actually you can talk about it as many as you want. Yes the war is painful for us, but at the end of the day, we have achieved independence and freedom, the country is currently developing very well. History is what shapes the future, If the war hadn't happened, we wouldn't have been cohesive and known as a heroic country that defeated many of the world's superpowers. Well it is obvious from the video that yours is a wealthy country, based on the physical tangible things they have. Wealth isn't measured in pieces of paper, it's measured in artifacts of actual use that serve quality of life. The real mystery is why the going prices are so low. So why does it end up with an exchange rate that gives the US dollar a huge buying power? Rather than saying it is "cheap", perhaps it is more accurate to say your people are simply the least greedy. That sound better?
@travelexploreasia9576 Жыл бұрын
@@phineasp.quimby3162 I'm a foreigner who has been living here in Việt Nam for 5yrs now as well as married to a local Vietnamese woman and in reality Việt Nam is only cheap for most of the local people who barely make enough money to survive, especially if they have a family when the average income is 7 to 10 Million VND equaling 3 to 5 hundred USD because if you're a foreigner or a wealthy Vietnamese with a good income stream then it's affordable to expensive, due to wanting a higher standards of living and quality life, cause well made luxury items cost more in Việt Nam especially if you're buying a car, cellphone, computers, camera etc. Food on the other hand is cheap to affordable again it depends on where you eat and if you want to eat clean quality food verses local local street food or at a not so popular infested restaurant and end up sick or worse, so when it come to Việt Nam and cost of living & food it's knowing where to go and what you want when it comes to spending your money on quality or cheap crappy items & unclean food not prepared well that won't make you sick... So Vietnam being the cheapest country in the world is a understatement.

In my experience, with $1000, you can get a local hooker, taxi fare for trips to other provinces like Ben Tre, Long An, Soc Trang, legit restaurant food (not street food cuz u might got diarrhea), hotel expense. Hookers can be expensive but if you get guided by experienced tour guy, you can try renting out college girls cuz schools there are ripoff so college students gotta earn money somehow to pay for education. So far, my experience is that $1000 might sound like a local CEO's monthly salary, it is nothing if you travel and live beyond ur normal mean in developed countries. But if you bargain, you might get away with cheap deals. Therefore, you need good tour guys to lead you.

Hey Brett I love your channel and film styles, but since I'm a foreigner who actually lives in Việt Nam, I'll have say that Việt Nam isn't as cheap as you think bro or is the cheapest country in the world either, I've been living in Việt Nam for 5 years now and my cost and day to day experiences and expenses are way above $1000.00 dollars USD,. I'll have to agree with a few other people who commented, about the cost and lifestyle here in Việt Nam, being affordable to expensive depending on where you live and lifestyle or have a woman in your life, if you're just a tourist / backpacker hanging out for a few days without actually partaking in the day to day life style then yes it's cheap to you or other foreigners visiting compared to us expats who actually live here, my cost per month is around $2000.00 USD because I've got rent, bills, expenses and a wife, an that's just on a good month, some months my cost can be as high as $3000.00 USD due to life unexpected nuances so please I don't mean to rain on your parade but Vietnam isn't cheap it's actually affordable to expensive. The local Vietnamese people are the only ones who live very cost effective and efficiently cheaper, when it comes to there day to day needs compared to foreigners who live here, because foreigners have a higher standard and more needs than most local Vietnamese. Anyway I don't want foreigners who've never been to Việt Nam think it's the cheapest country in the world to live...

@@ericcontreras901 It's called I have a family aka a wife, kid, rent, monthly expenses, hidden expenses etc, plus don't believe the hype & sensationalized KZbin videos that makes it seem like Southeast Asia is so cheap, the only people the think that Southeast Asia is cheap are the, begpackers, potheads, backpackers, 90 day wannabe entrepreneurs, scammers weirdos and tourists, but for us foreigners with a reality base perspective and logical understanding of what is, who actually come to Asia / Southeast Asia and meet someone an start building a foundation, it's not cheap but cheaper than living in the US... So remember as a tourist it's always going to be cheap because they don't live here, plus the only time foreginers bargains is if you're shopping at the local markets and believe when I tell you, if you're foreigner still shopping at the markets if you live here then you've no clue, because most foreigners who live in Southeast Asia don't really shop at the local markets or alway buy food from the local street vendors unless you really know it's clean or you're looking just looking to get sick or worse, hell not even the locals with money buy from the street markets or street vendors, so again don't believe everything you hear or see on those hype up sensationalized tourist KZbin videos.
