Entitled postal workers calls cops on Journalists First Amendment Audit

This was at the post office in Niles Illinois (847-967-1989). My first encounter was with a guy name Adolpho. He started to get loud,and obnoxious. I then heard a guy (Patrick)in the back tell all his co-workers that I had a right to record,and they still didn’t wanna accept it. So after going back and forth with the personnel,4 cops showed up.

People need to understand that there can be NO expectation of privacy in PUBLIC; especially when a public servant. The crazy thing is, they're on camera all day every day! Great audit James! You’re always so well spoken and professional. It was that stuffy customer at that counter that didn’t like you recording her that called the police, I’d about guarantee it! That Supervisor did a great job but he should have shut down the woman in red long before he did. Their is no expectation of privacy in public. PERIOD. It’s incredible how many people are afraid of one individuals camera when we are surrounded by 100’s of them every single day.

Adolfo the PUBLIC WORKER started the problem by ignoring his customer, engaging TTA James, raising his voice, then demanding James not record and yelling at him in the lobby...and ALL of what Adolfo did he DID in front of customers...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL on every level! And the woman in RED, Miss Patterson...she went out of her way TO TRY TO MAKE James' legal, lawful, constitutionally protected activity somehow WRONG or UNFAIR...really?...it's legal, it's lawful, it's constitutional, the highest court in America has also STATED CLEARLY that James and everyone else has every RIGHT to be there and do what he is doing.

What BOTH don’t understand is that NO ONE has an expectation of privacy in public and the post office IS a public space, AND the other thing they don’t KNOW is that even they TOO have freedom of the press.
