Wanting BTS to work in English is like handing a box of crayons to Michaelangelo and expecting a masterpiece. Their most meaningful work exists because they sculpt with the tools they know best. Their English pop songs make them accessible to Westerners. But their Korean lyrics save lives.

Army is so amazing and there is nothing like a BTS concert experience. Army are so generous. They make hundreds of special little gifts to give out and trade for free to other Army at the concerts. Freebies are one of the coolest things to experience. Many people go to BTS concerts alone but they immediately make friends and don’t leave alone because Army is so warm and welcoming. It’s a beautiful fandom and I’m so proud to be Army.

Agreed, I always made at least one friend when I went alone to concerts, adding them on Twitter and stuff, and I'm always kind to ARMYs in return. At Permission to Dance in LA, the person sitting next to me, who I didn't know, we ended up talking a little before the concert and fangirled together during the concert, but at one point she asked if she could use my portable charger cause her phone was dying and I happily let her and she was extremely grateful. Something about loving BTS makes camaraderie natural.

I think when you start watching videos of bts in which they are themselves you will fall incredibly in love with them. The bond that these seven boys have is incredible, like I myself am sometimes jealous of them and envie their relationship . How can a group of people love each other so much and so irrevocably, that's what I often think because mannn, the love and respect that they have for each other is so amazing that you want to cherish them and give them the world.

It’s pretty hard not to be cynical about artists for precisely the reason you have mentioned. When artists are put on a pedestal the expectation is that of perfection. BTS is a little different because they don’t put themselves up there above their fans. There is so much footage of them from when they were teenagers until now that its impossible to hide who they are. They also don’t hide their insecurities from their fans and it’s somehow reassuring to find that these amazing artists who make great music are just regular people who can be silly and chaotic, but are also also kind and caring, and have anxieties that regular people have. And their story is that of a true underdog which is often not appreciated now, given their success. They know what its like to struggle and work hard. Also their message never feels like it is preached from a pulpit or a soapbox. That’s what special about this group (though other groups have a similarly positive message) and it is so refreshing! Enjoy your journey! Can I suggest the Rise of Bangtan series which is a fan made incredibly well edited documentary on KZbin. It is seriously the best one out there and continues to track their story. You will also understand why ARMY are so loyal and protective of the boys if you learn about their early years.

A couple more recent things ARMY have done: As a thank you to NPR for having BTS on Tiny Desk, a bunch of ARMY donated to their local Public Radio Stations. When ARMY found out that there was supposed to be a Meg Thee Stallion remix of Butter, but her record label was trying to prevent it from being released the WEEK before it was supposed to drop... @_@ She took them to court. I don't recall the exact legal details, but there was something with Meg having to put $100K in an escrow type holding account in case the remix flopped.

"I am waiting for the other shoe to drop..." I completely understand that, I was the same in the beginning honestly. Our experience with stars tells us that you will be disappointed at some point or another and I was also really careful with giving such a big part of my heart to them, but I've been an Army for almost 3 years now and it hasn't happened. And with everything I've learned about them over the years, I know that they are genuinely good people. That is not to say that they're flawless, because they're not, they've made mistakes in the past, but what's important here is how they handled those. They recognized what they did wrong, they sincerely apologized AND they're making sure that it doesn't happen again and, to me at least, that's a clear sign of how genuine their intentions are. At this point, I 100% trust BTS with my life and I'm not even joking ahaha Oh! And if you guys are interested, I'm actually a volunteer tutor for Army Academy! There are lots of amazing people working under and running that account :) They sometimes even offer free language courses (the Korean one is especially popular ;) ) and witnessing how hard everyone is working for this is just amazing

The media likes to paint ARMY in an incredibly superficial way, and they always fail to mention all the many reasons that we support this group. BTS and ARMY have a symbiotic relationship and we are constantly taking actions to uplift eachother. There is so much more to this than anyone can understand until they are in it. These fan made videos show the movement up close and personal.

