Can't believe you talked through pretty much the entire song.

Well, he lead with that he is a trumpet player, and I have a theory about musicians. So trumpet players a lot of times take the lead melody and let their notes ring out above what they consider to be the more background music in a piece. That's the role they're used to playing in an arrangement. So yeah, he talks over everything because he doesn't think or doesn't realize that listening and really paying attention to what he's reacting to is more important than talking over it about what his opinion is (of the ten seconds he did listen to). Which is what, is it ironic? That the song talks about the inability to really listen and take in and understand what other people are saying? (I was a trumpet player myself for a few years when I was a teenager, not half bad until I got braces. See? Even I'm still tooting my own horn.) *I'll concede that his ears are more trained to listen to the instrumentation and not to the nuances of David's voice and all the little things he does with it that contribute to the performance. The vocalists who react all pick up on the little things in his voice and sometimes don't mention the instruments at all. But come on, David's voice is clearly the star here, that's what makes the cover what it is.

His facial expressions are not for dramatic effect, it is LITERALLY the correct way to do a "vocal fry" (grit in voice) by placing it more in the front by scrunching up the face. Because he does this, he has been able to have a VERY long career.

Might be without even knowing it, but... an effective way to avoid copyright strikes. The KZbin bots listens for recognizable music pieces. Even if you pause things, it will just look for it on the up pickup. Talking over it though, confuse the crap out of the bots. Not sure if that is the reasoning behind his talking over, but effective never the less. I will agree with you though. He did talk right over the very thing he in the start was talking about expecting to hear from Disturbed.

Ah, funny about the faces. Watch how vocal coaches explain it. Especially when he does the vocal fry, the physicality of pushing his face forward is how he is keeping his vocals cords from getting damaged. The fact that the facial expressions fit the song so perfectly is just a bonus. The spat of musicians reactions I am now seeing is interesting. You all are looking around him to see the orchestra and naming the instruments and when they would come in. I suppose when music is your career, it’s difficult to disconnect from the mechanics of music making to actually just feel the music. Oddly, listening without hearing, the theme of the song! You kind of personified it right there.

Rolando, I think you had a really good reaction video happening, excepting only a one-minute span from 4:30 to 5:30. This was the song's climax, and you kinda missed it because -- I believe -- you had gotten so excited about what you'd just heard, and your excitement caused you to talk over this part. I don't blame you for being excited. It's a great, great song. Please do, however, consider adding additional footage where you replay at least the aformentioned minute-- in silence, of course. And please excuse any rude comments here. I think a lot of us just felt disappointed we didn't get to see you react to our favorite part...we wanted to share in that with you!

You mentioned the instruments, his voice, the lighting but you did't comment on the lyrics ?? As the original was focused, that in 1964 the folk music of the 50' and early 60's and their powerful messages were being drowned out by the British Rock Invasion where the beat and rock sounds were the most important. Not just the distraction of TV and the limiting of conversation. This newer version makes me think that we are bowing down to our new distraction, the "smart phone" and even less conversation. S&G folk version was a poetic warning, and David's version is a rage that no one seems to have paid any attention to the earlier version. Slainte

This is so far removed from their typical music that anyone (EVERYONE?) is blown away!! Not until this was released (12/2015) did anyone feel these lyrics so intensely!! This is way more dominant and dynamic than the 1965 original; not necessarily better!! This song can and SHOULD be listened to by anyone who likes music; all genre listeners should experience this song!! IMO, check out Heart paying tribute to Led Zeppelin (2012) in front of the boyz!! How can you react without listening? You talk through the entire performance. So how can anybody listening hear the UNBELIEVABLE performance that was being sung. Who cares that you’ve seen them in concert. Many people haven’t. I have, and it was really madding. If you want people to listen to your channel, stop talking, and let the listeners make their own assumptions.
