The Drimaster-Eco Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) system from Nuaire will cure your condensation dampness problems and improve your indoor air quality (IAQ). Follow this simple video guide created by ventilation manufacturer Nuaire, and install your low-energy Drimaster Eco system quickly and successfully.
Your Drimaster-Eco PIV system is designed to be mounted in the loft space where it draws fresh air through the G4 grade filters, and inputs it at ceiling level into the home. Positive Pressurisation is the most effective method of retrofit whole-home ventilation and is a tried and trusted cure for condensation dampness. The principle introduces a constant flow of fresh, filtered air into the home, which lowers humidity levels and so prevents streaming windows and black mould patches from forming. It creates a dry, allergen-free environment that is great for asthma and allergy-sufferers. The G4 grade filters are fine enough to prevent pollen entering the home - good news for hay fever sufferers.
The Nuaire Drimaster Eco heat model has all the controls for the fan in the ceiling diffuser, so you can commission and adjust the settings without having to enter the loft. A 400w low-energy heater tempers the air delivered into your home. Electrically-controlled, it minimises energy-use.
The Drimaster Eco features handy wireless controls and sensors which respond to changing humidity and CO2 levels, to ensure the best indoor air quality, and to help you save energy.
The PIV principle was invented by Nuaire back in 1972! Since then, our iconic Drimaster range has become the most popular method of retrofit ventilation, and is the most effective way of controlling indoor air pollutants from burning fuels; using cleaning, beauty and DIY products; and smoking. Drimaster Eco is also a specified method of controlling Radon Gas levels in affected regions in the UK. Find out more at www.nuaire.co.uk/drimastereco

I have this exact unit.. it's brilliant,stops all damp and condensation..I do get a bit of hot loft smell before it cuts out on the thermo switch ( normally springtime when it gets hot outside but fans still running) and in the winter I have the fan speed on 3 or even lower at 2 because even when the heater is turned up to full, you still get a coldish air chill from the diffuser..in turn making my landing cold and making my hallway central heating rad stat cut in more often than I'd like..however other than that I really love it.

Our loft gets much warmer than our house as it gets much more solar heat. The upstairs floor gets warmer than the ground floor. I am thinking of installing one of these mainly to circulate heat from the loft to the ground floor (rather than to cure condensation). Would this unit work well? If so would I be best having the outlet on the ground floor ceiling rather than under the loft on the landing?

Hi, I live in a dormer bungalow where 2 rooms have been built into the loft space. There is a section of loft space above the central hallway which is approx 2.6m x 1.6m. The volume of this loft space is approx 2.6m3. This is where i inted to install the PIV unit. Will a PIV unit still work properly despite the small loft space available? Is there a minimum loft space required for these to work?

How important is it to centrally locate the diffuser? My ceiling spans the stars and landing, and the centre is right under some joists. The roof is also a pyramid type shape and so it's awkward to locate due to the slope of the roof. Any advice is gratefully appreciated. Really looking forward to getting it in.

My Nuaire Drimaster vent has begun to create black sooty deposits on the ceiling around the vent. I have had my Drimaster unit for arvit l about 18 months, so I assume the filters need cleaning, but I've removed them and can't see much dust inside them. Should I wash them with water and then leave them to dry before refitting them, or should I just vacuum them. If vacuuming, do I vacuum the inside or the outside? Thanks.
@NuaireGroup
@NuaireGroup 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message. If black dust becomes visible around the outlet diffuser, it is sometimes due to a filter becoming dislodged in some way and would recommend checking that they are secure. The filters require very little maintenance and we recommend that they are replaced every 5 years. They can be vacuumed or cleaned periodically if necessary. Hope this helps, a user guide can be found in the downloads section of our website that may be helpful: www.nuaire.co.uk/downloads

Most lofts are naturally ventilated on the sides where the roof tiles end. If yours is not, then they do a unit that has a separate duct that you can run to atmosphere.

Installed one of the heat versions of this yesterday with the help of my son in law although had a qualified electrician do the electical bits prior Bought mine from i-sells and when it arrived the back part of the fused spur box that comes with it was smashed despite being in bubble wrap. Contacted i-sells who got Nuaire to send me a replacement but despite giving them the serial number of the unit they sent me a 1 amp fused spur as opposed to the 3 amp that should be supplied. Also when I originally opened the box the PCB for the display unit was lying loose in the box and simply wouldn't stay in place when fitted into the diffuser. Every time you touched it during the installation it fell out and in the end we had to superglue it in place. Watching the video above the heater unit simply slots and clicks into place on the diffuser however in my case we had to use a lot of force to get it in as the plastic casing on the heater unit prevented it from dropping low enough to catch on the lugs of the diffuser. Additionally in the video above it shows the flexible ducting easily slipping over the heating unit and fan unit but in reality we needed a lot of force to get it over and actually tore part of the ducting whilst doing up. Thankfully we managed eventually to get enough over the units to prevent the tears being an issue. Will see how it works in terms of reducing condensation in the coming weeks but hopefully will be worth the effort and cost.

Hi, if I install this unit, can I throw away my extractor in the bathroom?
@NuaireGroup
@NuaireGroup 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, Provided the bathroom is directly accessible from the central landing/hallway and has an opening window then you do not need to use a bathroom extract. You can keep your extract fan as it will only help the Positive Input Ventilation system but it is not essential. If the room is remote from the landing/hallway or has a window which cannot be opened then the extract fan should stay and be left on continuously to help the PIV. If you would like further information about our Drimaster-Eco PIV system please contact our sales team on 02920858500.

These thigs are terribly cold My housing association has installed one(on cold setting 24 hours a day) in my tiny bungalow ,In the kitchen, there's 5-7 degrees difference from living room to kitchen so when opening living room door cold comes in !! . Ignorance on my arrogant landlords part as there's a passage way between kitchen and bathroom !! and who wants to be running 400 watts per hour in this energy state were in at the moment . Ignorant tenants, landlords and homeowners are the cause of condensation and mould growth. Education is needed ,not a freezing cold unit costing hundreds of £.

Honestly I really wouldn’t bother with these, they really are a pile of turd, my house is now constantly freezing cold after my landlord decided to instal one of these instead of replacing the rotten windows which are the real cause of my condensation problems! They aren’t particularly quiet and even tho I have the heated version it barely even warms the air and I’ve been told it’ll only heat up to 2 degrees! Yes it might help damp problems but so will opening all your windows 24/7 which is exactly what having one of these is like in cold months even at it’s lowest setting! Only watching this video to make the removal a little easier for myself

Typical response from a person who likely moaned about damp and doesn't care about the actual property. The air quality will have improved 10-fold, making your health better and through time will also protect the landlords property .. I bet when you turn it off that you still don't open a window...
@richardstickscooper5079
@richardstickscooper5079 5 ай бұрын
@@gman3474 nope windows have always and will to continue to be opened every day! That’s a typical landlord reply of oh it must be the tenants fault but in this case it’s down to the landlord taking the cheaper option that comes with a lot of draw backs. I was just pointing out that these systems probably do work but there are issues that come with them, if you want a constantly cold house you crack on though!
