seems to apply to private individuals buying for personal use (i.e. no VAT registration ) (not profit or selling on) too not only businesses. FedEx are refusing to take a private parcel from Indonesia without one.

I work for a dental company in the US that has vendors in the EU. Germany and many EU countries are now requiring an EORI number for all permanent import goods and because we don't have a number yet, we use their EORI number for a fee. Do we need to apply for a number?

Because the UK has left the European Union so rex code can't not use now at Vietnam. The Vietnamese customs also required about eori code.

No, also, things have slightly changed, my EORI number became my VAT number with triple zero at the end, best to check with the official website and get the full details, but there is no cost.

For domestic, you don't need an EORI number. If it is for a business, then you need to apply for an XI number. It used to start with GB but since Brexit, Ireland will need to use the XI number BUT... At the moment you are able to ship to northern Ireland without this number as the rules have been "temporarily" Relaxed. Hope this helps.
