I heard a Korean tourist did something idiotic and got hurt so they closed down train street...thus ruining the experience for everyone else. Ugh. That bridge you guys tried to cross was crazy! I wonder if it was just regular rush hour or something else. Wow. Really love your happy vibe.
We loved our time Hanoi so much we went back again after going up to Ha Giang! And thank you so much that's so kind

How did you guys know which way the buses went, and can you just pay cash when entering a bus? Also, did you leave most of your stuff at your hotel? I’m planning on going there somewhere next year :) Edit, also one more thing, how did you make sure your phone or wallet etc isn’t stolen? I was thinking of buying a waist bag but you guys seem to do fine without? Cheers and enjoy!
@EoinandAisling2 жыл бұрын
We always check the buses on the public transport section on Google maps, it keeps us right with the direction the bus is going so we can judge which side of the road to stand on. We have a small bag that we sometimes carry for our phone, money etc but alot of the time we don't use it. We felt very safe in Vietnam, always be aware keep your valuables on you but you should be fine. If you are buying a bag to keep things in get one that crosses across your body so you can always keep a close eye on it and your belongings

Vietnam is a safe country compared to most. Violent crimes are super rare there, especially towards tourists. Worst that may happen is you'll get your phone or wallet stolen in the bigger cities, so don't take your phone out to record while on a motorbike without holding on tight as it can get snatched. Women can travel solo without worries. Use Google translate if you need help from locals, especially out in rural areas. Avoid Bui Vien at night while in HCMC/Saigon unless that's the type of "fun" you're looking for as it's known for drugs and prostitutes.
