Hey man great video. I watched your mag kill video awhile ago by chance, and I'm glad a you made a guide. I've noticed there is less quality hunter content on the web for bm hunters in tbc classic then I expected. BM hunter is a little more difficult in pve then I think most players realize(if you want to excel that is). I think even now 15yrs later most just think ," BM HUNTER EASY , RANGED, POP CD's = WIN" which is true to the extent our 2min CD is a big part of our dps but deff not easy - Pet management is real and takes constant diligence lol!!!

Nice guide, I'd appreciate more guide about the rotation rather than mentioning shooting an arcaneshot when moving, which seems quite obvious. But the rotation with and without hastebuffs feels for me still clunky, and I've been playing alot :( Feels like I clip my auto way too much, and if I don't - I feel like I auto way to much instead of weaving in steady. And latency also messes this up I feel.

As far as the "Multi shot right after steady" am I supposed to be casting the MS BEFORE auto shot resets or after? I assume it's the first one, right? Or else I would be clipping. Also, what shot timer WA are you using in your clips? I think I just use the addon WeaponSwingTimer and it has worked for regular 1:1'ing manually so far, and whilst I've looked into the whole french rotation, I really struggle when haste becomes a thing, aka when using cds and/or lust is a thing. Judging from the autoshot WA you use as well, I kind of have a hard time telling all the information that is given, and same with some of the AA WA's ive looked at, it's the same deal, and none of the description parts really tell what all the red lines and what not are for :P Even though I assume at least ONE of them is a "don't cast multi shot after this" warning.

Are you macroing arcane shot or multi with kill command, if so what do you have? I personally had arcane tied in with kill command but found issues with KC queuing. Looking to see if im better off manually hitting kc in those moments or keeping arcane macro’d

Great Video man, how high do you rank the DPS increase from Enhancer > Resto Shaman? Given how melee unfriendly T5 is, I think many will reduce melees and only play with 1 enhancer which would need to be in your melee group for twisting since the resto shaman can't do it. Curious to hear your thoughts about it

I'm struggling a bit sometimes deciding when to switch to other rotations. I start with the French one but as soon as I drop below 2.00 I basically switch to 1:1 and when I drop below 1.4 I switch to 2:1 but I still seem to be clipping way to much. Don't know if it's just my swing timer that's messed up or not...

Can someone please explain what has happened to what has changed between OG TBC and this frankensteined version. Because in OG the 1:1 macro was king if you had the wolfsniper rifle and if you did have Sunfury you used a 3:2 macro. Cheeky has the OG theorycrafter and basically preached this you can even go back and look in the elitist jerks archives. Nice guide not trying to contradict what you are saying I am just trying to figure out what has happened.

People have been theorycrafting and min-maxing this game since retail TBC. Just the fact that Hunters use blue dungeon sets until 4/5 t5 is insane to me. Had a new guy (Hunter) needing on t4 shoulders last week and people just laughed at him and gave em to a warlock. Still has not seen a single t4 Hunter on my server.

what do your logs list under btw? (name) Some decent advice and some other id disagree with. 100% kill times and raid setup are the biggest factors, its like the wbuffs onf tbc. A hunter in a 3 BM feral enhance or 2 bm war ferla enhance setup, is automatically at an advantage. So much so, that they can be an avg player and out dps an extremely good player, in a piss poor setup. Also worth doubling down on how impactful haste pots are on dps when stacked. haste pot is what (well other than a ncie DST proc too), allows you to drop in to 1:2 type rotations during lusts, which bump up your dps a lot. You won't drop in to 1:2 in current gear, without a haste pot (or lucky lined up dst proc). This is also one of the reasons i dislike the melee weaving info. Weaving allows you to close that gap vs a better 'setup' hunter In turn, a weaving hunter on a weave friendly fight, who knows what they're doing..in ideal setup with the same rng /uptime as a non weave hunter...weaving hutner will do more dps. Theres no disputing that, the weaves fit in 'gaps' in your rotation where you wouldnt of been performing any other action (due to GCD) Yes you can fck it up, yes it takes some practice and yes it depends on the boss...some simply aren't weave friendly. But the idea is never to weave everything, its to weave the ones that you can when its appropiate. And all that aside, its honestly...far more fun. Adds a completely new element to hunter ameplay (or carrys it on for those of us that weaved in classic vanilla). You aren't at risk if you know how to watch a threat meter and properly pre emptively FD Id highly suggest everyone at least gives it a try at some stage and they might find they actually enjoy it once they get past the learning curve Don't get me wrong, ill pure turret on fights where its more favourable to do so, but on anything that doesn't hinder weaving ...its just more fun, and more potential for dps gain.

ah yeah, can see the battle quarks and setup now ^^ It's certainly a huge factor for min max'ing if aiming to top the charts One thing i advocate most hunters do though is to never really compare vs hunters outside of your own setup. Sure its nice to chase down some higher ranks But, the dps gain from optimal group setup + the little things like you say, pre-positioning on Gruul for more uptime, battle chickens full stacked, chaining lusts on 1 grp etc (even old machine gun bug logs that still exist) that adds so much extra dps that its unrealistic to compare.....but rather use WCL filters and get some comparisons with similar buffs/kill times etc and that gives you a realistic guide of how you're performing as an individual.

yeah DST is better than both The only exception would be on say a super fast HKM or in kara on say a 30-40 sec sort of boss kill. If you dotn rng a proc or 2, then for the most part Badge (swarmguard) would beat it But its like a niche scenario / relies on fast bursty kills. However if you did have DST and you rng a proc along with all your CD's lust and a haste pot, it has potential to knock you in to 1:3 which is an even higher dps gain

if you have no haste, and if you propperly fire steady shot immediately after autoshot, then its basically this : Auto-steady-multi-auto-steady-auto-steady-arcaneshot-auto-steady-auto-steady. you just get more shots off this way, but you wont have time to do this when you have higher haste. there are 2-3 other hasted rotations you need to learn if you want to play on top level, but just get as many abilties out without interrupting autoshots is the main goal.

I get that you want to stick to steady shot over multi if you dont have the mana for it but at what point should I do that? We have very long kills and I go oom often by using multi/arcane ever GCD theyre up and wont clip. So do you think at like 30% mana to stop using multi/arcane liberally? If I have mana pots/runes on CD?

Don’t use arcane if you have long boss fights. Still use multi. Only supposed to use arcane for fights under 40-50 seconds and while moving (only if you have a lot of mana). Hope that helps.

For the flask/double elixir its all about rng on the crit u Will get from the major agility buff, u can not say that it is better for personnal dps, its a straigth buff to ur crit chance, that, based on rng might increase ur dps

flask is 100% more of a dps gain, especially on something like Gruul with pet uptime If you have 0 mana issues agi + mageblood still gets used for Mag p1 as it then allows you to demonslaying elixir in p2 And Mag is much more of a mana intensive fight, so the mageblood plays in nicely there
