The OP in #1 needs to call the police like yesterday. That is straight fraud. As for #2, as someone with ADHD, I definitely understand how someone could get into this neverending cycle with no progress on a job hunt after losing your previous one and just hiding in your comfort zone routine, consequences be damned. That said, when your actions/inaction starts harming others, be it financially or otherwise, then you start to lose my sympathy. But yeah, I'm strongly against those comments about them claiming to have ADHD as a TikTok fad. It's a serious condition that shouldn't be mocked.

Sometimes I literally become incapable of doing anything that required complex thinking/decision making. I just continue doing whatever I'm playing/working on until I realize a new day has started and I haven't eaten anything or done next to anything of value for the past several hours. Then imagine that hyperfocus also applies to random intrusive thoughts. Like "what's the difference between a stoat and a ferret?" or "how painful would it be if that car going the other direction suddenly swerved and hit me?" or "what's going to happen when I run out of savings now that I'm jobless?" Now imagine focusing on that last one and dwelling on it for ages and yet still being unable to take a step to rectify it beyond *maybe* a brief scroll through a job posting site, only to see nothing but jobs you gaslight yourself that you're unqualified for, or that you'll hate it there. Now also imagine that hyperfocus also prevents you from doing things you actually enjoy as well. That whole day you just dissociated for? You had intended to read that book you liked. That new video game you started yesterday and really enjoyed? Maybe you'll touch it again in a month.

Story 3: The teacher was clearly picking a favorite with the goal of making them do her dirty work. I imagine that if OP didn't have the job that comes with the publicity she has now, the teacher would have completely forgotten about her. She doesn't care about OP, only about what OP could do for her. That's why she was annoyed when OP told her about her situation, because it meant that she at the moment of learning this information was obligated to report it. That meant extra hassle with no benefits to herself, that is why she disliked it so much. The teacher is a selfish POS.

Especially given she did absolutely nothing once made aware of the abuse a child student was going through at home at the hands of her step-parent and parent, and the abuse their younger sibling was also going through. She used the fact OP was clearly craving a mother figure in her life to manipulate OP into doing what she wanted to the detriment of OP's social and academic life. Consistently being pulled out of class to do something that a former teacher wanted OP to do because the teacher was too bone idle to do it herself, would have had an impact on OP's knowledge of subjects covered in class.

My mother once took out a mortgage loan in my name, then defaulted on it! When the company came after me, I had no idea what was going on. When I figured it out, I was able to get out of the hot seat by proving I never signed for this, wasn't even living in that state, etc. Reported the guilty party to the loan company! IMO, this was a criminal situation and I owed her no loyalty or forgiveness after what she did!

Story 1. My mother did something similar to me. My husband and I had to file bankruptcy due to having hundreds of thousands debt for my medical care as a teen ($500k in medical bills for my cancer treatments from the ages 16-18 years old). During our bankruptcy we discovered my mother used my name and social security number to rent apartments and then would get evicted. We also found phone, light and cable bills all in my name. I didn’t have to pay them because every one was done when I was under the age of 16 years old. Story 2: you need to evict this “friend”, because she has no plans to get a job and wants to mooch off you. Get rid of her like, yesterday. Tell her if she smokes in your house again she will be kicked out. Story3: your teacher is sketchy. You need to confront her about her actions when you were 13 years old. You also need to tell her to stop riding your coat tails to boost her reputation. If she refuses, you need to go NO contact. Story 4: you need to get rid of this girl. She doesn’t love you and is only using you.
