This conversation was so liberating. The super power of being subtle! You are such a grounded lady. Key takeaway for me is being comfortable with not having to be the loudest voice in meetings to prove I can do it all. Having recently resigned from an organization with toxic masculinity, I thought with my new job I must rise to the level of a man. It’s comforting to know that I don’t need to do that. My work ethic, working to get the results I need. Yoh!!! Thank you thank you Chipo!!!

Wow. I found myself once getting out of a responsibility which was required of me but because i believed it was a waste of time, i came up with an excuse, i felt bad about it. I heard Ms. Chipo saying get up and show up , be a person of integrity through and through consistently 😢. I needed this as a junior person in corporate , thanks for availing it .

Would love to hear more from here. Could you please have a Q & A next time ❤ The nugget I found to be useful is defining who you are within the corporate space. As I'm trying to navigate and be the women I want to be in my life, listening to women of stature like Chipo is really eye opening and brings me closer to the women I want to become

This was an awakening conversation. I can now see some of the costly mistake I made particularly when I had someone who believed in me. Knowing that they put their neck on the line to put your name forward is somethibg that struck a cord. It isnt so much that they are doing you a favour or obligated to do so but that they put their neck on the line to make sure that your name is known. That piece of advice really was an a point of awakening. It really is important in how you show up and who you have in your corner. Thanks ladies!

Beautiful interview, I must commend Nomndeni on her interview skills, so often I thought Chipo was done speaking but it was a pause and the effect landed so well on how Nomndeni would carry the next point without interrupting. The one point that resonates with me is people not knowing how I do what I do , this describes me so well. Lol can we have more episodes with Chipo where she unpacks how she leads.

I'm still finding the right words to describe this lady. In short, she's so elegant, simple and profound. There's a lot of maturity and wisdom in what she says. I really like how she did not answer questions just for the sake of answering, but gave herself time to unpack complex corporate conversations. I could go on and on. Would really love to see you interview her again at a later stage.

Chipo is really dropping gems. You don't know how much I needed to watch this , I thank God for this platform. Bringing women of value, totally relatable content especially for the black women who are just fending their way up , no support, no one, to listen, no one to empower you, just making many mistakes and learning from them, being told that we're not good enough or this space is not for us let's go back to our little shells but you know what , we will soldier on until we make it

I was even saying to myself that this is definitively something I’m going to keep coming back to because it’s packed with so much practical value that one can put into actions. I particularly related so much to what Chipo said about stopping to let things happen to her and being more intentional which is something I did myself earlier this year and this was a beautiful example of what can happen when you make such a decision and become consistent in showing up for it. Thank you so much 🙌🏽
