TBC Warlock PvE Guide - An updated Guide to Raiding as a Warlock

Top tier my man, the multi-pov boss guides are also ace, but you should consider doing some commentary over a VoD of a full SSC/TK raid for us newbie locks, people don't seem to do it as well while streaming cause they focus on their pump, but I'd they do it after the fact they are so much more in depth.

Not a big issue but thought I should mention it since my biggest pet peeve in life is that there is no standard level for audio across the internet.

19:42 "Healers are gonna heal us last"...should be that way tbh, but many healers know warlocks get 20% more hp from heals, so it's an easy way to push personal hps :D

You could mention that when a raid is about to wipe, lifetapping and hellfiring kills you with no durability loss. This is very helpful for progression raiding. If you can spare the shards, it helps to shatter first as warlocks tend to be high on threat. It will be back up for when you next need it. Maybe also worth mentioning that if you have a stable group set up in your raid, it's optimal to use both Eye of the Night and Chain of the Twilight Owl JCing necks in your group so that people in your group have extra buffs. Eye of the Night is a bit expensive, Chain of the Twlight Owl is super cheap, but isn't so great for deep affliction. There isn't any mention of the damange coefficients of each warlock spell (The raw gearing of the spell to your spellpower total) , I think this is helpful in understanding why Shadow eventually overtakes fire. You also haven't really talked about relative stat weights in relation to 1 spellpower, although these are hard to accurately determine and different for each build. I swear this information was publicly available back in the day.

Here's the best bit of advice for warlocks in tbc. Watch the fkn threat meter and run TO the tank when you get all the aggro (since you dont know how to play or watch a threat meter) and not AWAY from the tank... so you dont blame him for not chasing the mobs when you dont know how to play your class or watch threat. If you cant do this..then stick to summoning people.

@@Unparadoxability Mostly its just a handful of items. Depends on the gear you got. Rings, Neck, Back, Gloves. I can get over 3% more crit, some SP and a bit more Stam on Trashfights while losing absolutly nothing. Its always good to keep extra Gear on you for when Ele doesnt show up smh

For the trinket macro, I always use: /use 13 /use 14 (or whatever their slots are). That way it always casts your trinkets, whatever are in there. Nice work!

Yo man, nice videos. Wanted to ask if you think tailoring is this important in WoTLK like it is in TBC. So many pieces of gear are BiS with tailoring and would like to plan ahead as my curent warlock(is undead) is Ench + alch (max) and i dont feel like dropping either so i'm re-leveling a orc

Gloves Enchant - if you are fire, you have +20 fire damage enchant. same as Major Spellpower (but just for fire) and its cheap AF in comparison. +20 SP is better ofc cause it applies to all your spells not just fire. but worth the mention

Noob question. During raids I get into the top two for dps on bosses. Problem is I continually gain threat sometimes pulling off tank. Is there is a rotation or strategy to gain good damage without pulling threat? Running Destro Warlock

Also when mentioning gems, you showed the spell power + crit but didn't explain when you would use them. From the sounds of it, if you don't need hit, always go just spell power gems? I've been socketing sp+crit gems because the value of critting. Unless there is a crit cap I don't know about

As Aff should I get 16% for my SBs or just get the 6 and whatever more I can get? I'm currently not in an ele grp and I can't seem to find anything on the subject. I could get quite a bit more SP If I didn't have to have so much hit. I just went Aff for my guild and not sure.

Could you provide more detail on why you don't cast Corruption as part of your rotation when you're shadow destro please? In the sims I have ran, with a shadow priest in raid there is a dps gain by casting both Immolate and Corruption using the Destro Build #2 you reference

Using the GCD on conflag keeps your dps lower. Instead using the GCD to refresh imo or just shadow bolt will be higher dps. It just comes down to the GCD really dickin ya over

Like our friend here stated, it's just not worth the GCD per dmg. That being said, you still use it alot when moving and such.

What's your opinion on the value of Intensity talent for destro? I know it's useful for few things like alar buffet or other aoes that could stagger your cast, but otherwise I feel like if I'm getting hit, I should stop casting anyways. My thought is only for warlock tanking, but with the fast cast time on searing, I don't see the value in putting points in Intensity

Arcane torrent is equal to 75% of a Life tap (in my current gear) so its okay for trash who you can mana tap on to safe a life tap (its 10 mana at level 1)

@@Crix_Gaming One other thing that I forgot to mention about blood elves that may be good in hindsight as well for anyone you know who plays one (Or any Spell dmg using BE for that matter): Bloodthistle. Blood elf only consume from herbalism outside of Silvermoon that gives you +10 SP for 10 min. Its not much but if you want to be minmaxy you can grab those. I go through about 25 in 2 nights of raiding including scuffed pulls.

As soon as you get it. The only thing you dont break is your 2 set. If youre fire, you use shoulder + Helm. If youre Shadow you use Shoulder + glove.

Regarding soul shard farming: has anyone figured out how to make a macro that removes the backlash buff so you don't kill it before you have time to cast drain soul? For some reason /cancelaura does not remove the buff. Wastes like 1/4 of my fish souls.

If you get good crit RNG then the first spec can do more damage because all you are casting are shadowbolts.

You need two blue gems total. The meta doesn't count for one.

The 2 blue gems were for *Chaotic Skyfire Diamond.* For activating the meta bonus of *Mystical Skyfire Diamond* you need to have more blue gems than yellow gems in your entire gear. Purple gems also count towards the number of blue gems. Green too, but they're both counted as blue AND yellow gems. And orange counts as yellow.

You have to spec into Master demonologist further down the tree and get 0.2 resist per point per your level. Eg 1/5 is +14 resist, 5/5 is 70 resist But it’s mega overkill and you lose Shadow and Flame
