I’ve had one of these fitted for about 4 years now. When I moved into my new home which is owned by a housing association I was so upset and distraught because within 2 months I noticed that mould was growing all on my furniture and it was so bad that my clothes were even starting to grow mould on them too and my dress shoes had completely turned green!! There was so much condensation on the windows on a morning I went out and bought a window vac and was shocked just how much water I was collecting each day from each room. Mould was growing faster than grass in the rooms and my health was taking a hit as I’m registered disabled and the damp was effecting my mental state too. So after a fight with my housing association who said open my widows as there is no air circulation in the building, well that would be fine if it was summer but it was in winter and we had really bad weather and they expected me to warm my house with those awful night storage heaters then open my windows to let all of the heat out! So after many heated arguments they eventually contacted envirovent and this chap came out did a survey then a engineer came and fitted the unit in my loft and to be honest I didn’t expect to see any difference but how wrong I was. The following morning there was little if no condensation on my windows my home felt fresher and to this day I’ve had no more mould nor condensation in my home, it’s amazing it really is. Thank you envirovent this product gets a massive thumbs up from me👍.

Took 1 day for the water to disappear off all my windows and the mould to stop growing. House is genuinely warmer which seems at odds with blowing cold air from loft into house, have reduced central heating temp by quite a bit.

I have this system in my home. The Humidity has reduced dramatically and the Condensation problems on the ceilings walls, doors and windows have all disappeared. On the down side, my Home is never warm, it's always cold because the system draws Cold / Freezing air into your living space from the loft which in turn gets ventilated from Out-Side. There is a small heater in the system that is designed to raise the temperature of the air blown into the living space to just above dew-point. This raise in temperature is hardly noticeable to the feel, so the air still feels Cold. It's like having a window open on a cold day. Finally. If your neighbours are cooking strong odour foods or doing something else which causes an odour. You too will share your neighbours household odour. Summary: Damp and Moisture Gone. Smelly and Cold House now. ( You Can't Win Can You ?) ..

How do you get cooking smells into your house? Mine draws air from the loft space. I’m not sure how cooking smells would enter a loft space🤔

I agree about the cold air that comes through these units. Housing association put ours in but no instructions if it had to be serviced or anything plus where does the water go that it takes out of the air?

I read that these also have a heater that heats the air as it passes into the house to take the chil off the air.

The heater is crap. Does nothing. It will be cold air. If you're lucky the dryer air might make the house feel warmer but don't count on it.

Blows all the the cold air from the roof space in to your house which in turn blows the heat out, the heater in them are worthless,

The heater is crap. Bit of a joke this device. Better to get a MHRV system retrofitted.

This is a fan not heat recovery unit therefore warm air from the inside is being wasted. From what I have seen on your presentation you are not extracting the air outside the property. This means the unit will throw all this moist warm air to the attic. This area is not insulated in most British houses which are very unefficient compare to European houses. Warm air in the attic will cause condensation and damp problems. If your unit doesn't have heat exchanger the air from the attic is filtered only not dried . From your presentation you will have warm moist filtered air delivered back to the interior. When temp exciding 25degC it will be ambient temp air filtered and during the cold weather it will be cold filtered air delivered to the inferior. I think you forgot about where you live, this is the rain and mold island not much direct sun. Usless system which will destroy the attic area and deliver cold moist air back to the interior. Rubbish presentation and you have no clue about heat recovery and ventilation.

This isn’t a heat recovery system and they don’t claim it is, there is no inverter. It’s a pressure system to draw fresh air in and it’s filtered. It drives out stale musty air and the condensation disappears.

It'll be dry filtered air pumped into a central location like the landing space upstairs but the air is cold. Bit of a hit & miss solution.

No need for a PIV system. Just open your windows from time to time and problem solved. Windows are not a feature, they are there for a reason

Sorry but you’re wrong. I’ve lived in the same well insulted house for 4 years. Trickle vents on the windows and windows left open quite a lot. Loads of condensation on all the windows and black mould forming on frames and window reveals. Put a PIV in 24 hours ago, 5 degrees outside, windows closed, heating on and now ZERO condensation! It works as a system.

@@cerec69 I'm thinking of getting kne of these systems. Does it blow cold air into house like some people are suggesting?
