It wouldn’t surprise me at all if an EOD female holds the record. Certain aspects of physical fitness are non discriminate in EOD because devices and tools weight what they weigh leading to abnormally strong females. Also the small suits weigh less than a larger suit and the sizes are based more on height than anything. So a small EOD female is abnormally strong and wears a suit that is lighter weight. One additional concern is that for every five minutes in the suit you loose one IQ point and half a pound of water weight. (Don’t worry they come back with Pedia-Lite and cooling down.) Advice for anyone wearing a bomb suit for the first time, please don’t eat biscuits and gravy, cereal with whole milk, and yogurt for breakfast because your puke will have nowhere to go. Advice for everyone not EOD: when in the company of EOD do not bring up the hurt locker in any significant way, expect to quietly enjoy any film with bomb techs in it, tell an EOD tech something you “know” about a piece of munitions, leave beer unattended, or expect a technician will have pants on when you get back from the bathroom. By the way don’t touch anything

I actually got to wear one of these suits a few years back when I was in high school. My school brought in army recruiters every once in a while, and one day they brought in one of these suits for students to try out during lunch. I felt like I was in a suit of power armor from fallout or something. The thing was incredibly heavy, though, so I can’t imagine trekking around in it for and extended period of time, much less in the deserts of the Middle East

When I was in the Army, still in AIT, all of us being new soldiers were curious to ask our staff sergeant some questions about deployment as he had brought it up. Someone asked him what the craziest thing was he witnessed while he was over. He said then very first time he ever went, he had not even seen combat yet. They located a UXO (unexploded ordinance) and made a perimeter and brought in EOD. He spoke with some of those that showed up and they went to work. I do not know the details of the equipment that was worn, but it apparently was not enough because he said "I was just speaking to him, and now he is in pieces, everywhere. We literally just had a conversation"

@@jebbsredemption Stopping a bomb is different from stopping a bullet, The big shockwave and explosion is what these suits are made to stop, A bullet isnt a wave of force but instead a piece of led very very fast into one spot, The armor may be able to stop light pistol rounds and Shotguns but probably not any rifle rounds.

Josh Larson This is the same logic that goes into why bulletproof vests aren't made to stop knives despite being able to stop a bullet. Different objects require different materials and construction to effectively stop them, but one can't be used as a substitute for another. Ah yes, the EOD suit. The “juggernaut” suit. -Barely provides any ballistic protection, not supposed to be used as a frontline units -Used for explosive protection and it doesn’t even guarantee safety (Again, you’re literally working in *front* of the bomb. If it detonates, you’re gone).
