What’s was left got built up into a new man; helped along by his new girl and her awesome family but still forever wounded by his former life. My extended maternal family disowned my mom and by extension my siblings and I, when I spoke my truth about what my maternal cousin did to me and no charges were pressed. 1) I've kept the same phone number ever since I got my first cell phone back in 1999. 2) Even if he changed his phone number, there are ways to find people's phone number. I mean, back in the old days we even had something called a "phone book" with listed numbers, and in some cases these still exist in digital format. At least around here, if the account is in your name, then you can just look it up unless it is intentionally kept secret. And then there are databases that keep your information, like IRS (or their local equivalent). I mean, if you contact a PI to help you track someone down, unless that person is in witness protection or otherwise has their info secret, all they need to do is just do a few quick searches in the right databases and there you go.

Statute of limitations would likely prevent that. As well as a lack of evidence and witnesses so long afterwards. Unless the family is ready to testify against each other, which I doubt.

Had he done that, they would have used the allegations against him to get OP arrested and then his cousins lies would result in him going to prison for a long, long time. Or a short time, since that type of crime if it gets about whilst he is serving the sentence, the inmates will likely give him another sentence.

Op gave way too generous terms. The only terms I would personally accept an apology on is the parents pay £100,000 to Op. The father lets his son hit him in the gut. The Uncle agrees to Op breaking his nose. The cousin pays Op £1,500 a month for the next 7 years. She agrees to let Op break her nose and punch her in the gut. She gives him her car. She lives in a van for the next 2 years. If she has social media, she will write the truth in her bio until the payments are complete. The parents, uncle, cousin and all other family members agree to never contact Op again. All written on paper, signed and recorded. If they want the apology accepted then you gotta pay to play.