I find the Grammys a joke. They are adamant about allegedly awarding quality over commertial success which I could whole heartedly agree with if it was true. For example this year Olivia Rodrigo got multiple awards. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on her, every artist deserves to be recognised and all of them work hard for it and I actually like her music. But please somebody explain to me what did she do more or did better than BTS that actually landed her with not one, not two, but three trophies? Or last year when the Best Duo/Group Performance went to Rain On Me instead of Dynamite. BTS performed Dynamite like a hundred times (I don't know the exact number but a lot), always live, always perfection, every time a different concept, it was never boring or recycled. And Rain On Me had like one performance which was pre-taped... Seriously? Grammys are rewarding quality? I need to laugh...
@tildatiger2 жыл бұрын
I agree fully with what you're saying and feeling! One thing that I think most of us didn't know (or still don't know) that made last year so incomprehensible: "Performance" in the name of that category refers to "performance on the record", not live performances or visual performances. So it was the single version (music/singing only, in the recording booth) of "Dynamite" against the single version of "Rain on me". I have NO idea how that can be judged ANYWAY. But I hope it's some comfort anyway that all the amazing "Dynamite" performances weren't disregarded, since they just weren't what they were nominated for!

It's a collection of his thoughts and gratitude as he strove to love himself and others. one thing about bts is, not one person who has ever interacted with them has one bad word to say about them. from other celebrities, bigger or smaller, all the way down to workers and cleaners in buildings they work in or do photoshoots in or whatever, so from people from every part of the social chain, all of them have only praised bts for being the kindest people. and trust me, a lot of people pray on bts' downfall. if they were rude and bad people in reality, it would have come out ages ago, someone would have jumped on the opportunity to "expose" them. but none of that. they chat with everyone, pay attention to them, help out who they can. one of my favourite stories is of this one janitor in a building bts had a photoshoot in - this janitor guy was cleaning a rag in the bathroom when jungkook walked in. the janitor completely froze up, nervous that jk was in the same room and kept cleaning his rag without looking at him. suddenly, jk walked up to the sinks to wash his hands, cleared his throat to catch their attention, bowed a little and said, thank you so much for your hard work, have a good day!! the janitor person started shaking and quickly mumbled the same to him, also telling jk that he did great and thanking him for being so kind, saying he was nervous to say so at first. jungkook smiled and left. (the janitor later posted about it on a website because he found it nice..) it's a simple interaction but it just makes me smile because they will always chat up everyone with a smile. not to even get into the stories of them being the sweetest to staff everywhere, always being punctual, arriving on time to sets and jobs to not waste anyone's time and working with them without creating a stressful environment.. yeah. jin also once offered a rapper acquaintance of theirs who was struggling financially to help him out however much he needs to just because he appreciates him.. the rapper later said that in a variety show and said he was grateful beyond belief.. bts members also truly are friends; a model who worked as a backup dancer on the last bts tour said in a video that they are as loud off camera as they are on it and they mess around a lot; another person who is a spa worker said they saw a couple of them while working and they were debating the dumbest stuff and chuckling around together, again, not a single difference from how we see them. so. i don't trust a single celebrity ever for the same reason you said, they all give me not trustworthy vibes. however, due to the overwhelming positivity of EVERYONE who has met them and the genuineness they exude, they are the only celebrities i will ever trust to be as sweet as they are both on and off screen.

What’s interesting is that their Korean songs have enough English in them - especially in the chorus or refrain, or random words - that the listener knows the gist of the song right away (the chorus in Life Goes On is in English and is beautiful!) Also, the poetry of their Korean lyrics are precisely because they are writing in their native language. It’s not really realistic to expect them to craft a whole song’s worth of nuanced lyrics in a second language.

I live in Australia and we dont have many spanish speaking people yet Despacito got a heap of radio play because its a good song and it should be the same around the world regardless of language. To me not playing songs because its not "the correct language" is a form of racism. This becomes apparent when people ring up constantly and request BTS songs for radio play yet they wont play them regardless of the demand and have various excuses as to why.

