I gotta be honest, this channel basically covers some negative conexions people have with each other, but the 3rd story in this video is a wholesome one, it put a smile on my face, and I hope the OP, Casey and the kid have a good future. And he may not realize it, but he already took on the responsibility of being a father figure for the kid. He's already mentored him on a possible career, he's pushing the kid forward on the plans for his future, he's showing affection. The OP is more ready than he thinks he is.

I do agree but in their defense they are likely looking at 2 things. The mom going on and on about how horrible her kids are, wouldn't be shocked if she gave examples of each, and no one setting extended family straight. Second they wouldn't touch the mom with a 10 foot pole and worry about getting involved with the kids who are all adults and still living with her. With them living with her they probably figure her stories are true or they may just want to get in touch for money like mom. Now I will still 100% agree they should give her a chance to explain but I think that's probably their thought process.

The OP in the first story must of accepted it for what it is, but to me the rest of the family were kinder jerkes as well. It was obvious that they loved her son and at least respect the OP but for them to cut all contacts of her just for the things her mother did was just unreasonable. Like they didn't even accept her calls to apologise for her mother ruining the party. That to me tells me that they seem to think "Like mother like daughter." Which is not a good mindset in this type of situation.

100% agree with the narrator on the story about op Casey and Kenny. He already sound like he's doing the job of a father figure and it sounds like he's doing pretty good. Started by hanging out with the kid and the mom and doing all the work on her car. Let him play video games with you and then teaching him about cars. And then you're taking care of them when they're not feeling good either while they're taking care of you through covid. You're even taking the kid to work with you, I'm sorry does that not sound like take your kid to work day to anyone else? He may have felt he was just being a friend in a buddy to both of them, and he was. But sometimes really good things happen at a small beginning just like that. He just need to be open and if he's still willing become that role that he accidentally stepped into. It could lead to something truly great and life-changing. Always examine the aspects of never be afraid to just jump in it feelings are there. It may fizzle out and then again it may ignite into something awesome

Pt.2 summary The boy invites a friend and says how op is basically like his dad. This thru op off because he viewed him more brotherly. He talked to Casey who seemed surprised but mentioned how the son had expressed that Casey and it got together. She then asks him out and while op is excited he isn't sure about the fatherhood role he has unknowingly taken or if he should put boundaries in that relationship.
