Thanks for the review, I have the Vortex Razor 1-10x on an ADM 308, and I honestly think it belongs there, while the EOtech is a decent offering, after about 2 years with the 1-10x I just love what that thing can do and a daylight bright optic is a must for me in the woods of the upper midwest as I've hunted with it in the last 2 years, plus the reticle from Vortex is nice with that semi transparent dot (which wasn't on the Eotech 1-10 with the MOA reticle I played with at my LGS), now you can tell me its not $1200 dollars nicer and I would agree, but I got my Razor 1-10x for about $1680 with a Veterans/ LEO discount, and for that I would argue puts it over the top. Now if I was going to mount an LPVO on a 5.56 AR, I would look to a 1-6x or possibly 1-8x scope that was much more versatile in all situations

Like your reviews. Got the eotech vudu 1-10x SR5. I've run it in timed drills /courses of fire out to distance-- 600yds The eyebox at 10x is fantastic! I run a vltor emod stock and can get behind glass in prone very comfortably as well as on barricades, etc. More forgiving than razor 1-10x but proper cheekweld and rifle setup makes the Razor GTG in terms of eyebox. The 28mm objective, like on the Trijicon credo 1-8FFP, gathers more light and makes it feel like I'm looking through a higher magnification scope. Just 1st hand feedback from an actual owner. I run arisaka 45 offset for a red dot that's zeroed at 50/200 with 75gr bthp. It's a phenomenal lpvo and arguably the best on the market!

I'm quite fond of my Vudu 1-10 as well, but with the LE-5 reticle. It is amazing for the price and the parallax is set at 200 yards versus 100 with the Razor and most other LPVOs allowing a little more forgiveness at longer distances.

I just don't see the purpose in going to a 1-10X over my 2.5-10X with an off-set RDS. In my experience it's a LOT faster to transition to the red dot then it is to dial back even a 1-8x LPVO to 1x for up close stuff. I hunt (deer) in the N.Idaho mountains with a 6.5 Grendel AR and I run the same PA 2.5-10x/off-set RDS set-up on that rifle as my main long-gun and I've taken 2 deer that surprised me walking out at ~20 and ~35yds respectively with the off-set red dot. It took more tim eto decide if they were shooters then it did to get on target and let the round go. Great content mate, love this channel and all the "gear autism" you give us. I don't know why everyone has gotten so sucked into the topic of scope optics recently. I've picked up a few things here and there, and I'm amused that things keep coming in waves. Via the grapevine, someone pointed out that the LPVO was a 3-gun thing, because you could only have one optic... At the same time, LPVO's really tend to struggle on the low end, and the high end of their magnification range, and the take-away from the SPR/SAPR videos I've seen from both you and hop, as well as Nutn tend to focus on lower power optical scopes (2-10, 3-9x) While Hop's observation that you all got smoked by a dude with a 4-16x. For those of us in the western deserts, the higher-medium 4-14,16 etc are really amazing, and I'm still confused why people try to hammer away with LPVOs and other devices that just aren't that tuned for the environment. I think what I just keep coming back to, is I just don't need a 1x power setting, I'm not sure I need a 2x power setting. I run a 3x prism on one gun and I kinda wish that was more. There's a lot of development and R&D being sunk into the 1-24x, but the obvious trade-offs in terms of exit pupil, and the biggest one for me: Objective lens size just make me confused why people keep torturing their wallets with LPVOs, without a real METC (yea, i'm co-opting the acronym for myself). We're all capitalists here, and if it tickles your fancy to buy one, do it. I'm just always searching for the underlying logic beneath that purchasing choice.

Everyone compares the Razor gen 3 1-10, and the Vudu. Meanwhile March has a 1-10, with parallax adjustment, that is under 18 oz, 8 inches in length, with a dual focal plane reticle (red dot on sfp and tree on ffp), decent eye relief, exit pupil on par with the Razor and Vudu, and price point comparable to the Razor. Not sure how the depth of field compares, but hey you have an adjustible parallax. It's also from a company that is held in the same regard as SB, Zies, Khales, and Tangent Theta. And if you're one of those weirdos that doesn't care about FOV, and intermediate magnification, or that always dials, they have a SFP (with adjustable parallax) at almost the same price as a Vudu.

