Gotcha! The easiest thing may be unlinking or signing out of your KZbin account and then reconnecting it from within Ecamm. Then, inside KZbin Studio beta making sure the settings match up. Very informative information. I’m use to live streaming via FB as a beauty influencer, but I want to start a bellydance fitness class. If I wanted to incorporate ecamm into a zoom class, can I have multiple students over 5? I heard ecamm only allows up to 5 guest. Also can I broadcast in FB, KZbin, and IG at the same time. I’m expecting a mixer, usb speakers for my music, and rode go wireless mic and appropriate cords. At this time I can’t afford another camera ( I have a cannon 70D), nor webcam. So I’m thinking about streaming with my iPhone 11 Pro in wide screen, and run the music from my MacBook Pro which is from 2007. Since I’ve watched your video, get the pro, ( to use the virtual cam) or should use my iPhone 11 Pro since the camera is awesome. I’d appreciate if you’d please advice me on what to use? 😊 I have subscribed!

Two things you didn’t cover which I had questions about. First, if you have the pro version and you do the guest interviews, do those guests also need ecamm installed on their side In order to join the session. Second, you mentioned the pro version allows for a producer type scenario where someone can monitor audio and manage comment streaming while you are Presenting. Does that second person, performing the producer role, also need ecamm Pro installed? Another way to say it, if I am paying the monthly fee for each ecamm pro And I have one or more people assisting me with the production side, or perhaps it’s a show hosted by multiple people, does that require each of us to pay this monthly membership or do we only need one membership for a single live stream, no matter how many people are acting as a producer?
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
At the time I recorded this video, Interview mode wasn't released yet so that's why nothing was shared relating to Interview Mode. Guests do not need to have Ecamm Live, they can join via a phone or via their computer. Chrome is best when connecting via Desktop. When I mentioned production tools in this video I'm referring to let's say for example you're having a setup where you are hosting a small event and you have a team member managing the live stream and maybe a confidence monitor setup, etc. A more in-depth Producer Mode will be releasing soon within Ecamm Live that will have more features but none of the latest additions to Ecamm Lives services require you to have multiple Ecamm Live accounts. If you have a second computer running Ecamm Live in your setup, you would just sign into your existing Ecamm Live account. Some of the questions you asked are compounded on one another so I'm not sure if that addresses all your concerns but if you have any specific service functionality questions, I'd definitely recommend reaching out to Ecamm's customer support.

My camera and lens are in the description but as far as a wide angle lens for the 80D with a blurry background won’t be cheap honestly. The Canon EF-S 24mm f2.8 will give you a little bit of a blurry background but you will need to sit the camera back a bit. amzn.to/2K6Npwh

AFR Yeah, if that’s the ONLY feature you want, I would say consider using a capture card or something for the one time purchase price for sure. However, I am retesting an option that may work, just gotta make sure the steps in the tutorial are dialed in but might have a free option that will work. Gotta test it though. Hi Diana, thanks for the video. Do you know if ecamm has options to help manage higher-volume chat? We just started livestreaming and we get as many as 1,500 concurrent viewers so our chat box is really overwhelmed. When streaming through KZbin, I keep it on "top chat" or sometimes only on "super chats" to minimize the number of comments scrolling across the screen. I love the idea of being able to put peoples' comments on the screen but if the comments are scrolling at full speed, I don't think that we'll be able to easily find and click on those comments. Do you know if there are any features like "pause chat" or "top chat only" or "slow mode" or anything like that?
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
That's a really great question! It has a scroll feature built into the comment box. It's keeps the comments in order of the real time comments coming in but it won't force you scroll to the bottom. So, when you have a lot of comments, it's much easier to keep pace with where you left off at or scroll past certain comments if you want. That way you don't lose your place when you're reading comments or you can scroll back up to the top if you want. It's pretty easy to manage that way.

Hello Diana I Love your videos. I've been watching your videos and Im impressed with your content and progress! You inspire me! Oh yeah, and Im also a subscriber on my other channel. I have a question about ecamm live. While I do understand its a "live streaming software", do you use it to "record only" (and upload later) all your youtube videos or podcast moving forward? Or do you still record your podcast the traditional way? How about using ecamm to record podcast? I ask because I want to start creating content for youtube and podcasting. I have the equip, camera, mic, mixer, ipad, etc..Even for video podcasting, can you use ecamm live to record(not live) or is it better to use the traditional setup if Im not going "live" but want to to do video podcast? All that being said, keep in mind I dont mind going "live" sometimes and but was looking at ecamm for its quality and flexibility.

Learn so much from your videos thanks! Please clarify, can I use my M50 on the standard level? Also, if I added a second camera, Can I also use the Standard level or do I have to purchase Pro level? Thx
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
So, on either plan you can connect and use your M50 for streaming. The difference of getting a Pro account is so you can stream with a camera like the M50 to a program like Zoom or something and still use your M50 via USB. However, Canon has created the Webcam Utility program to do that so it's kind of not needed any longer just for the sake of sharing that feed as the only reason to upgrade. So, standard should work just fine for you.