America is racist. In the constitution blacks are counted in fractions while asians arent even considered humans at all. It took several amendments to even include us and several decades of protest. As you get older I think you want more than just a 'bop'. Not that there is any shortage of those with BTS! They literally have something for everyone! You want more substance in your music, you want great production, meaningful lyrics and you want the artists behind the music to be decent people. I think it is partly to do with the Korean culture where there is respect for your elders (even if they are just months older) and where being boastful is frowned upon. Western consumers are seeing this substance and I think they are liking it more and more. Please stick with BTS, ARMY will support you. Every time i get really interested in an artist, part of me dreads it because I'm scared to get invested and then it turns out they were trash people. Because when i get into artists i care about more than just the music when it comes to them. What comforted me about BTS is their consistency. Naturally, I watched so much content from before their debut all the way until now and they haven't changed. Of course they have changed in different ways as they went from teens to adulthood, but the core values that make them them havent changed. They were real, humble, kind and genuine in the beginning and they're still the exact same way now. bts and army have a special connection, love and respect for each other. it is something rare to see, it developed through struggles against the world. bts only had army when they started, no one welcomed them. the hurtles they faced then and face now may be different, but still we have each other's back. they want to inspire us, to give us strength, they stand up for us just as we support them and spread the positivity further to better the world. army and bts have always been and will always be on this path together, hand by hand i want to give you few quotes from the boys themselves :) j-hope: ARMYs absolutely... I feel like they've become an icon themselves. I'm so proud of them. They're amazing. ARMY is like an artist in itself now, too. Sort of like they're one big symbol of the era? ARMY is as famous as BTS now. I think we give each other good energy, and helped each other to make something good. It might sound obvious coming from a member of BTS, but if I were ARMY, I'd never be ashamed to call myself a fan of BTS. Anyway, I'm seriously I want them to always know I'm really, really grateful for them Jungkook: ARMY are the main characters. Everything we focus on comes back down to ARMY. We share in each other’s feelings & they’re the source of our strength. It’s not enough to just say ARMY & us like or love each other. There’s definitely more to it than that. Jimin’s 2021 birthday live: In the past, when I thought about armys, they seemed like my friends or colleagues. But you know, even with the members… we didn’t all get along from the beginning. We were all so different. We liked different things. We had different personalities. The 7 of us got together, and spent time together, and 10 years has passed. So it’s not simply a matter of liking this person or not anymore. I’ve developed feeling that I can’t describe. So at first when we started to get fans, and ARMYs came to existence, when we promoted on music shows with them, and communicated with them, they felt like friends or colleagues. In my head, it felt like we had our arms around each other’s shoulders. But time went on, the relationship went beyond friendship, and beyond that, and beyond that, and beyond that. So now, I can’t explain it. For example, if someone asks us “What is ARMY to you?”, I’d be at a loss of words. It’s hard to describe in a word. Yes, that kind of relationship we developed. Actually, we don’t have a distant relationship, but I can’t simply say it’s a close relationship. But you’ve become someone I love, and miss at the same time. I think, we love each other so much. You don’t talk about stuff like this in your everyday life. You don’t tell someone “I love you” all the time. But we do. We proudly say “I love you”. We have that kind of relationship. I really really wish for your happiness. Really. Jimin’s 2021 birthday live: I met with some of my closest friends after work last night. And we ended up talking about you (ARMY) a lot. I really like these friends and… they said that I should be really thankful of you. Si I said I know and I have to come to say hello to you after work tomorrow. I said I have to do a Vlive. That’s what we talked about. When I’m with my friends, we mention the word “ARMY” a lot more than you expect. When they’re joking around, and when someone teases me, I say “ARMY fans will come and get you”. They joke around together about that. Namjoon on a Vlive after the concert in 2020: We have something different and special too…our ARMY. Being together with ARMY. BTS in 2022 is really complicated and sophisticated. When you say BTS, it’s not just 7 boys, it includes the industry, maybe the Korean thing but mostly the ARMY. the point is, bts isn't just about the 7 boys. it's a huge wave consisting of various people! and what they ignore is the existence of the army. different races, different genders, so many different types of people are meaningfully involved in this name bts. i just want people to know that. we might not be great as the self-made artists or anyone else but we got something special too, we got something different than others, i think. that can be nationality, language we use and we write, but i think the most important point is that the army and the people who truly support us and not just supporting but being together with us. so when you say the name of bts, it's not just the 7 boys. it includes the industry, the korean thing, the asian, and mostly the armys that truly are together in our every day lives. it's not one way it's mutual. we give them something, they give us something, i mean you guys give us something. and i truly felt today as well while seeing you guys in person and hearing your voices, it comes from the heart, and it's about the soul. it's about sharing hearts and sharing souls. where we might not know each other, if i didn't do this team or music, maybe i would have a trip in las vegas and pass by you guys as a tourist from korea. but through the music, performance, and team, we can be something, we call this 인연 (meant to be) in korean but we became something, a relationship. and i think that's everything. life is unfair, a lot of unluck, happiness and joy are really short but we met each other so we made something great.

