Damn straight. My Father & I are both Mechanics who've worked on BMW's always. My Father also worked for BMW as technician at the main Dealer in our city. We also collect and restore BMW's, and currently have at least a dozen in our collection (you stop counting to stay sane! 🤣) Having owned, and still owning, a huge number of BMW's in my time, including early & late models, and having worked on them as my occupation for decades, I can confirm as FACT that later BMW's, just like other manufacturers' products including Mercedes, are not of the same quality after 2005, give or take, when economics not quality became the overriding priority. BMW's of the E32's era, for example, were built with pride to show that German Engineering was unsurpassed. They were over-engineered to the best standard possible for a mass produced vehicle at the time. You won't see cars like that again. It's all planned & built-in obsolescence now.

Diese Grazie, diese Eleganz, diese zeitlose Schönheit. Als wenn es eine schöne Frau wäre... Und -Technologisch gesehen, braucht man nicht mehr. Der E32 hatte alles, was wichtig ist, an Bord oder als Extra. Nach dem E32 und dem Nachfolger E38 noch, war BMW fertig. Die Katastrophe begann 2001 mit dem Bangle-Desaster E65. Der heutige 7er G70 ist dagegen ein Monster direkt aus Frankensteins-Designlabor. Vollgepumpt mit Elektronik, die ständig kaputt und in wenigen Jahren wegen Ersatzteilmangel nicht reparabel sein wird. Dann wird er weggeschmissen und eingeschmolzen als Bierdose im Supermarktregal enden. Da gehört er auch hin. Wo ist BMW nur hingekommen.

Das wohl genialste und zeitloseste Design und Fahrzeug, welches BMW je gebaut hat. Auch nach 30 Jahren wirkt es noch modern.

Ein schönes auto, sicher. Aber zeitlos? Nicht wirklich. Sieht schon ziemlich verlatet aus im heutigen strassenbild. Und ist im allem unterlegen.

Nicht in allem - in der Verarbeitungsqualität und der Materialqualität ist dieses Auto allen heutigen bzw. nachfolgenden Generationen überlegen.

@@AMGmachine Unterlegen ist da gar nichts, Qualität stimmt Design stimmt zusammen mit dem e34 die schönsten BMWs. Ein Navigationsgerät ist das einzige worüber man sprechen könnte. Habe meinen e34 Bj95 immer noch neben einen neuen g30 und der ist nach all den Jahren wie neu. Natürlich auch eine Sache der Pflege.

Und Heute 2024 kann man sagen der e32 und e34 sind die schönsten klassischsten Limos die es Weltweit gibt.

Sehr informativer Film. Kannte bisher nur den 7er Werbefilm der zum Verkaufsstart heraus kam. Ich besitze seit 1992 einen 3l 8 Zylinder. Also damals neu gekauft. Hab jetzt ziemlich genau 300 Tausend runter. Gutes Auto, aber etwas Kleingeld ist schon nötig.😀

Sie haben im Verhältnis am Ende ein günstiges Auto gekauft; andere hätten hier schon fünf bis 10 mal getauscht. Dann darf auch mal etwas kaputt gehen. Habe meinen E32 jetzt knapp 6 Jahre; ein tolles Auto.

BMW aus der Zeit wo sie sich um den Hirschplatz bemüht hatten. Was daraus kam, war Gold wie dieser E32, und dann E38 und E39. Nun schwimmen sie im Erfolg und vergessen dabei den damaligen Kampfgeist. Daraus kommt heute nur noch Schrottblech dass zwar sehr schön aussieht, rostet aber schon nach nur 3 Jahren wie F10/11. Motor hält auch nur noch zum Bestehen der Garantiezeit wie der N63 (TÜ). Traurig.

Das liegt daran, dass man oft denkt,dass das neue besser sei bzw. das Graß grüner als zuvor sein müsse; was natürlich nicht stimmt. Denn wenn das Gras erstmal richtig grün ist wird es nicht mehr grüner. Übertragen kann man sagen bei diesem Auto ist das Graß satt grün und grüner wurde es nicht mehr bzw. wird es wohl auch in Zukunft nicht mehr werden. Soll heißen, dass dieses Auto wohl das mit Abstand beste Auto ist was BMW jemals gebaut haben wird. Der E38 ist auch noch ganz gut ragt aber nicht an die Qualität des E32/E31 heran. Professor Reitzle hat hier mit seinem Team eine außergewöhnliche Arbeit geleistet vielen Dank für dieses Fahrzeug bzw. diese Fahrzeuge 🙏.

The were done testing most of the components like coling systems, heating, and so on. Then prof reitzle went out and about to change the design, he went all the way up to be boss and made recommendations and they were granted. They made the car wider by 40mm,the changed from square lights to the round ones, they added the 12 cylinder and they had to spend about 300 million in retooling in the factory. But it was definitely worth it. Mercedes was confused when this model was introduced, because all the testing was done in the original prototype. It was crowded car of the year.

The E32 had a 5.0 legendary V12 engine available in around September 1987. It was the first German post world war 12 cylinder producing a (then) powerful 300bhp. It was also electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 MPH). BMW claimed that it would reach 186 MPH if delimited. It also was the first car to feature a traction control system (ASC), following on from the ABS braking system developed by Mercedes and BMW in 1978 through Bosch. The car was also the first to feature projector headlamps (super ellipsoidal headlamps) in 1986. In 1990, the E32 was the world's first car to feature Xenon headlamps. The higher spec models such as the 750iL usually also featured Electronic Damper Control which adjusted the suspension in milliseconds to adapt various road conditions and driving styles. This was also switchable to a comfort or sport mode depending on the preference. This was quite an innovation in the late 80s. The car also featured a check control system with visual warnings and text messages on the dashboard which warned the driver should any issues arise. A state of the art diagnostics system was also designed to minimise downtime and diagnose issues if required. The car was in development since 1979, and it was BMW's aim to produce the 'best car in the world'. The development costs would have equalled around 700 million pounds. The initial 730i/iL and 735i/iL (6 cylinder) models would be introduced in 1986. V8 models (730i and 740i/iL, for example) would also follow in 1992. Other innovations included heated door locks, mirrors and windscreens which switched on automatically when the temperature dropped. The wiper arm also had a system which applied varied pressure as the car approached motorway speeds to prevent the wiper blades from lifting off. The BMW 750iL HighLine (an option from 1989) also featured the world's first 4 zone climate control with a fridge in between the rear seats with 2 drinking glasses. Standard 750iL models would have featured automatic dual zone climate control with temperature stratification. These cars was also built using state of the art technology to reduce windnoise, roadnoise and enhance comfort. ambient noise levels was around 64db at nearly 75mph. These cars were tested quite a lot by BMW (nearly 4 million miles) to show how their quality measured up in real life. I obviously may have missed quite a bit of innovation as there are too many to list off the top of my head. All in all, this car was a true pioneer in many ways, and is still a legend for collector's even after more than 30 years since it debuted.

Ein Glück das diese Potthässlichen Airbag Lenkräder heute verschwunden sind. Sogar beim 911er hat man damals die hässlichsten Teile gehabt.

ich find an den lenkrädern nix hässlich. so sahen die lenkräder damals aus egal ob ein airbag drin war oder nicht. da find ich es heute schlimmer das heutzutage in jedem 0815-Auto ein 3-speichenlenkrad verbaut wird. 3-speichenlenkräder gehören für mich in sportliche autos und nicht in einen VW Polo, Opel Corsa oder Dacia Sandero.
