Ian has different degrees of affection depending on whom he is interacting with, I saw him on Queen Latifah, but it is still not the same, with Queen Latifah it was the kind of affection he reserves for his fans and female interviewers. But you can still tell the difference. Ian once said that he can count on one hand the people he'd trusts his secrets to. Paul is one, and Kat is the other. Kat once stated that they know everything about each other, that puts their friendship on a different level. From the way they have been fangurling each other for years adds to their chemistry and friendship., they shared a chair here, because, there were not enough chairs, but that was not the case in Brazil, chairs were provided for Rick, Ian and Kat, yet they shared one chair while Rick took the other. So it is not just about Ian being touchy feely, there are lots of other little things to which is why people say Kat and Ian's friendship is lovely,and because they have chemistry people also state they would actually make a good couple if they were not with other people.

Yeah, I did misunderstand you - I thought you replied because you didn't understand what a glory hole was. But my point was that something was cut (the interview goes from Julie talking about Elena going Pre-Med at school to them laughing about Kat saying something's "like a glory hole to the other side"). Clearly there's a contextual jump because 1. we don't actually hear Kat say it, just the aftermath of them making fun of her for it and 2. because we have no idea what would have prompted her to say that given the conversation just before it. So, that's why I said I assume that whatever was cut was a spoiler, and that's why the conversation is so disjointed at the end, because whoever did the editing just didn't cut it together well enough for it to make sense without the part they cut. (And I only think it was a spoiler because the sexual comment alone wouldn't be enough to cut it out, clearly, since they still kept in the part where they're discussing it at the end).