No it's not understandable that life goes on got so little air play because despite the language of the song and the band are in high demand (They were the highest selling artists of 2020). Fans stream and buy their music, that's what it should be about, the fans. Also the US is the largest music market said to be a global market, if you can chart English Songs in the second largest music market in the world Japan, why can't you chart non English Songs in the largest. As the Forbes article said it's plain xenophobia rooted in the music industry. Also keep in mind that target and other stores only started selling physical Korean albums because ARMY pushed for year's just like the lady said in the video we called so many times for radio to play BTS. Thanks for the reaction appreciate it. John Cena loves us. He wrote a book for ARMY.
@nuhkyah232 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed, straight up Xenophobia. Ain't no small town Korean boyband gonna take their air time and their awards. I can't see another reason because, the fact that Americans are buying half a million physical BTS albums, it's obvious Americans are listening to the music although it is in Korean. Despite this though other Kpop groups are getting global recognition too. It will be interesting to see where things are in the next couple years

let’s not forget u couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing despacito when it came out for almost 2 years. that language barrier never stopped anyone but now that it’s korean people want to say something about language

Because its mostly (generalizing) an American/ native English speakers problem to not like the thought of not hearing the songs in English as for most of their life that's what they have been used too. I am from Spain and if my friends say they "don't like BTS", they have actually given the time to check out their music and simply don't like it, however their argument is never "i can't understand what they're saying" (which is what I usually hear now that I live in the US) since we grew up not understanding most of the songs we listened too. Racism and xenophobia is not to be ignored since it also plays a huge part in it, i didnt see anyone complaining about "not understanding Despacito" which was everywhere and most people CLEARLY don't know what it's about.

I love that you are open-minded, sincere, and appreciate the work of the group. I was always a big fan of rock and metal and for a long time my musical taste was very limited. Fortunately, I feel that this group helped me to expand my musical horizons a lot. I'm sure many Armys have already told you this, but I still want to insist that BTS are extremely versatile artists, who are not afraid to show different styles. I was very impressed that these guys have done practically everything: Rock, EDM, pop, Jazz, Neo soul, Hip Hop, R&B, Funk, Ballads, metal, etc. I strongly believe that BTS is a place for all those who want to put prejudice aside and just enjoy the music. I've been in this fandom for 5 years and I feel like it all happened too fast, I didn't even notice the amount of time I follow the guys because I'm still like the first time I fell in love with their personalities and their art. They are beautiful human beings who only do what they love and in the process inspire millions and create strong appreciation among people who don't even know each other. Thank you very much for your videos and I hope you continue to know more about the group for a long time 💜 Btw, sorry if I made any grammar mistake, english isn't my first lenguaje 😔

@@kpatoine I agree. Also, of course some reactors start reacting to BTS for views - they are popular and the channel wants views to grow. Some reactors then become genuine fans as they delve into the work and others don’t - but if you don’t like the reaction just don’t watch it. I despair sometimes when I see toxic, and quite aggressive comments left on reaction videos - it just reflects badly on BTS fans, not just to the reactors but to everyone else watching their videos. Places like Europe has a lot of mixed languages played regularly on the radio from all the countries, it's normal. US occasionally "allows" Spanish, but the reason you think (other language songs) seems "quaint" is because the US market doesn't allow diversity at all. As a Metalhead, I've been listening to music in other languages (German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Norwegian) since the 1980s. That said, metal as a genre also gets screwed over/misaligned all the time in the western music/media industry (did you know they have metal finalists on EU Voice competitions? Can you imagine that here? lmao) so I know what BTS is going through right now.

Hi guys, enjoy your journey discovering BTS and the ARMY, you won't regret it. I'm a 68 year old ARMY and my sister is 82. I have two grandkids that are also ARMY'S. These gentlemen are role models to the youth as to their passion for their chosen craft. They never gave up and continue to hone and better themselves to this day. They are such an inspiration!!! Kudos to Bang Si-Yuk, BTS creator, who gave them the tools and freedom to be true to themselves in creating their music.

