Loved your Costco Thanksgiving Taste test show. I’ve tried the prepared mashed potatoes before; just me, but always try to find ways to improve ready made food, so I drain the liquid that’s always sealed in the packaging. (Eww what is it?) I transfer the drained potatoes into Pyrex bowl, add cream and butter. Then cover and heat. Easy to whisk together and serve from. You are like family to me since I first found you. Love you guys!

I buy the brie and use cookie cutters and make little cutouts of it and add a spoonful of cranberry salsa on top for individual sized appetizers.

Here in Florida those potatoes are sold in grocery stores too. I have bought them before. They are also sold in different flavors, plain, cheese, and garlic.

The mashed potatoes are always around, not just for the holidays. They aren’t bad, but I like more flavor. Whenever I make real mashed potatoes, I always double or triple them and make my own frozen packs to keep on hand. Super convenient.

@@Sabrina.682 If they are in a container with head space they get a little watery. But when they are sealed like in a food saver or ziploc they are just fine. Make sure to get them as cold as you can before you package them, that helps the most. I will generally leave them in the fridge overnight and then package and freeze them the next morning.

Our Costco sells those potatoes year round ☺️ Sometimes we grab a rotisserie chicken, the Yukon mashed potatoes, and a bag of Caesar salad and call that dinner! It feeds 5 of us easily (with 3 teenagers) and is MUCH cheaper than eating out.

I’m used to using russet potatoes for mashing. Buying store bought mashed potatoes wouldn’t work, because when my aunt makes them for family gatherings, she uses at least 5 lbs of russet potatoes, if not more for the big gatherings like Thanksgiving or Christmas.

When I was first married.. My hubby and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on Friday... My kitchen was still packed in boxes from our move in together our first Thanksgiving was just this way..all packaged reheated stuff.. Seeing you and" toodles" together trying it and just enjoying each other brought back sweet memories..now we have an eight year old daughter and I do everything from scratch.. But I still miss those days

Thank you so much for sharing your experience together. Listening to your conversation as a couple was fun! You guys remind me of when my husband and I share a meal. We could talk forever about the yumminess of food cooked well. He’s worked in all areas of restaurants since he was a teenager, almost always 4 and 5 star. He is a GM now of an entire yacht club (including the restaurant too)and brings food home when he can. It’s been fun taste testing all the goodness over the years. On another note, I laughed so hard at the end when you guys kept getting interrupted on your “date”. When Deric rubbed his face…. that’s my husband! My husband will be like,” I love you people but can I PLEASE have your mom to myself for two seconds?!” 😉😉 Oh the joys of parenting and still having fun as a married couple😂

I get the mashed potatoes from Costco all the time. I freeze them and then pull out a package when needed. They are a go to when we head out in the trailer camping because they are so quick. I heat mine in a pan on the stove and add butter!!
