It’s rare I run into a neck that a 2-way rod can’t push straight, I can usually push them a lot harder than I feel comfortable with on a single action rod, since all the rod action is self-contained. Love your channel Scott!

Just got mine, had to do a slight truss adjustment..now she plays like a dream ! It's a little " muddy " in the mid tones but it sounds like different strings will fix that..after 2 days of getting used to the x4 it now feels like a part of me playing it.. responsive ..think of the acoustic intro to "Tommy", you can drive this guitar like that and zero buzz, super sustain and easy Barre chording..changing out from elixir strings to Diadario s today but if the midtones clean up the only guitar I could compare w this that ive ever owned or played is a J-55 concert size arched back Guild worth around $4500 ..I record and this girl holds tuning w even the most aggressive strumming I throw at it. Sold on the carbon fiber !

It was a little bit affirming seeing you say the same things I heard earlier today. I have frustrated 2 luthiers so far. The truss rod gets to a point where it will move no further without damage and yet the neck is not straight. The part of the fingerboard that floats over the soundboard is raised up causing fretting out at the last fret. Today the luthier took the frets way down on that part and lowered the saddle and it plays again. He put 10's on there and I can live with that. It's weird but when I first got it, it played perfectly. I was a huge fan and was totally bummed when all of a sudden something tweaked. I wish Enya sold necks separately but then again, it might have the same problems.

i’ve had one for two years and I’ve done over 220 gigs with it. I absolutely love it but I’ve worn down fret 123 on the E and B string. . i’m from Newcastle Australia. I’ve got a luthier checking it out on how to refret it as it’s gonna be different to a wooden neck . Love the guitar plugged in through a decent PA system sounds great

I’d be interested to find out how that turns out! Martin uses a pho-ebony material (Richlite) those refrets always turn out great

As to the truss rod problem. You could remove the micarta fingerboard and fix the truss rod, but we both know that would be labor heavy and not particularly easy depending on what glue was used. I own the same instrument and those truss rods are "usually" very easy to adjust. Yours however has a real problem. The nice thing is that the whole neck comes off with just two bolts. The smart money would be to contact Enya at their office in Texas and see if they will send you a brand new neck as that one has a poorly installed truss rod (it can't hurt to ask). I've also experienced a few quality control issues with their carbon fiber guitars and they have been very responsive to me. BTW, on my Enya X4 pro (full size like the one in your video) I was easily able to adjust the truss rod to .004" (I like my fingerboard a little straighter when the guitar has good fret work) so yours definitely has a problem and it probably is more than just the truss rod. As far as QC for Enya, here is a video I did describing QC problems I had with their Enya X4 Pro "mini" guitar. It's a great instrument but it took getting a few till I was able to have a good one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amK8c5aVgNR0laM

By design, like a Mcphearson, the neck should “float” above, and not be in contact with the sound board, thereby allowing more movement. Snugging it down is wrong.

I own a Rainsong (H-DR1100N2). The action is so high it's virtually unplayable! I have tried to adjust the truss rod but it's maxed! I have been scouring the internet for some information on how others have dealt with these guitar types. Your video gives me hope that a local luthier may be able to do something with my guitar! The guitar sounds great but it chews up my fingers!

Wow, I learned a lot from this video! I just bought an X3, prefer that to X4 because of how they handled electronics in it with SP1 and an app vs. on guitar controls, and I was getting a consistent message from the reviews that string action on X3 is also too high. I'm guessing Enya decided to err on the high side since it is easier to go from high to low than the other way around. Will have to buy a string action ruler and possibly a new set of lighter strings per this recommendation.

Question: got a new Enya X Pro 4. The battery holder. The negative end spring fell out ( no negative battery contact). I can reach the 4 corner screws, but the wires seem short. Is it repairable ( refixing where the spring goes)? Thank you ChuckB
@peterpusat504110 ай бұрын
Fixing mine was easy. I pulled the bolts removed the neck shined up under the neck join on the forward side closest to the CF face about .020” thick at the face and put back together. Did not have to remove strings, nut or bridge. Put a slight forward bow and it plays like my SOLID body electric’s. Truss rod had no forward or reverse tension on it when I took it apart and worked perfectly. Went from over 1/8” high action at the 12th to 1/32 easy.

I want to install new tuners, and the holes for the set screw need to be filled. Any idea what to fill them with on this Resin headstock? The new tuner holes are so close, I need to fill these good and tight before installing the new ones.

You would think a modern carbon fiber guitar would be stronger and more adjustable than a conventional wood instrument. 12-54 is basically a normal gauge for acoustics. This might be a budget online special.
@henryhunter502610 ай бұрын
Interesting video. I would have expected a perfect neck on a guitar built from such modern materials, carbon fibre items should be capable of being produced to high measurement tolerances and be extremely resistant to bending forces. On the plus side after the set up the action and sound were perfect for me but I should point out that I almost exclusively play electric guitar and understand that this guitar may not appeal to traditional acoustic players.

I think a hair dryer will help the reverse bend you were clamping onto the neck, but if you break a customer’s guitar, it’s not my fault!

12s? hahah he should be using 9s or 10s. Also, I think I have only had 1 acoustic in my life that I haven't had to sand down the saddle to get the action perfect. I think makers do this on purpose because you can always take some away, but it's difficult to add height if needed. It's always a good idea to do this on most acoustic guitars IMO.

it's out of stock. Good. I can't afford it, anyhow. _ "Kiyosaki also notes that saying “I can’t afford it” creates negative feelings like sadness and helplessness. When you change that into a question, however, it creates possibility and that allows positive feelings like excitement. Everything that you want is now a call to action, not an unattainable goal. Essentially, it’s the basis for a total shift in thought. Stop thinking of your current financial state as permanent, and start thinking of ways you can alter your current methods and afford the things you’re after." _ It doesn't work: "possibilities"... right.

Just got my x3 mini pro and the E string has a 40% lower volume than all the rest when plugged in. I've reached out to Enya 5 times and gotten nothing from customer service. Based on that I don't recommend this guitar. I like it overall but with useless customer service it's not a winner.