Thank you gentlemen. I totally understand Kyle's apprehension about liking an artist and then being crushed later. The members of BTS have made some poor choices. However, they admit to them, apologize, promised to do better, and fulfill those promises. Examples: They took the accusations of misogyny seriously. They looked at what critics said, removed the problematic songs and tweets (yes, mild by US standards, but they were reinforcing the idea that a woman should be home waiting for her man with dinner on the table type of thing), learned why they were a problem, and became proponents for the women's movement that was just starting then. There have been a number of baseless accusations of plagiarism, but there has been a case where Namjoon realized that he inadvertently had done so. He had a phrase that was bouncing around in his head for some months, and then wrote a song with that phrase as part of the chorus. The problem was that phrase came from someone who Namjoon was communicating with. When he realized his mistake, he publicly apologized and included the person in the credits.

Please don't be bothered by those toxic fans, you can do what you want, it's your content :) For me personally, their songs, lyrics, and sincerity really helps me to learn to accept and love myself, they help me to have a more positive thoughts about human, about life. What's fascinating to me is that army felt like a family, although we may don't know each other, but someone always give a positive vibe when something went wrong. As RM says in recent vlive, let's focus on positivity, don't let negativity drain your energy :) Ah, one thing to remember, BTS albums each have a solid concept, so it's like their music is growing together as they grow more mature. From school trilogy in 2013-2015, Wings era in 2016, You Never Walk Alone in 2017, Love Yourself era (Her, Tear, Answer) in 2018-2019, Map of The Soul (Persona, 7) in 2019-2020, and BE album in 2020 (which is produced mostly by members during pandemic). This xCeleste vid made such an important impression on me when I was new ARMY. Positivity breeds positivity. The more you get to know BTS as people, the more you fall in love with their music and everything they do. In 9 years since debut, there is not ONE clip of them being problematic to ANYONE. Instead there are countless stories of random people praising their interactions with BTS, like a food delivery driver who said Suga ordered food on a stormy night and in the comment section of the order told the driver to to drive safe and not worry about rushing the delivery. Or a waiter in Vegas last weekend saying Jimin danced with him goofy when some of the guys went to a restaurant after the concert and got tipsy and sang along to their music. Or Jungkook cleaning up spilled water or tripping hazards at awards shows instead of letting staff do it. The list just goes on. They have GOOD hearts. Whether you do it as a reaction or just for your personal interest off-screen, I think you'd really enjoy watching a variety of their non-music content simply because you both value positivity, kindness, and good-natured people. They are so funny and sweet and goofy and kind, it's just impossible to watch them interact with each other and not feel like a weight's been lifted from your shoulders. THAT is the BTS magic!

Thank you for doing this. I enjoyed every minute of it. I too was skeptical at first, but seeing how much BTS loves their fans, changed that. Here's 2 examples: The first time BTS lost at the Grammys, they didn't just go home letting their fans fend for themselves, they knew how up set we were, and they went live on their website to tell us they're ok and for us not to worry, and they'll work harder next time. Which, they don't have to work harder, I wasn't their fault. They are so humble. When "Permission To Dance" debut at number 1 on Billboard Top 100, Jimin went on twitter and got down on his knees and did a full bow and sincerely thanked the fans, (this bow is called Keunjeol (Big Bow)This is only used for the most formal occasions and to show the most respect.) There are so many other times I can mention...... Guys, just know, BTS is for real. If you want to know the true story from the beginning, watch "The Rise of Bangtan" Documentary series. 💜💜💜

