I’ve noticed a very steady progression of your general skill over the years. Your choice of colors and tones combined with great contrast and nailing your light sources really sets your minis apart from average to good painters. I also thing your willingness to paint so many different types of models just adds more versatility to your technical abilities!

Beastmen IS a classic 40k race. They used to be regular abhumans, like Squats or Felinids, and very skilled and effective soldiers. But then the Inquisition and Mr. 40K decided to demoted them even further to mutants and more or less declaring open season on them. So to survive the majority of beastmen went into hiding and turned to chaos, sadly, because it was either getting constantly killed by dumb humans or becoming a bit tainted by chaos, mostly Tzeentch. When I first heard of this box I really really hoped GW would make a group of still loyal beastmen who went into hiding and became frightened isolationists who refused the temptation of chaos and not just a reskin the fantasy beastmen.

Tzeench of all?
@sweatilaa5325 Жыл бұрын
@@viorp5267 yeah, that's why they have extra arms.Tzaangors are just regular beastmen that became a bit extra Tzeentch-ified. Though there, as always, are warbands of Khorne, Nurgle, Slanesh, and Undivided out and about. My memory is a bit foggy when it comes to 40k beastmen, GW haven't really touched their lore in a long while.
@leefisher6766 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking they were a classic 40k race, fought in the imperial guard with ogryns prior to being a classic chaos force.
@scelonferdi11 ай бұрын
Aren't they still considered Abhumans, but particularly repressed ones, closer to humans (or at least somewhat unstable)? Anyway, they have it particularly rough in the Imperium and are thus very likely to turn to chaos, regardless of classification.

I truly hate the ads and sponsorship, but you do a great job on blending them in to your video and theme is usually workable to what you are discussing in your video. Also, the layer, drybrush, shade, and highlight is a good technique. Thank you for sharing.

Answer to your question just look at the teeth on the model. If it goat teeth designed for eating hi fibre then it will be pellets but if they carnivorous or omnivorous then regular poops. Hope that helped

@EonsOfBattle Thank you very much, that was a treat! I was on the fence about this team but after your video, i had to buy, build and now paint them. I absolutely fell in love with the painting scheme. I have 3 question. First - would it be possible to use Lahmian medium instead of Jo Sonja Magic Mix? Second- After the skin is washed and finished, you start highlighting. But what color is put on the cloth/leather/horns/gong to give it this grey-brownish look? At 3:28 Third- the highlight itself was made with the skinmix. Is it just the basecolor and white or the Basecolor-medium-mix and white? Sorry if the questions a a bit dull, I never painted befor. Thank you very much for this tutorial, it was a sheer pleasure.

Nice paint job. You are getting better and better all the time. I loved the tips you gave on using the dirty down. You could've put a couple of piles of pellet like poop on the bases, although I don't know how readable that would be.

Hi Jay, i've been pretty inspired by this paint job and am putting a bit of a spin on it. I just wanted to understand if there was a reason for the flesh wash before the dry brush step, instead of after? or was it a decision made during the painting?

You can get some gnarly texture rust effect with the Dirty Down by blasting the surface with a heat gun or hair dryer first, then quickly slapping the paint on (presuming it hasn't been mentioned yet).

What happens if you paint a base color for the skin with bright arteries, then glaze in a coat of translucent paint (varnish?) and then do the washes on the skin. So there is a micrometer of distance between the layers
