last story: "I wasn't mentally prepared for that answer." is valid. And then you shut up and deal with your own problems like a normal person. I got a depression support cat who I was very close to as a teenager. Then a couple months later we were told in biology that we would dissect a cat. I wasn't prepared for that but I proceeded to say 'that is bad timing for me' and turned my mind to scientific curiosity. Because that's life.

There are numerous things wrong with the stepdad in the first story. 1 That isn’t ocd, that is controlling. 2 15 years is a large age gap and what will stop him from going for someone younger in a few years 3 there are few places where everyone deserves privacy, one is their phone/journal and the other is their room. 4 why does he want to be able to barge into someone’s room whenever he wants 5 imagine op had younger siblings that would be unbearable 6 organized is different than shoving everything into the closet. Yet shoving everything into a closet is how he views organized 7 if op is female this gets a lot worse.

The first story reminded me of a story that happened to me recently, my brother kicked my door and broke it because he believed i took one of granola bars, i was ready to kick him down the stairs, what i ended up doing was he has a picnic table top for a door so i took the screws out of his door, and put the wood to the side, he broke my door I dismantled his, didnt destroy it i just took it apart all parts were completely in tact

story 1 :wtf is wrong with him. You aren’t the jerk. You’re an adult, so you shouldn’t need to have a curtain. Don’t give them the door. story 2 : you aren’t the jerk. It’s not your fault that you don’t want 6 people in the house, it’s reasonable that you don’t want them to move it. it’s YOUR house. Story 3 : you aren’t the jerk. It’s valid that you don’t want a homeless person knowing your address, even if you’re a normal person sleeping in my bed, nope. Just no. Sarah is a piece of shart. Story 4 : you aren’t. Those neighbors are stupid. They are probably murderers that don’t wanna get caught. (Jk, but there’s still a chance) it’s common sense to have security cameras in a dangerous neighborhood.

1st story: give them back the door in as many pieces you can manage(without destroying it). take the hinges off, take the doorknob off(extra points if you can take it apart). and set it all in the middle of the livingroom, let him put it back up himself. just make sure you have all your stuff packed up to go first, and leave 2 letters, one for each of them. "couldn't even cheat on dad with a halfway decent man", "have fun putting both doors back up"(+all but one of the screws for the door, and a replacement half length for it). story 2: your house your rules, if they cant take a no from refusing to let them stay there, what makes you think they will listen to any rules you set while they are living there. story 3: (my opinion)there are two things you dont fuck with, 1 someone's food, 2 someone's bed/bedroom unless you are willing to die. and most places would consider it self defense if you were to "harm" any trespassers, especially at that hour of the night. story 4: if they want that camera down so bad, they are probably planning on doing illegal shit. story 5: theft is theft, even if they return it, if he still wants to defend his mom, let him marry her. story 6: completely on her, you didnt know, and shes just upset.

Story 1: Henry is the evil stepfather and a total control freak. The OP should just go live with their dad. Also, they could just change clothes in the bathroom. I think even the mother would draw the line at having the bathroom door taken off. Story 4: I live in a house with multiple security cameras and no neighbors ever complained about them. The OP's neighbors can suck it up for another week.

The difference is I wouldn't unscrew it I'd tear the thing from the wall and when he mouthed off about it I'd give him a clear message not to F with me. It is NOT his house and his BS is over. Story 2 - F those "friends". Its YOUR house and Nobody will be there unless you Want them around. Story 3 - She is a fool. Kick. Her. OUT. She's putting you and your property in danger. That random guy should NEVER be any where near there. Story 4 - F what the neighbors think. You do what you want on your property. If they have such a problem with your video doorbell then they Are doing something illegal. Story 5 - She should NOT have a key. Dump him and press charges on her. She is an a-hole and a thief. My first boyfriend was twenty when we began dating. He could have been twelve for all the control his mother had over his life. She would take away the car HE paid for when he made her angry for any little thing. He wasn't ALLOWED to have a job. I have no idea how he ever had money, because he wasn't getting it from her. She made him leave his bedroom door open when I came over and would stand in the doorway and watch us for a bit every ten minutes or so. She told me once that she had already spoken to him and made it clear that he was NEVER to marry me...because a grown man who allows his mother to run his entire life is SO sexy that I was dying to be his wife, apparently. I overheard her tell him once that she shouldn't even be LETTING him date a black girl. Her boyfriend was also black. Make it make sense. One time, she grounded him for two weeks because he took me to dinner without asking her permission first. He wasn't allowed to be at my house after dark. What threw me the most was that he never seemed to push back in the slightest. He seemed terrified of her. I've always wondered what history led to that relationship dynamic.

