Enyobeni Tavern Tragedy | Victims' relatives disappointed in sentence of R5000 or 100 days in prison

The Enyobeni Tavern owners, Siyakhangela Ndevu and his wife Vuyokazi have been sentenced to a fine of five R5 000 each or 100 days in prison by the East London Regional Court for selling and supplying alcohol to underage patrons.
This follows the death of 21 people during a celebration at the tavern nearly two years ago.

I doubt they had any control at all. Those children didn't even ask for permission to go to that place. How do you allow that as a parent of a teenager, especially a 13yr old. My heart bled for that child who was failed by her parent. 😢

Many of the parents were at the groove themselves when this tragedy happened. Many of the parents do give money to their children to buy them alcohol. Many of the parents knew that their children do drink alcohol.
