Wow the signal to noise ratio is much better with less light polluted sky

Thank you for your comments. However, I can't restrictedly discuss S/N ratio exclusively because I haven't mentioned temperature effects. The location at Bortle 4 has low temperature (10 °C vs 25 °C) and high altitude (3100 m vs 40 m).

I enjoy seeing these types of comparisons. Very nice and educational! We should join-up for some dark sky trips together! Astrophotography Japan (Paul)

Thank you very much for your reply! So far, I always do astrophotography alone, so I think it is a good opportunity for me to expand my knowledge with more experienced person. Let's plan the trip!!!

How many images did you stack and what was the exposure for each image?

I got about the same images as you, just used dslr and tripod no tracking, have you tried using tracker?

For both data, I use 1.0 second of each sub-exposure without a tracker. So, for a 12 mins (bortle 4) data, I took about 720 sub-frames, while the 67 mins (Bortle 8-9) data, I took about 4000 sub-frames.

@@Akash9z I bought a tracker last month. Now I am really happy with the result since they are just much greater.
