Hello from Enthusiastic Steve, welcome to my video showcasing the Yankee Foxtrot Net, the friendliest, fastest growing net on any radio band, Amateur, HAM, CB and PMR in the U.K.
Take a look at the Radio Net that is getting Radio enthusiasts talking, every Tuesday evening Radio users gather on hilltops across Southern England and can make multiple contacts across the whole of the United Kingdom, Europe and even across the pond.
There are many nets here in the South, Solent Area, just like around some other parts of the country where many nets are regularly undertaken. But we do seem to have a high number of active nets in our region compared to some!!
HF, 80m ,40m, 20 and 10m nets, VHF band, including the 4m Morning nets and the famous Monday evening vertical SSB net, UHF nets, CB nets such as the Channel 38 regular chats, the SID net, the 305 Victory Net held Sunday and Wednesday evenings, but the one that is getting a lot of interest, the one everyone is talking about, the one that is growing in popularity is the Yankee Foxtrot Net. Every Tuesday evening.
My video includes an interview with "John" one of the founding members, he explains how it all started, its intentions to get people using the channels, talking, taking part and sharing a common interest. Some long DX is accomplished when conditions are favourable.
The emphasis is friendliness, everyone is welcome, knowledge is shared and new comers are helped if they want it.
It is all part of keeping the hobby alive, getting people talking, bringing in new radio users and supporting the radio industry so future radio operators can continue to enjoy this exciting hobby.
After the interview with John, stay tuned to hear clips from a recent Yankee Foxtrot net where stations from Scotland call in and some "McTastic" inter G contacts were made. (You may hear yourself?)
Take a moment to comment and give your experiences of nets in your area?
Thank you for watching, your support is much appreciated.