Been following you since your 1st BTS video - it's great to see you diving deeper. I love your commentary, the research you do, your honest opinions, and your relatable conversations. As a 56 yr old ARMY who has been following them for 3 years, I went thru the same reservations, disbelief of character, and curiosity you are experiencing as you begin your journey. As a Dead/jam band fan, I've gotten a lot of teasing from my picky music friends about jumping into this rabbit hole, but i really don't care. I attended 3 of 4 of the vegas shows and they are one of my top performers hands down. (Eurthymics Missionary Man tour, Peter Gabriel, the dead/phish and IRS era REM being the others). I've seen thousands of shows, big and small. You get a feel for when a band feeds off the crowd energy and gives it back to keep the circle going. You can feel the sincerity in actions, body language, facial expressions and gestures. These guys are the real deal - as improbable as it may seem in this negative world we currently live in. They are an anomaly and I think it is why so many gravitate to them. I find a lot of similarity in the fandoms of the Dead & BTS. the "if you know, you know" feeling of being in on something special that the outside just doesn't "get". With the Dead it was assumptions that all fans were just dirty hippies and not doctors and lawyers and business owners . we Recognized one another by a phrase from a song, or geeking out over trading tapes and feeling a connection with other fans/making quick friends because you connect on a different level. BTS/ARMY is the same for me. It's a diverse, caring community (for the most part ) which is accepting of differences, welcoming, creative, articulate, and as genuine and giving as the band we follow/adore. BTS lead by example and there are thousands of hours of documented proof. They are vulnerable, sensitive, chaotic, humorous, loving and unapologetically themselves. They are perfectionists, consummate professionals and the kings of duality. They can go from goofy to serious in the blink of an eye. THey are changing perceptions, norms, breaking down barriers, and more importantly have given this music lover something to be excited about again. They have taught me to be my most authentic self and to love myself doing it - even if I fail. (which is also okay to do). In the current world of plastic, shallow and self absorbed overhyped stars, they fill a huge void that's been lacking. Authenticity. I am excited to follow your journey. I watch a lot of reactors because it's fun to follow the journey/discovery of these fine 7 young men. it is fun to relive the same shock and surprises I felt alone, following this band when the rest of my house was asleep. We can tell sincerity and authenticity in reactors, and in bands. We don't follow either blindly. Glad you guys are giving BTS an honest chance. You wont like everything and that's okay. But don't base their whole discography on not liking one song. there is something for everyone, you only have to open your mind to it. Looking forward to more reactions from you guys!

I am loving these reactions. You guys are great. Just thought I would give you a couple bits of info. Justin Bieber has been nominated 22 times and won 2 Grammy's. BTS have 3 English songs, Permission to Dance was the last one they released in which some of the choreography is actually sign language to allow the hearing impaired to dance with them and understand the song. They also have several collab songs that are mostly English that they have done either as a group or individual members with other artists. They have also released several Japanese albums that consist of mostly Japanese versions of their Korean songs with a few Japanese only tracks. This is a Korean music industry standard as Japan have been their biggest consumers outside of Korea for years. Also I am 34 and very much had the same view of waiting for the shoe to drop when it came to 'nice people artists'. I am glad to say that everything I have seen so far (I have only been ARMY myself since November of 2021) leads me to believe that BTS are truly as genuine as they seem and I think that plays a large part of why ARMY is so big, so loyal and also so good themselves. I have developed a saying when I have been talking about them and ARMY and its "I came for the music and I stayed for the people." With BTS and ARMY I finally feel like I have a place to belong, with people who understand me and are willing to work with me to build a better world. I had given up hope that this world could be filled with anything other than hate and greed. When BTS found me and led me to ARMY it was like my internal world map that was full of darkness was finally being lit up with millions of purple lights. Seeing the beautiful bond between BTS and ARMY and all they have accomplished together renewed my hope that this world could achieve equality, acceptance and peace. They have helped give me the strength and the motivation to start trying to live my life again instead of just existing and to reach out again to help others instead of hiding away in fear of being hurt. Seeing others discover these amazing young men and the just as amazing family they have built (ARMY) brings me so much joy. I look forward to seeing you discover more about our crazy purple family. What I also find amazing with our boys is that they after a sold-out concert, they go on Vlive to talk to and hang out with Army and I love that about them. They are so generous with their time. 💜💜💜

I appreciate you taking the time to watch this video. Understanding ARMY and the good works they do is a big part of the puzzle. I am a 63 year old ARMY from Canada and I was lucky enough to attend the first two concerts in Vegas recently. It's an incredibly warm and inclusive fandom. A good percentage of the fans make up little gifts to give each other (I gave out 75 handmade bracelets) and we all communed and talked to each other all weekend. Many fans don't have other friends who are also into BTS, so they attend concerts and functions alone, but never feel lonely as they are always brought into a group of other fans....it's a beautiful thing. As you said, it's disappointing to become a fan of an artist only to find out they are shitty people in the end. BTS are the best example of good humans I have ever seen and the fandom wants to make them proud (even knowing they will never know us personally). Because they release so much content of their real lives and have cameras on them almost constantly, we feel like we get to know them as people and not just as celebrities. It makes for a loyal fanbase, but at the cost to them of their privacy. There has never been a BTS scandal of any kind. They realize the weight of their words and actions and try to do good works for world betterment in the hopes that their fans will follow suit. I truly believe they are changing the world and it gives me much hope for future generations. Thank you for your reaction and input.