Story 1: The OP is still a teenager, and the stepdad moved into the mother's house & is throwing his weight around. The mother clearly is the kind of parent who will choose their sexual partner's side over their own child's, as this has been going on for a long time by the sounds of it and it's only now that the OP has stood up for themselves, yet the mothers seen this and done nothing to make it clear to the step-dad that he will not speak to or treat her child like that. Story 2: Their house, their choice. The issue is the friends seem to forget that this is the OP's HOME not a place they rent, this is the place they own and call home. It's one thing if they all rent a space together and can just pack up and move if they cause too many problems with the owner/neighbours, but OP owns this place. So I'd make it clear that their previous rental history and how OP knows what they're like behind closed doors has shown them that their friends are unreliable tenants/guests. Story 3: This woman knows nothing about this homeless person, only what the homeless person has told them about themselves, which may not be the complete truth. Is it honourable that she wants to help someone less fortunate than herself? Yes. Should she be entitled to risk the OP's safety to do so? No. Additionally, the OP's room is their rented space, and the roommate has no legal or moral right to allow anyone to sleep in that space. The roommate has stripped the OP of any sense of safety or security in their shared housing. I'd ask local lawyers about rental contracts & provide them with mine, and if possible contact the landlord and let them know that the house-mate is allowing complete strangers who are homeless to know the address, come over, and sleep in my bed that I paid for when she thinks I won't be home. I'd ask to be let out of the lease on grounds of a genuine safety risk, and move out asap. Story 4: If someone has paid until the end of a specific month to rent a space, and already has permission from their landlord to have a ring doorcam then they're entitled to keep the little security they have up until the moment they leave. Neighbours being camera shy or doing illegal activities isn't something OP needs to tip-toe around. The friend is being ridiculous, it's not their safety that's at risk. Also, why are they so desperate that there are no camera's capturing their likeness? Story 5: WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP GIVING THEIR PARENT KEYS TO THEIR DWELLINGS? If OP knew the bf's mother had a key and he hadn't asked OP ahead of time if she agrees to the mother having a key, that's where she should have flipped her shit. They both pay rent, and both live there, it is THEIR space, not just his. He had no right to give her a key without her permission, and she has no right coming and going as she pleases in their space. Of course, she most certainly has no right going through and stealing the OP's belongings. The boyfriend not standing up for his gf is so utterly ridiculous, and he needs to move back in with his mommy if he can't respect his partner's privacy and belongings. Story 6: Rabbit meat isn't from pet bunnies, and just because a friend lost a pet doesn't mean everyone else has to change everything in their life. The majority of the world's population eats meat, and rabbit is just one of the many varied meats people eat. Also, if the OP didn't know this friend's pet rabbit died weeks prior then how exactly were they meant to know not to bring a food item that is considered common in their culture? Perhaps her entitlement is just because they're still mourning, or maybe they really are just that entitled normally.

As someone who has rabbits and doesnt eat rabbit as a matter of principle because of that, the friend in the last story is absolutely bonkers. From the way the story is written, op didnt even know the friends rabbit died until after she told her friend what she was eating. Not to mention the friend was all too willing to try the curry until op said what it was. If she is that neurotic about what people eat around her in such a sensitive period of life, why is she hanging around someone who eats rabbit regularly as a cultural dish? It doesnt make any sense.

