As a historian/history teacher (BA and MA), studied Russian and Soviet history, fan of films, and having some Slavic (Polish/Ukrainian roots), this is a fine film to study. I remember seeing/studying in college "Battleship Potemkin". Thank you for sharing this with us.

Vertov era um grande gênio.Ele era o cinema verdade,além de ser cineasta também era jornalista.Esse foi o o primeiro filme soviético falado.Trilha sonora marcante.

Agreed! Vertov left very clear notes about the score for MwaMC published, including sound effects. But he also wanted a fast paced score to reflect the development of the film, something that most modern composers ignore, eg the dreary efforts by Michael Nyman, Cinematic Orchestra, In the Nursery etc. The Alloy Orchestra score is the only one that follows Vertov's intentions. Not arranged for the film but for Perry Bard's ingenious modern take on it, this score is remarkably similar to the sounds of Enthusiasm.

Yes. Religion was never prohibited and many soviet films across all eras feature religious symbols and allusions, though mostly negative or neutral.
