This has some good tips, thanks Bec! However, those watching it is important to note that the regulations regarding writing job applications for the DEC has now changed and you are only able to write half a page minimum size 11 font for each criteria.

Hi Amy. Yes those restrictions are now for merit selection too. I would only suggest one very short philosophy statement at the beginning of your appliation. Use that valuable space for the criteria 🍎

Bec really knows what she's talking about, everyone. Please take on board her advice on this. This is such a great topic for a video! You're right...You do feel like an idiot and like you're up yourself. Since my recent EOI I've thought of heaps more stuff I should have put in there. Oh well - I still got it. :) I got help from Bec. Thanks Bec! ;) 💕🌸

Thank you the great tips! Very clear explanations. Would you also look at non-teaching CV or EOI?

Hi there, Appreciate your willingness to share ideas and the energy it must take! Just a few questions: I'm from Victoria and have used the Department website many times, however, I've never come across EOI?! Is this something you'd send to a school voluntarily? The Dep of Ed and Training requires a Cover Letter, CV and Key Selection Criteria for both fixed term and ongoing. I've always been told: Name that stands out in bold and enlarged Contact details, including VIT No. Philosophy Employment History - School - Period of Employment - Position - Reported to - Key Responsibilities - Achievements (within this school) Professional Development Teaching Practicums? (I've been teaching since 2013, however a mix of casual and perm so not sure if I need this anymore) Referees x3 Can you plse help to clarify! Thank you kindly

Hi there! In NSW an EOI is an Expression of Interest. It's the application you write for a position that's temporary. They can be advertised internally or externally. They're not mandatory for temp positions but highly encouraged. VIC applications are definitely different to ours 😁 as for pracs the rule of thumb is usually anything thyag is more than 3 years old is usually irrelevant so you can probably lose that in the criteria points. Thanks so much for you lovely feedback. I hope you find the videos useful ❤️

@@talkinchalk Thank you. Your advice re strategic plan was very helpful. How many pages for CV do you think? Is the layout I sent you acceptable? Cheers
@talkinchalk6 жыл бұрын
For us we usually recommend one page per criteria. Layouts can vary depending on personal style really. If you google there are some really unique designs out there

Hi Bec! I’ve recently came across your videos, I’m really enjoying your tips and advice. I’m just about to finish my internship and I’m lost with what to write on my CV to hand around to schools for casual work. I’m unsure of the layout, and what subheadings I should use? Look forward to hearing back! Thanks Carly :)

Hi Carly! I'm glad to have you join me on Talkin' Chalk ❤️ for a casual resume it only needs to be very basic. For me, I just need your contact details, WWCC number, approval number, references, any employment history relevent to teaching, your mandatory training certificates (anaphylaxis etc) and any other qualifications you have. Have you seen my video on tips for casuals?