Hey Bob sorry you’re having that issue. I haven’t used the specific user interface you have but I have used my Mac with a Behringer audio interface. In your sound preferences once it’s connected to your computer it should come up and you select it. Even in QuickTime I’m able to select it as the audio source. The only person on YT that I know has used a similar device is a music producer here on KZbin named Jon Sine. I’d message him on IG too and see if you get a response but he has a lot of content about audio connections and such and uses a Mac as well. Maybe he even had something in his channel from his vlogs that night show you but that’s the best I can offer. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Hi! If all I have is my canon camera, mic, and MacBook pro and I use ecamm live how do I screen share on Google meet or Zoom? Thanks!
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
So, you'll want to make sure you have a data capable USB cable so that Ecamm recognizes your camera. Make sure your Virtual Camera feature is enabled (Output > Virtual Cam > On.) When you go to Zoom or Google Meet, if you want to share your Ecamm live camera or whatever you share in Ecamm, in Zoom/Google Meet you will need to select "Ecamm Live Virtual Camera" as the camera source.

Thank you so much for this excellent review! I just did a livestream yesterday with OBS, and the setup alone was nightmarish when adding a Skype guest. My biggest concern is audio. Do you find the audio output of Ecamm to be of a high quality? As a musician, it's my biggest concern.
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
My pleasure!! ☺️ As a fellow musician, saxophonist, I can tell you the audio is great coming from Ecamm Live and that to make sure the audio stays that way when adding in a Skype guest, they want to make sure they're connected via Ethernet vs Wifi and use a good mic. Ecamm does a great job audio wise, but there's no helping if the Skype connection itself is having issues and that person drops or something. But you also have the Skype call recorder for Ecamm which is really cool You have your solo video, their solo video, and the audio. So, if you needed to do any backups you have that as well. But at best, if you have ethernet connections your audio should be great.

Diana are you streaming from a MacBook or iMac? I'm preparing to stream with a 2019 MacBook Pro. My Mac fans sound like a freight train spilling the sound over into my mic feed. Any pointers?
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I use a MacBook Pro and if your fan is kicking on chances are while you’re streaming you have a ton your computer is struggling to process. I’d see how much RAM is running while it’s doing that and consider limiting some programs being open. So, if you have 8GB of RAM and 6 or 7 GB is being used, close out a few things. If that can’t be helped, I’d consider switching the type of microphone to one that rejects background noise better. Dynamic Cardioid Podcasting style microphones do a great job at rejecting background noise. That’s why I use the Samson Q2U because it’s great at rejecting any background noise. So if I do need to start running more programs while streaming and the fan kicks on, its not picked up in the stream.

Nope, not that I’m aware of. Unless you’re using something like the Sony Xperia pro or some app on your phone, just directly connecting the two won’t do anything if your phone can’t read external camera sources.

New sub here First off. I recently started using ecamm pro. It’s great. However I cannot seem to find how to stream to multiple platforms without using restream. When I used stage ten, I could easily select all the places I wanted to stream to. Any ideas? PS: your flow is masterful. Thank you!

Currently, Ecamm doesn't have it natively built -in to stream to multiple platforms. So, right now you'd have to use Restream.

You can connect your camera with the Standard account. The pro account offers the ability to share your virtual camera feed using Ecamm Live in places like zoom. But just to connect the camera and use it for videos and live streams, Standard will work just fine.

Thanks for all that you do. You have on my fav top I've see you in. The Ecamm looks good. I will get it after I start live streaming more. I've been amping up lately just to warm up to it. I know I need to plan topics so I'm not fishing for something to say. The other part is I'm just uncomfortable live streaming but I want to do it. LOL I didn't know Ecamm is a subscription . Thanks for the information. Oh ! I can't remember but did you start streaming in the beginning with the Canon M50? I know you are cheating on us with Sony now ( hehe) But I can't remember . Keep up the good work.

Lol I started live streaming a long time ago on a Logitech c920 first actually and using BeLive and KZbin later on lol Then my first streams with a camera were with my Panasonic G85 and Ecamm Live then the M50 - she was last on the list lol It didn’t used to be a subscription back in the day, but once nearly every online platform started going to subscription based they held out for a long time but finally switched over. Financially though, it’s worked out better cuz we get way more features and updates sooner. Lastly, it’s stages to getting comfortable live streaming. So, like anything else, it’s a process. Start off with small short streams, like 5-7 minutes. It didn’t have to be a training, but start building up that streaming muscle. Lastly, I bought this shirt on a humbug lol but it was different and I liked that lol Turned out to be one of my favorites.

hi diana! thanks for the video. Does Ecammlive have a preview for my media content before taking it live. like i position my logo first before its seen on the stream.
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
Before you go live you can setup the system of how you plan to run your live stream and save it (and change it on the fly as you need to in real-time if you ever need to) through the Scenes and overlay features. Then, there is an Output menu option if you need to review your display on a separate monitor. So, you'll be able to see you media and set everything up before you go live and position your logo wherever you want on the screen.

