This is the first video in my new series on learning to cook without a recipe. Many people enjoy cooking videos and sharing recipes, but I am not necessarily one of those people. I really just enjoy learning new cooking techniques and experimenting with unusual flavor combinations. In this series, we are going to talk about the different food groups and categories of food. We will discuss what is required to make bread, the difference between red meat and white meat, what you can do to include more vegetables in your diet, all things dairy, and much more. Great idea for a series. Once I accidentally added cracked pepper instead of ground pepper to yellow split pea soup. I added a lot. I tried but I just couldn't eat it. Chickens to the rescue. I added cayenne pepper and fed it to my happy flock. They loved it. Food never gets wasted when you have animals around.

I’m excited for this! I’ve tried to venture off of recipes and just remember ratios but add in other flavors and play with amounts. The other day I was making a flour coating and my daughter was helping me add some seasonings. She just kept going until I realized how much she put it haha. I just went with it and it actually was really good. Pleasantly surprised
