The road you guys went is very infamous for such incidents and unfortunate accidents, the road is pretty steep, the reason it's written drive in first gear only while going downhill.. you've probably driven in gears above 2 or may be in neutral and applied too much of braking. If you drive a car like this in downhill you'd have a major brake fail and an accident would be unavoidable. Ride safe and be careful. Have a wonderful trip ahead.

This issue with rear brake is common in these roads while going downhill....these roads you have been riding for the past few days are our Sunday ride roads...we love them from our core of heart....good to see you too loving them...but talk to local people who ride to get acquainted with Sikkim roads and cab drivers...riders from others states sometimes face issues while riding to North Sikkim areas...
