I would prefer you using shortening high ratio shortening instead of butter and I would make my icing a little thick so it doesn’t melt as fast and if you have a tent to keep some shade that works awesome

SIMPLY MAKE SMALLER QUANTITIES TO DISPLAY . HAVE YOUR CUPCAKES STORED (ICING CHILLED USING A DOUBLE COOLER SETUP TO REDUCE SEIZING) AND READY TO DESIGN BY THE HOUR ESPECIALLY IF YOU CAN DECORATE A DOZEN IN 10 MINS ( THIS WOULD ESSENTIALLY BE DONE EVERY 30 MINS TO BE READY FOR THE NEXT HR) Yes it seems like a chore but in a way its inventory controlling just say a certain flavor isnt sellin well you wont have to produce more the next hr. You brake down will also be esier ESPECIALLY IN THE HEAT and only the items ready for immediate sales. i hope that can aid in a method and i pray both you businesses THRIVE!

one thing i had to do is keep my actual product in a cooler with dry ice and make “fake bake “ that look just like them and keep those on display. and you can re use them for every event .

How did you get a food vending license? My town in W. Pa. has food inspection at local events and it is difficult to get approved. I doubt I could get away with decorating at the event bc you need an approved cooking location. 🫤

I would normally refrigerate the icing in it’s piping bags depending on how far the event is…so by the time I get there they are back at room temperature an ready for piping

I normally don’t….I make a good amount of flavors 2 dozen for each batch one dozen goes into the case display and the other cupcakes are in containers waiting to refill the display case…I never now what the crowd would be like so I would rather always have more then not have enough…and if I don’t sell out then I usually give some away or take to work and sell there

I'm in PA and we cannot sell food without a license. Food inspectors come to markets and events and you better have a license and approved paperwork. Get caught selling to someone and they get sick, you're going to get sued.💯

The best way to do it is to find one Pop Up Shop and then you’ll get other activities to pop up at other different locations you can try to search on Facebook or Instagram in your city

Actually they really don’t hesitate to buy when it’s in a bakery case they are more hesitant to buy when they have to walk directly up to a table and look to see what kind of cupcakes you are selling the fact that you can see my showcase from the other side of the parking lot and the different colors and flavors that I offer people love my set up I have been with other bakers that have their individual cupcakes wrapped in boxes and they barely sell anything … my customers love how I have set up everything because it’s like walking into an outdoor bakery they can come up to the window they see all the different flavors and they can pick and choose which ones they want
