I went to the theater alone to see this movie (Yes, I'm a loner). There were only four ppl in attendance, five including myself. 5 black ppl sat in a dark movie theatre, completely void of outside sound/noise, anticipating the characters next move until their demise. 5 ppl remained seated after the credits were shown, and although I'm not sure why we all remained seated, I believe it was bc we all had to digest a film so brutally honest that it was mentally draining and emotionally painful. This is our truth. This is our pain. I'm going back to see it again. #queen&slim

The point is that many Americans are losing roles to foreigners because there's been an anti-America bias in Hollywood this decade; far-left politics have infiltrated the industry. And for African-Americans, who have always fought/struggled to land plum roles, it is a disgrace to see foreigners taking their roles and telling their stories. Other countries protect their own homegrown actors, but SAG-AFTRA (TV/film) has been doing a lousy job in the US. One thing I'll say for Actor's Equity (theater), they do a better job at protecting American actors.

I was driven to see this movie since the 1st time I saw the preview; and was not a bit disappointed! As an action and science fi fan I was astounded how the acting and dialogue kept me engaged 100%. The end..😭 I cried when I saw the preview again, lol. That lead to the people I was with to go see the movie. We all thought it was amazing!. Thank you for making such an powerful, moving, engaging film.❤

People here saying it should have been by black Americans because its a "black american experience?". Wow...how narrow minded can you be...police brutality is everywhere not just in america...if y'all would stop looking down on everybody y'all would see what goes on outside as well...this movie is about the black experience... Not the black American experience... We are all black...why y'all gotta be all ethnocentric about it

Easy to say that when you came to America after we took the beating

There are Americans, regardless of colour, who feel Americans are supreme in what they do and what they experience... It is a waste of time arguing with these types of people who have fanatical personality traits.

I agree. I'm Canadian and from what considered to be one of the most multicultural cities in the world (Toronto), and we experience police brutality and and racial profiling daily. You CANNOT say this issue is exclusive to black Americans. It's an issue faced by black people as a whole.

If anything black ppl should take more opportunities to know and express one another’s particular experience. There is so much intentional misinformation.

Just Another Girl on the IRT... I am sooooooo glad that movie still gets love to this day... Lena is next and now. Those people are so humbly speaking of their art of which they've turned bullets into roses. The way they skillfully provoked emotion to audience members reminded me of the pride that stings the mind cuz that creativity is painted from our hurt. We need more reality FILMS.

I simply love this film.Lena Waithe is truth personified.....living teaching sharing rebellious married growing. " loving me is disrespect to you" that's a whole word.

I cried when the movie went off. I cried in the car after the movIe. And I continued to cry in my bed when I got home. The movie was very triggering, it was real, it drew me in and I felt as if I was experiencing every moment and every emotion with the characters while watching the movie .
