Lucas but I would love to see him with Fiona.

I've been watching this series since the beginning. It took at least 3 yrs until Eliz .and Jack married. Either that same season or the next. Jack was killed . Can't they come up with a different story line? There's other characters in that town . How about Gowen falls in love? Personally, I think she should pick Lucas. They both came from the same backgrounds . What happens if she picks, Nathan ? He gets killed and it's all over again! Marry Lucas , build a beautiful house, have more children .

Agreed! I mean, I understand the original series was supposed to be about a teacher and a Mountie, but that ship sailed when they killed Jack. So, for me, no more mounties. I thought the same thing "what if Kevin outgrows the show too?" It's just too much. I feel like Lucas' character has more dimensions to it than Nathan's. Elizabeth can smooth out Lucas' rough edges like Clara did Jessie. And just because Lucas is a saloon owner doesn't mean it has to stay that way. He has the oil biz now so if he and Lizzie get together, just have him sell the saloon to someone else. Plus, for me, the chemistry is between Lucas and Lizzie. Do you see how he looks at her 😍 Their interactions are so much more interesting. And I hate they made me spend season 6 and 7 falling for them two only for her to end up with Nathan 🙄

1.) I’m glad there is a season 8 because I HATE cliffhangers!!! 2.) Elizabeth is really getting herself into a pickle!! They are both great guys, that I am sure, she could be happy with either, BUT leading them both on (i am sure unintentionally because it is huge for her to take the step to a romantic relationship) is only going to make it so much worse off and THEN everyone will be hurting!! 😱😱😱 I am wringing my hands just thinking about how it will turn out!! 3.) I absolutely think they need to add more episodes to the season! Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the other storylines besides Elizabeth but there ends up being no time to explain what is going on with everyone and their plot lines. 4.) I know this is a sensitive subject so I say this with the utmost respect and gentleness; I would like to see Lee and Rosemary accept that fact that they should keep HOPE that one day they could have a baby; but that they could reach out to Grace and Lilian at Brookfield orphanage. They don’t HAVE TOO adopt. But I would like to see them bring it up at least. They can experience a life together that will include their common interests and a family.
