@@kicn He was TOO honest, that was his problem. The dragons even said at the end, he should have incorporated the latter information into his pitch. But it was still a bit insulting to tell them, "The only thing I think you bring to the table is popularity because of this show". Because that is essentially what he meant when he told that they could help make his image "more robust". He wasn't coming to them because he thought they could open doors, bring fresh ideas, or help with marketing. I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt on the pub failing with him not in it, BUT this is a rare example of a guy who should have come into the Den. Signing those other deals, most likely changed the whole dynamic of the pitch he had planned, and it appears he didnt recongise that. The other thing I would say is, "crowd funding" when you have two big drinks industry expert and (in theory) a Dragon on board, should be a no no, crowd funding is seed capital, and suitable for a small business. That is not a business I would wish to crowd fund with, simply because there are already people in there who are seeking to make a profit. FINALLY this a rock and roll /counter culture product, and sometimes going public, and making the more business side of it public, can tarnish that image.
@helpfulron2 жыл бұрын
Where are they now? The company is still around and selling on their website, in stores, and online platforms like Amazon. They got crowd funding in 2019 and seem to be doing okay since the appearance on the show really helped with sales. No word on their profitability but social media and website are up to date meaning they are still running it day-to-day.

There's definitely more room for drinks products that are branded using rock and metal bands. This is especially true after Maneskin won Eurovision with their rock song and that video of their winning song got a huge amount of views online. If branded properly, these kinds of drinks could do extremely well at rock and metal concerts and will sell extremely well in Europe where rock and metal and guitar based bands have received a resurgence with the public. Adverts featuring the band seen in this video could do well.

@TheManInBlueFlames2 жыл бұрын
The point is that many years ago that look and sound was rare and was outlawed and not seen as socially acceptable.It became acceptable but then mainstream trash music came along, pop and electronic, which destroyed that industry. @Jessica73182 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. It's one thing if time has passed, the other investors have made a noticeable difference to the business, and as a result, the current project offered to the dragons is more appealing than it would have been alternatively. But that's not what happened here. If the business had grown in value because these other 2 investors had their impact, the dragons probably still would question why they have to pay more to get involved than the investors X amount of time before them. But this is a same-day issue heh.
@nmode74202 жыл бұрын
What has happened here is, he organised to be on the show probably weeks or months prior. At the last minute, he secured investment from 2 key players. He no longer needed investment from the dragons, but was still locked into appearing on the show. So from there, I think he intentionally burnt investment possibility, and used it to gain publicity instead.