My mom met this guy by the name of henry- Connection terminated. I'm sorry to interrupt you, Elizabeth- if you still even remember that name. You are not hеre to receivе a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume. Although, you have indeed been called. You have all been called here, into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection, and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit. A maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near, and somehow out of reach. But you will never find them. None of you will. This is where your story ends. And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you, Although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away. As every tragedy should. And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still, and give up your spirits. They don't belong to you. For most of you, I believe there is peace, and perhaps more waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened up to swallow you whole, So don't keep the devil waiting, old friend. My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry that on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms the way you lifted others into yours. And then what became of you. I should've known you wouldn't be content to disappear. It's time to rest, for you and for those you have carried in your arms. This ends for all of us. End communication.

Ha! I eat chicken all the time in front of my parrots, they eat it too. They love chicken, turkey. Am I the jerk for eating birds in front of my birds, then feeding it to them? I don't actually tell them they are eating their relatives, is that bad too?

Eh. In the animal kingdom, food is food. We humans see other humans as lose, our first instinct isn’t to eat it unlike other animals. I wouldn’t call you a jerk, the parrots may know they’re eating their species but eh, it’s free food am i right?

This is the second video where the OP has given a reason they dont do something and you ask why they dont do that thing. Do you even pay attention to the stories? Also I would sugest burning the door and either make sue they see it or take a video.

Story #3 - WTAF. No, Sarah, there is no judging and looking down on the man because he's homeless. There is the cold, hard reality that he could bring all kinds of illnesses and parasites as an unfortunate truth is being homeless leaves you exposed to these risks. Plus, you don't know what traumas John may have, what mental illnesses, etc. On top of that, homelessness can often be caused by mental illnesses, so John has a higher chance of having some undiagnosed issue. This is literally an incredibly unsafe thing to do. Bring food to him outside if you want, but inside needs to be discussed with everybody And him on the bed is unsanitary and dear lord what is WRONG with this woman?

My biological dad did that a couple of times after I slammed the door on him while he was drunk. He had an addiction and it sadly led to my parents divorcing. I don’t hold any grudges cause I’m not that kind of person but good god he was as asshole when drunk.

Dude, my dad had done the same and took the door to my room of it's hinges and it has been like that for 5 YEARS and didn't even put a curtain on the frame, until in 2019 he put the door back, and now we laugh at it but it has grown on me so much that I acually have a very small amount of doors compared to my rooms

This is my opinion on the first story of the original poster's already added to the age where their an adult technically they need to get the hell out of that house immediately maybe see if they can move in with their dad instead and let them understand how your dad as soon as I get a job I'll let you know when I'm able to pay rent and on top of that you won't have to worry about me under your roof because I'm sorry I can't take it with Mom or this dude anymore and I think you have to understand from my perspective this is kind of abusive

Last story: NTA. I mean, rabbits are commonly eaten in Asia, and I'm guessing the OP is Indian or South Asian judging by what she ate and where she's from. Anyways your friend is overreacting, even though I do feel bad for her pet passing away.

For the first one, je’s honestly being pretty tolerant. I mean, he barely even took anything, and if he has ocd, your literally tortering him, and he’s probably in physical pain when he sees mess.

The dude with the 3 bedroom house is absolutely an asshole. This is the first time I disagree with you. Let them move in. Set rules then if and when they break those rules you can say that you tried and they took advantage of you. At least that wat you attempted to help friends and who knows maybe they would be respectful of your home.

Story 2: You are the jerk, but I also see where you're coming from. You know your friends aren't good at keeping clean and you don't want them destroying your house, and that's completely fair and reasonable. However, saying that you'd only take them in with reservations if they're out on the streets is a cruel way to treat friends you claim to love. At the least, you could have offered to help them try to find a way to fix their situation if you truly care about them, rather than treating your friends like trash.

She never would have said that if her friends didn't feel entitled to her house. She said no they and they got pissed. She has no responsibility what so ever to take care of them. Judging by the way they had their homes they would have destroyed hers

Anyone else think narrator is way too quick to take the sides of OP on these stories? That’s what’s wonderful about Reddit stories is you only get one side and of course you’re always going to share your perspective. Like the first story. I’m more than willing to bet more is going on than what was being told. I don’t think the mother would just be ok with her daughters door being taken like that. Also annoying how the other person in every story is instantly labeled as “stupid”
