MIL child pressure story. I think for now keep the status quo, but OP should let her own mother know in no uncertain terms it's not happening, and if either mother brings it up again then put it all on the table, by (if possible) calling both mothers into the same room with her and her husband present and just say no, it's not happening, now drop it.

Last Story: What's wrong with being single? I personally don't see why this sister needs to jump into another relationship. If she wants to be single again, then by golly, be single. There should be nothing wrong with that. There should be 0 reason why people have the belief that you always need to be in a relationship. Neither OP or this sister are the jerks. These parents needs to leave the sister alone. Let her make her own decisions.

best way to pay off a loan? get another loan to pay off the first loan!

It can work if the second loan has a lower interest rate, or to consolidate multiple loans into one single one. The later helped me when I was getting overwhelmed handling making multiple payments. Thankfully that was years ago and it's all paid off now.

Last story: Queen Victoria mourned and grieved her husband's passing for 60 years. During that mourning and grieving, she remained a strong single mother and ruled a wholeass country during a time where women weren't really suited to many kinds of work, let alone ruling. She has a number of attempts on her own life and survived each one and she never gave in to despair. And she was never intrested in having another husband, even if it would have been better for the throne. And no one tried to force her into it! The widow in this story has had years to try and come to terms, she's been through therapy, she's raised her child at least well enough from what we heard, and if she's not ready to move on then no one should be trying to force her. We're in a much more modern age than Queen Victoria, how are people still so concerned that an unwed mother is automatically a bad mother? I tip my metaphorical hat to this sister
