Really objective and knowledgable podcast this. Very happy to have found it recently. I’m a chelsea fan and do think if (god I hope not) Maresca doesn’t fare well, the fans will sooner turn on the sporting directors after successive poor decisions, rather than the manager. Keep up the good work all!

Very happy to have stumbled upon this podcast, I'm a Chelsea fan and my algorithm is all Enzo Maresca right now and I'm excited for this appointment. I never saw Poch as the one to take us to challenging for the title, even in our best games we would concede a lot of chances and there never seemed to be a defined structure or repeating tactics that could be seen on the pitch apart from "give it to Cole and make runs in behind". With Enzo I already know that he can be successful, I hope that he gets afforded the time if the first season doesn't go really well though.

I dont think you took a look at the stats...Poch performed as a coach. He coaches his job isnt to score goals

This take is kind wild to me. It's one thing to think Poch was never going to be the one to take Chelsea back to the top--but believing Enzo Maresca will be is so sus after failing at Parma and then just meeting expectations with the most expensive team in the Championship.

the worlds gone mad 13 minutes into the video i hear "with maresca, he could go onto be one of the top managers in the game" this said about a man who is yet to make his managerial debut in any top flight league. bayern getting Kompany was mad. chelsea "sacking" poch and getting in this guy is mad. i know we are all just guessing here. but my guess is that next summer chelsea and bayern will both be looking for new managers.
