Thank You ! Thank You ! for your closing statement noting the similarity to Michelangelo's David. From the first time I saw the St.George I thought ' That's David '. I've studied the art of the Renaissance and you are the FIRST I've seen to validate my hunch.

It woud also be very intetesting an episode analyzing the 1000 year evolution of Roman sculpture from Classicism to Byzantine and Romanic Art.

From: Randy Klinger: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS! I tried to listen to a talk by the Director of Palazzo Strozzi on Donatello, and he spoke of their exhibition of Koons! I wrote him,"Dear Arturo, I looked forward to hearing your talk in London Art Week. I turned it off immediately when you spoke of Jeff Koons. You are responsible for elevating merda as arte. La bellezza non è travato in 'l'arte' di Koons. Per favore, pensa, pensa ad un mondo pieno di bellezza, e vuoto di spazzatura - schifezza. Randy Klinger: Pittore"

Great stuff as usual. I think Donatello's work is sometimes very beautiful and sometimes just awful
