One of EON's best episodes ever! Nola and Margo were two of the most fascinating characters the show ever had.

Prior to her murder, Margo was a suspect in Wade Meacham’s murder since she bankrolled Wade’s porno enterprise and he was blackmailing her.

In 1980, this episode was preempted and was never televised in my area because of a presidential news conference that aired earlier in the day. (An episode of Family Feud aired in EON's time slot that Friday.) How frustrating to tune in to EON the following Monday and realize I'd missed everything. It was amazing to finally see this episode for the first time when it was posted online in 2007.

Well-deserved daytime Emmy for Kim Hunter-scary, crazy, and dignified at the same time. Off to the red carpet and limo, arm in arm with her husband. A masterful performance.

It's so sad that Proctor and Gamble did the damage of moving EON to an earlier time slot in 1972. It just never recovered from that move. The decline had nothing to do with Henry Slesar's excellent writing. This video is a great example of this. However, Slesar's made some boo boos too. Killing off Adam Drake was a big mistake. Recasting Nicole and de-aging her was another. The show was slowly pounding the nails into its coffin but this story about Nola was a good one! Just as good as the "Julie Jamison", "Stephanie Martin", Jonah Lockwood, "The Haunting of the Marceau Home", "Elly Jo Jamison", "Martha Marceau trial", "Nicole found after being presumed dead", "The Serena Faraday Story", "Beau Richardson and Nancy Karr", "Geraldine in a coma", "Draper and April", etc.

I'm watching this episode of the Edge Of Night because my grandmother watched it and other soap operas in the 1960s , the 1970s and the 1980s. We lived in Southern California and according to Google Newspaper Archives ( the Oxnard Courier , the EON was on KNXT Channel 2 Los Angeles at 1:30pm.

@eonschuylerwhitney It's good that you had two chances to see the show. Only one of the two ABC channels aired EON once a day in my area, so if I missed an episode, I couldn't see it again. Oddly enough, the 3/14/80 episode was the only one that wasn't shown, which was obviously annoying. But airing Family Feud instead of EON that day was a classic example of the disrespect that TV networks have commonly displayed for soaps and their viewers over the years.

I grew up in NYC and we only had one chance to see an EON episode, 4pm on WABC TV channel 7. And yes, back then this particular episode was pre-empted for some reason. I do clearly remember that. I guess it was Election related. I too, saw it for the first time recently when EON was re-run on AOL.

@netguy02 Hey netguy, how frustrating. I remember being 14 years old, and how me and all my friends made sure to tune in at 4 p.m. to see. In Montreal I guess we were lucky, because if we missed it at 4 p.m. we could see it the next day on CBC, or tape it at 2:00 p.m.. My Dad would often see The EON at 2:00 p.m. as he was a musician and worked nights.

Diana R Ross I felt like EON was trying to push hard with Sky & Raven as a super couple to try and compete with the other ABC soaps pushing out super couples which was extremely popular at that time. As for the Penthouse, it went from being Margo and Elliot’s to Draper and April’s and lastly Miles and Nicole took over the penthouse. Great penthouse but I find it odd that April wanted to live where her mother was killed at.
