Interestingly, Tatiana was quite surprised, that especially Pisces went kind of viral, it is a youtube phenomenon, that the shock factor is what people get from Jinjer first, due to the mass of reaction videos to it. They have been around for many years, and the song was not intended to have the shock factor to catch people's attention to the band or her vocal range. The music was supposed to reflect the duality of the pisces zodiac sign and the virginity and vulnerability of the fish and the brutal and deadly attraction to the hook (like in fishing) in the lyrics. Obviously metaphoric for the coming of age of a young woman with a clever association of mermaids, puberty and first love and sexual relationships and their following lovesickness/disappointment. It ends bad with her being butchered, though. Obviously a very personal song, and the album has the zodiac and stars/space topic, like "I speak astronomy" (great track as well). She is great in writing kind of concept albums. Except very few lyrics that Eugene helped her out on "King of Everything". due to time pressure in production, Tatiana writes all the lyrics by herself. And she is a fantastic lyricist, and even more fantastic, if you know, that English is her second language (russian native speaker) and she actually has quite a harder time to express herself sufficiently (still like complaining on a high level, but she is obviously a passionate perfectionist as a pro musician ) ... (she lets this shine through on several occasions in interviews). She is very talented in many ways, obviously.

Your analysis and attention to detail were appreciated and impressive. You said she was rising like a bird at the end - it’s actually an impersonation of a plant - a perennial, rising “from the ashes of my roots” in spring. The theme is recurring death/rebirth, seasonal change. Also, she said “This is poetry of *youth*” (not love) - “...this is poetry of me and you”. By “youth” she refers, continuing the metaphor, to new spring growth or renewal.

I'm not normally a fan of growls & screams personally, but find I can make out a fair chunk of what Tatiana's saying before I have to pull lyrics up. Dude, just wow! I've seen quite a few Jinjer reactions, but yours are just so complete, I love it! Love the dog as well lol The unusual thing about Jinjer to me is that it seems like the guitar does more of the groundwork and the bass gets more attention, when it's usually the other way around! I'd recommend specific songs, but you can't go wrong with Jinjer! Who's Gonna Be The One and Scissors are essential, though, to see some different facets of Jinjer and their evolution!

Some of my favorites are the following official songs: Retrospection, On the Top, Pit of Consciousness, Bad Water, Cloud Factory, and Outlander from 2013. In 2019 they probably were doing shows 75% of the days and still managed to release their Macro album.

The sheer variety of musical influences they bring together combined with world-class talent is just incredible. I was lucky enough to see them live last year and they really are that good. Glad you liked it. Another insightful reaction, I'm enjoying these. You really need to read the lyrics before or during the reaction. Bear in mind that some of the online lyric sites are not 100% accurate. The official video for Perennial is beautiful and helps explain what it's about. Worth watching even if you don't react to it. I think you would really enjoy Judgment & Punishment (live is excellent, official video is a brilliant little horror story). For some historical context, Outlander (the failure.color version) will show you a much younger Tatiana (plus Roman and Eugene). It has studio sound over concert footage. Excellent. Who Is Gonna Be The One is a must, the official live version is killer. Also shows off Eugene's bass runs and Roman's guitar skills. My other personal favourites: Teacher, Teacher; Ape; Cloud Factory; Dip A Sail; Beggar's Dance; Words of Wisdom; lainnerep (the name Perennial backwards, it's Perrenial redux) & basically everything else they have ever recorded.

Thanks for that play by play chief. You're like the sports radio announcer of metal. 🤪 Glad you're digging Jinjer as much as the fans that suggest these works of art to you. Keep up the killer vids brother 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

The sports announcer of metal haha I love it. Fun story, My dad has always said his dream job would be to be a sports announcer for ESPN or the NFL or college sports. And he's extremely good at it, but just doesnt pursue it. Maybe after he retires and gets bored, who knows. Haha

Perennial, like the flower that returns from death in winter every year to bloom again. Tati's lyrics are poetry. The song is about her (and every young person's) struggle with depression. This autumn feels like funeral to me The longest song of grief And not for what has passed But for what shall last Exhausted nature is so tragic and suicidal! Oh how spectacular she is when she kills herself! Death throes are slowly crawling to her toes As the last leaf is falling off her head I'm here with her undressed With a few petals on my breasts We shared opiates and let the landscapes do the same I love your warmth but yet prefer to sleep in cold alone. We fixed our eyes up to the sky To see a flight send us farewell Goodbye! May we see each other next time So please, come back to celebrate this festival of life! Then as now fly! Today you reached the point of no return Now cry! And then die! Tomorrow I will meet you with your cells restored Annual tradition of mass destruction In the name of total reconstruction My biggest source of confusion The reason of decay and disillusion Under permanent ice we found a breathless paradise No, we're not dead No, we're not dead Just enjoying coma From the ashes of my roots the new me will rise to live again This is poetry of youth, this is poetry of me and you! From the ashes of my roots the new me will rise to live again This is poetry of youth, this is poetry of me and you!

I just clicked to the subscribe button because I love how you are able to analyze every aspect of performance (not only here, but also "Pisces" video). Just one point - if you reviewing Jinjer, don't miss the lyrics. For Jinjer are lyrics no less important. Anyway - keep doing what you are doing. And what will be next? I think that Who is going to be the One? (Live), Teacher, Teacher! (Official Video) and I Speak Astronomy (Official Video) will be a good choice. ;)

I think Roman (the guitarist) doesn't get enough props. Jinjer is so good because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each band member is essential, in my opinion.

Great reaction! I smiled at 02:12 because the sentence "OMG Tatiana looks diferent in every video" is already a meme and you said something similar. :D Tatiana overall skills and persona is what grabs you at first but the rest of the guys also hold you in with their amazing talent. And live this band is even better. Check out "Who´s Gonna Be The One" live after "Teacher, Teacher." or "Judgment & Punishment" live in Melbourne for something different. You are just on the surface of the Jinjer bag of tricks.

Love how much effort you put on noticing the most "irrelevant" details on the videos/songs. That is something i wish i´ve seen others noticing, since metal is not only about the "evil" lyrics and agressive vocals. Oh and since you mentioned that some of us might not like rap music, there´s actually something i would love seeing you do. you reacting to a type of rap called Horrorcore. *MY RECOMENDATIONS WOULD BE:* Kidchrusher and/or Twiztid. I´ll be here to watch if you react to any of those. ;) \m/
