1st story: I'm going to say this ONCE. If you do substantive harm to a person (injury, psychological trauma, damage to their reputation, career, income, or planned life path), you have NO business asking them for forgiveness unless you have a plan laid out to MAKE THEM WHOLE and HEAL the harm you've done. Without that plan, you don't DESERVE forgiveness because they're still living with the harm YOU inflicted.

Throw him out and cancel all of the money for his schooling. And her punishment is that she has to say sorry? Why doesn't the uncle and dad beat the shit out of her like they did op and throw her out and cut her off of everything?? Oh right the woman privilege of the only form of accountability happened to be taken is to say sorry and that's only in extreme cases they even have to do that.

Story 1: They lost their son when they assaulted and disowned him, just as they wanted at the time. But the son they knew died when he attempted suicide. What’s was left got built up into a new man; helped along by his new girl and her awesome family but still forever wounded by his former life. The cousin got a slap on the wrist and is still part of the family, INEXCUSABLE. She lost her luxurious car, BUT was still given a car? GTFO!!! Son should sue and press charges for assault on his male birth giver and the birth givers brother. Hell I’d have expected either birth giver to be in jail for assaulting the POS cousin or her father after hearing the truth, but nope their son isn’t worth it. Their sons life being destroyed is just a tragic circumstance to leave in the past and move on with no REAL consequences to anyone at fault. Cause the cousin still deserved to live her life to the fullest! SMH.

It doesnt sound fake to me. You see the stories of families instantly disowning and telling their gay kid to leave the house immediately, its not that much of a stretch to go from that to how op was treated and men in general are treated due to false SA allegations. All it takes is for one person to suggest it happened and it can ruin their lives. No investigation of the truth, just believing someones words

Thankfully, this story sounds fake. The didn't get therapy for the cousin, but presents and validation? Either the family was f'ked beyond repair, or just plot holes. But the lesson remains the same, always go to the police, talk to a teacher or legal aide. Always get someone to advocate for your innocence.

I have no idea about the story being fake, but I do know many families will try to rug sweep and "change the subject" by throwing gifts and parties and positive attention at the victim instead of therapy, trying to make the victim somehow forget what happened.

1) I've kept the same phone number ever since I got my first cell phone back in 1999. 2) Even if he changed his phone number, there are ways to find people's phone number. I mean, back in the old days we even had something called a "phone book" with listed numbers, and in some cases these still exist in digital format. At least around here, if the account is in your name, then you can just look it up unless it is intentionally kept secret. And then there are databases that keep your information, like IRS (or their local equivalent). I mean, if you contact a PI to help you track someone down, unless that person is in witness protection or otherwise has their info secret, all they need to do is just do a few quick searches in the right databases and there you go.

Op gave way too generous terms. The only terms I would personally accept an apology on is the parents pay £100,000 to Op. The father lets his son hit him in the gut. The Uncle agrees to Op breaking his nose. The cousin pays Op £1,500 a month for the next 7 years. She agrees to let Op break her nose and punch her in the gut. She gives him her car. She lives in a van for the next 2 years. If she has social media, she will write the truth in her bio until the payments are complete. The parents, uncle, cousin and all other family members agree to never contact Op again. All written on paper, signed and recorded. If they want the apology accepted then you gotta pay to play.
