An entire chapter of a Hells Angels Motorcycle Club was arrested as part of a kidnapping, robbery and assault probe. Law enforcement officers seized firearms, ammunition and gang-affiliated paraphernalia.

I saw a Hell’s Angels summer summit in Cody, Wyoming, some 10 years ago. There were police cars from Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana patrolling the streets of Cody, as these troublemakers had taken over the town for a few days, and were drinking and carrying on like there was no end. As a child growing up, I rode with far too many HA members on Toys for Tots runs, and as an adult have witnessed far too many HA members physically helping combat child and spousal abuse for me to EVER judge the entire Club for the actions of one chapter.

I should mention however, even if I did, it would not negate all the good from the Club I have personally witnessed and taken part in. The look of surprise and happiness on kids faces when those loud bikes pull up, filled with a Santa and 30+ leather clad elves baring Christmas presents. The look of utter relief on an abused woman's face when she realizes exactly how many fairly large fully grown men are there to put an end to the abuse she had been suffering. Both of those images and end results make it very clear that not everyone is a bad person. Even within an "outlaw" biker club.

When I was studying in France (Bourges), I met a chapter of the Hell’s Angels, and it blew my mind. It was that moment that I knew I would never be free. I am only related to bikers by distant relatives, but there is nowhere I can go, and not encounter their buddies. I was in Bourges, France, hanging out with Algerian French-Blackfoot. Somehow, I still encountered Hells’ Angels. How? Why?

My husband's cousin married the Vice-president of the Hell's Angels of Oakland. His daughter told us that he died due to a mistake in this medication, not because he was ill. He and the other members of the bay area, were there when the Rolling Stones were playing at Altamont. Strangely, my son has a laser disk of the parts of the concert. And you probably know what disaster that was.

He said it was just understood that that particular divide was something they didn't want to deal with within the club. My dad claims to have ridden with one of the founding HA members. Back in the day when a bike was a Harley, Henderson or an Indian. He even had an Ariel Square Four, a truly unique bike, look it up. Dad graduated Redlands HS in 1951 and turned 90 last August.