It really is natural to have doubts about an artist as a person since the music industry can be a dark place especially if you are as big as BTS and I'm like this as well but let me say this. BTS have a LOT of content out apart from their music such as game shows, reality type shows, documentaries, vlogs etc. (Run BTS, BTS in the Soop, American Hustle Life, and more) They show themselves so much on camera for so many years that I feel it's impossible to fake a personality. Regardless of that though it is just so apparent how every moment they stay true to themselves and how their sincerity and pureness just shines through them (and when you see it that's when you fall in love really). Plus, in the 10 years of their active career there hasn't been a single person to say anything bad about them. It's only praise about how talented, polite and kindhearted they are. I'm looking forward to seeing you maybe react to more of their content and get to know their personalities better! Love your videos ❤️

The most important thing about being an ARMY at least for me is how I bring what I have learned from BTS and ARMY into my real life. Empathy, openness to experience, passion and purpose. When I grow old and gray I will remember these point in my life with great joy.

I am 59 years old I live in Texas. I am army. I love BTS and what they stand for. I love them as the talented artist they are, but above all, I love them as human beings. Thank you for giving BTS a chance, and an honest respectful reaction.

I honestly appreciate what you're doing so much. You always try to do your research, you discuss things thoroughly in your videos and just put out consistently quality content, but you also listen to the fans and follow our advice. You're very quickly becoming one of my favorite reaction channel. I also enjoy when you're doing the chats before your reactions where you're drawing a question and then answering it.

Honestly, I saw your first BTS vid and subbed. I think this is just the beginning of the “K-POP” rabbit hole you’re both about to go into. BTS and BlackPink are amazing but as you continue to discover new groups, you end up finding new sounds and music you never imagined could come from a “K-pop” group. And because of the industry, a lot of their journeys are documented, so you get to see their struggle to get to where they’re at and it’s almost impossible not to root for them. I’m excited for you to get to know BTS more and react more to Black Pink and also other groups-I would recommend Straykids because I feel like the message behind a lot of their music would resonate with you both. They self-produce a lot of their own music and had quite a journey to get to where they are (which is all documented because they were on a survival show to debut as a group and almost had a few members eliminated permanently-it’s basically what won my heart over.) I started with “God’s Menu” which actually teases “Back Door” at the end, which I watched, then came “Thunderous” and I was absolutely sold. So if I were to recommend an order of videos, it would be that. (:

Thank you for your videos. And I appreciate both your open minded approach and appreciating the boys. And being an ARMY is a principal rather than a membership. Supporting the boys, being kind and supportive to oneself and those around you….that’s it.

Thanks so much for your reaction. I just remember a few years ago, an American artist came out with an album after a while away and everyone talked about how horrible it was. The DJs, producers, even the fans who love this person talked about how disappointed they were with the album. Fast forward to Grammy season and this person ended up with several nominations. Some of the insiders in responding to ARMY’s complaint that BTS were not nominated indicated that this person had earned the right for a nomination because of the amount of time in the industry and the amount of music that he had created over the preceding six or seven years even though the nominated music, well, stunk. Which seems laughable to me. The award is supposed to be about that song for that year not about a career unless you’re getting a lifetime achievement award or something along those lines. When someone pointed out how amazing BTS’s music is and how much volume they have sold, the response back is that it doesn’t matter. The radio stations will say that the label needs to do a better job engaging with them if they want their artist’s music played but then they will take an American artist who no one knows about and promote them all over the place because as they say they get a lot of requests so this must mean this person is popular and we should play them. But when ARMY requested music we were relegated to a pack of hormonal teenage girls spamming the radio line even though we’re one of the biggest fan bases in the world, and they dismiss us and say no one really wants to hear it. It is just crazy. Most of the radio stations around me don’t even do requests because no one calls in anymore because no one was getting what they really wanted on the air… no one was requesting what was actually playing. It’s all about money and relationships and favors and power and not about what the listeners want for too many stations these days, I don’t speak Spanish but Despacito is a fun song and radio plays it allllllll the time. I don’t speak Korean either but I’d love to hear BTS music on my local station and would support them and their advertising partners if they did. Oh well. I can just stream what I want commercial free.😎. Sorry for the soapbox. 💜