I don't think there's such a thing as too much magnification on an lpvo. It's a first focal plane, if you want a wider field of view or a more forgiving I box, you can just zoom back to less magnification. The bullet drop and range estimating will still be accurate because it's FFP. This scope is stupid expensive though, which is why I got the Primary Arms 1 to 10 FFP.

If it’s a bright day the illumination on 1X is useless but the etched reticle is as clear as an illuminated EoTech so the Vudu 1-10 on 1X is just as fast as an EoTech on 1X. If the lighting situation is dimmer then the illumination makes the extremely visible etched reticle illuminated. If you are taking shots beyond CQB then you have time to aim small and good luck finding better glass at distance on a 1-10 or 1-8 without spending $2,800 and beyond. I spent $1,300 on my 1-10 VUDU and others I know have spent $1,200 adjacent. There is NO competition in the sub $2,000 range. The NX8 is not anywhere near as good as the VUDU 1-10. It just has a brighter reticle. The Razor 1-10 is a thousand dollars better than a VUDU 1-10 so if you have the coin then get that. out

@@xxxlonewolf49 sure, depends on the mission, but as I showed in the 10x video a 10x lpvo is seriously compromised vs a lower mag one, and you're only sitting at like 4-2x more than the average lpvo. Sometime it makes sense to bring the tool for the job.

The March 1-10 shorty remains undefeated with it's weight, size and parallax adjustment. It beats my razor 1-10. The razor only has maybe around 10% brighter illumination. Dual focal plane is neat too.

the price as well. that's the big reason I haven't touched one yet

@@BrassFacts I mean, Deon Optics does pushes what is possible with current technology , and I think anyone that is a customer of their optics understands they are paying for a early adopter tax. But Swarovski, Zeiss, Leopold Mark 8 and the Vortex Razor and Night Force ATCAR lines seems to follow what Deon makes at the premium to super premium level . Someone has to do it I guess, less you want stagnation, it ultimately makes it way to mid range and low range optics in time (say 10 to 15 years IMO).Vortex has leaked pictures of what looks like a shorty LPVO, something that Deon's March F 1-10 shorty had a year ago, it's no coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a vortex 1-8 razor shorty soon then a 1-10 in a couple of years. By then we'll see a MPVO that is 1-12 with dual reticles and parallax adjustment from DEON that doesn't suck.

So what do you think is the best 1x 1X10 LPVO? I hear alot of complaints (not necessarily talking about u) but they still shoot LPVOs. So what is it that you think is the best there is money not a barrier? I have always ignored most of the 1x on LPVOs because as long as the retical is visible it's not a big deal to me with fisheye lensing. As long as it has a good 10x (and that is tough to get to) and great glass I never thought of it as a problem just what you get on a LPVO. Thanks for the great videos man.
@BrassFacts2 жыл бұрын
worth noting, I'd still take this over a rds +mag. Or maybe even a ACOG+RMR but in the realm of LPVOs most 1-6x SFP really run circles around this
@hebrewhooligan54622 жыл бұрын
@Brass Facts good point. I have been thinking about a good 1x6. I use to feel that a basic 1x10 is better than a great 1x6 for PID, but I'm leaning away from that these days. My main thing is that I want to have everything in one package. IDK why I'm so set on having everything in one package but I am.

Is it fair to say that getting this new at the price of $1050 US is a good deal? Or (plot twist) get the Steiner T6Xi for under $1K US? I may have pull on Leupold too, but these are my top contenders

Looking to build a nice general build on a 18” scout squad M1A, thinking between this scope or getting something like a 3-12. My scope Mount on the gun allows me to keep the use of my irons with a scope on. Anyone have thoughts?
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz2 жыл бұрын
What bothers me is the ability, seemingly, for this scope to mirror decent 2-10x/2.5-10x offerings with 36 and 44mm objective lenses. It has basically the same FOV with better eye relief, at the same weight, so where's the trade off at? Is it just exit pupil? Is that really the only thing that a larger objective lens gives me?
@BrassFacts2 жыл бұрын
the lack of a 1x is the trade off

imma keep it a buck with you comments section. this was my first lpvo. got one early this year and thought it would be perfect on my SPR. i have since traded it for my buddies 2.5-10 vudu and i will not go back. they killed the 2.5-10 to chase the lpvo craze and lost their way.