Thank you for the video. We interview guests (usually 2-3 people are in the video) but don't live stream the interviews. Can we do that with Ecamm Live? Currently, we use Skype to do the interviews and use the Ecamm's call recorder then we edit the multiple tracks using iMovie or Final Cut Pro X). Now we are considering using Ecamm Live just for functionality. We're trying to see if Ecamm Live will help in reducing the time to edit videos. Thoughts? Thanks for your help.
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
My pleasure!! 😊 Yes! You can interview guests without actually being live. What you'd do is instead of selecting Facebook or KZbin for the live streaming option in the bottom right of the viewing screen inside Ecamm Live, you will select from that same dropdown box option "Record Only". This feature will still allow you to use everything within Ecamm Live without actually going live to a platform and it will automatically save to your computer. Using the Record Only features is exactly how I recorded this exact video and nearly all of my videos at my desk. The only difference vs the Call Recorder on Ecamm Live is that the Call recorder will record the audio and video files separately so you can have multiple variations. Versus when you use the Record Only natively within Ecamm Live, however you're live mixing the video, that's what is produced. So, I use this to my benefit so if I want to put both myself and my guests on screen I can do that or if I want the guest full screen, then I will click the button to bring the guest full screen. This saves me a ton of time when it comes to actually editing.

@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
Hey applelover53 I don't have a specific guide on Ecamm Live tutorials and it's not listed in the Livestreaming guide but I am sitting down to record and edit some videos today. So, that one is a very easy fix. So, I'll record that video tutorial and upload it to the channel within the next couple days for ya! But to try and walk you through that real quick, what you're seeing when you start ecamm live is your camera right? Right in the top middle of your screen where you see yourself displayed there is a little icon. One looks like a camera, the other looks like a computer monitor icon, the third one looks like some film and has a little play button in it. Once you see those, when you click on the middle option, the one that looks like a computer monitor, it will share your screen. Let me know if you found the button or if you need a bit more help with that until the tutorial drops!

Hello. I saw your videos about which is the best to live stream on my macbook pro. I've been at this for a week. Trying to live stream a cellphone game called final fantasy war of the vision. I thought blue stacks would be the way to go. I'm having a hard time getting my webcam over my display image. OBS also slows down my computer. I'm literally on edge, about to break my phone and computer. Because this should be soooo simple, and the fact its not is ridiculous.
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
The only streaming software I’ve done tutorials about is Ecamm Live. Not sure what blue stacks is and I have never taught in OBS so not sure how to help you with those. As far as Ecamm Live goes, if you have an iPhone, you can connect that to your computer and share the screen and audio from Ecamm. Beyond that, that’s all you would have to do.

The recent updates with the M1 Mac computers allow you to capture a feed that's the finished product with everyone in it and the option to have isolated audio and video depending on how many camera angles you're pulling off. Just make sure your computer meets the requirements and you're good to go.

Hello, I have a question please. I just want to stream my recorded videos on Facebook do I have to use ecamm Pro or standard?
@DianaGladney2 жыл бұрын
If you mean to just play a recorded video while live, you can do that with the standard plan. If you're referring to the live stream only playing a scheduled pre-recorded video, the service doesn't do that at all. For a long-time Facebook has frowned upon that stating it was against their rules. I haven't checked the latest updates on that but it may still be a thing. Restream, if I recall correctly, will allow you to schedule and pre-recorded video and stream the recorded video automatically. So, if that's what you're looking to do, that may be the route for you.
@Sarahlife-o5i2 жыл бұрын
@@DianaGladney Thank you this is what I want to do send a pre recorded video on Facebook to show as if it was a live video. So do you think I can use ecamm? standard

Okay, yeah I’d check with Facebook current standards on that first just so you don’t your page or profile in a negative standing on Facebook. Ecamm doesn’t operate in that way. You’d still have to be present at your computer to start the live stream.

Thank you, Awesome video. I'm using a Sony a7iii camera, what other software do I need beside Ecamm; do I need a capture card!
@DianaGladney4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad the video was helpful. The capture card is specifically for if you want to live stream using your camera. Ecamm has now made it available where you can use other brands, including Sony, without the need of a capture card but I think since the camera already has clean HDMI out, it's worth getting one. That way if you only have a Zoom call, you don't need to run Ecamm for the virtual camera just to share you cameras feed. So, I use Ecamm because of how incredible it is but I also have a capture card so I am not reliant on running it to stream my cameras feed.

@@AmadoWildlifeVideos Nope, if your camera has clean HDMI out and you're using a capture card, you don't need to run Ecamm at all. The Heart Of A Villain Yeah, the pro account is the one that has the virtual camera feature. Unless you take some other route like Sparkocam or something. But if you’re doing Skype for interviews, you can bring them into Ecamm and just use a standard account. That’s already built into the software too. The virtual camera feature is like if you want to share that canon feed via USB as a web cam online, like in a Streamyard or Zoom call. That’a what that’s used for. Do a free trial and you can see if it’s worth it for you or not.
