Ep 1: Top 5 Tips to Get Your Child Talking - Speech-Language Pathologist | Teacher Kaye Talks

This is my introduction video for my Speech-Language Pathology playlist! I really hope this helps even just one person out there, so if you think you know anyone who might benefit from this, please share, and subscribe =)
In this video, I talk about my top 5 tips for getting your child talking and picking up new words faster! These are all based on best practices in scientific journals, but also from my own experience as a therapist for nearly a decade. All of these, I always explain to my clients, should be done as much as possible, whenever you are interacting with the child.
Keeping these in mind, you can expect progress in as little as 2 weeks!
I'm working on having the text resources on my blog very soon, but I'm soooo new to this and I'm still a little overwhelmed, but really excited at the same time.

Naghahanda rin ako ng mga video na Filipino, para sa mga hindi bihasa sa Ingles.
Bilang isang speech and language pathologist / therapist, ito ang madalas na ipinapayo ko sa aking mga kliyente. Paano nga ba kausapin ng mas mabuti ang mga bata para marami silang mapupulot na bagong mga salita?
Kung sanayin ito sa lahat ng pagkakataon, ang inaasahan ay mas maraming tunog o salitang masasabi ang inyong anak (mula 5-buwan hanggang 7-taong gulang!)
Note: This is not equivalent to receiving personal speech-language consultations and therapy. Always refer to your (developmental) pediatrician for any concerns. This is meant to supplement what your therapists recommend, and/or provide new information for parents who are open to new ideas to try with their children.

Hi Miss Kaye, 4 year old ang anak ko at meron siyang speech and communication delay..nakakaintindi nman sya kapag inuutusan pero di xa nakaka response nang mabuti. Nagresign na ako sa work para matutukan ko yung development nya. Nung nakita ko tong channel mo sobrang thankful ako sa mga information na binibigay mo. Narealize ko ang mga kamalian ko sa early stages nya ,napasobra talaga yong screentime kaya may epekto talaga sa kanya. Sana hindi pa too late. Papanoorin ko mga videos po ninyo para matulungan ang anak kong makapag communicate nang mabuti. God is great talaga that I found your channel, Teacher. My older sister just enrolled her daughter in therapy and I know she's really struggling with being WFH mom and managing the house.. I'm an experienced Tita but her daughter is not my usual pamangkin. She's delayed on most things and she's turning 3 but can't communicate well that always lead to screaming and crying. thank you sa mga specialist na walang sawa sa pg explain about autism...nkapahelpful saming mga nanay ang mga videos niyo..at sa mga nanay na meron din anak na autism na sinishare nila kung anu pwese magawa pra mkatulong...maraming salamat sa effort niyo .....my anak din ako na 5yrs old na...wala pa siya 1yr old dami namn sinsabi...papapapap.mmamama...dadadada...pero ng sbra na siya 1yr old en half...hindi na namin naririnig mgsalita....as working nanay...lagi ko nlng siya pinpanood sa tv ng nursery...din ngstop ko work after nanganak ng 2nd...2.5 na siya..wala talaga sinasabi....di mkatingin walang pakialam...interesado lagi sa gulong ng sasakyan ...hanggang ngayun...yun lng dami na niya sinasabi .nkapagbilang na siya 1-100.ma identify na niya yung animals.numbers.fruits.transportation colors..dami na niya dinodrawing at sinasabi na niya kung anu dnidwar niya...mga body parts.masasabi na niya kung anu pangalan niya.edad niya.name ng papa niya name ng mama at name ng kapatid niya...at kung san siya nkatira...nkapagspell na din ng mga fruits at sinusulat pa without kodigo....ngayun suplado na siya...umiiyak siya ng npakasakit at tinutulak ako pgpinapagiltan o pinapalo ko siya...tapoz sinasabi niya i feel sad with matching facial expression ng sad...medyu naging sensitive na siya ngayun...nkaramdam na siya ng sakit pgpinpagalitan ...😢😢😢😢 pinapanood niya ako pnu mghugas ng bigas at pinggan....natutu na siya kumain kahit di sinusubuan...marami na rin ngbago sa kanya....lagi ko nlng pipray na maging okay lng sana siya pglaki niya...sana maging normal lng siya....yung 2nd baby ko nga mg 3 dis july ..nasasabi plng niya dada..mamaam...baba...pero nkapg a-z na ng alphabet at nkapgbilang gang 5....😢😢😢😢

Nagiging confident ako sa ginanawa ko kasi alam ko na professional ang nag tuturo at ng reremind... Im trying my best to continue his therapy at home since we can only afford once a week therapy.... He can nod for a yes and shake his head for NO... May daughter is a Profound hearing loss & she already have hearing aid now, sometimes shes responding , but in the other times shes ignoring us, still shes cant speak,.. she 2 yr and 7 mos now..

Hi teacher kaye my son is 2 yrs.old turning 3 on nov.just want to share and ask about his speech delay he start talking mama papa at the age of 7months and when he turns 1yr.old its stop but now he can speak and understand he can count 1 to10 and up to 20's and even until 100 but he is bulol sometimes he knows to speak colors even the solar system he knows pluto mars like that he says that and also the sounds of animals he can speak the sounds and also he can nursery rhymes but what i notice in communicating to speak of what he wants he did not speak he just take my hand and guide me to the fridge or to get his cookies and his behavior before when i take him outside he just run so fast not like other kids that can slowly but now its get better he understand when i say just walk he listen because somethings happen when i let him run and enjoy the outside world he fall and then he got hurt on his knees the i talk to him i tell him you dont need to run we will just walk and the suddenly he follows what i say but the he still not talking why po kaya ganun ung baby ko teacher mahal dw po kase ang speech theraphy kaya diko po sya madala dun and salamat po sa pag advice nyo po malaking tulong po talaga itatry kopo sa baby ko yan and before po pala mahilig po sya mag tantrums lalo napo pag sinasaway po sya pag sinabing no pero ngaun po dina sya nagtantrums konti nalang po nakikinig nadin po sya pag sinasaway need lang po ng advice kung ano po kaya ang kondisyon nya and may beahivior din po pala sya na kapag na eexcite po sya sa pinapanood nya o kaya po nakikita nyang natatakot yung character na pinapanood nya nagiging agresive po sya bgla po syang nananampal samen ng papa nya o kaya po maninipa po sya yun lang po teacher kaye sana po maadvice nyo po ako kung ano po bang kundisyon nya at kung ano po ang dapat kung gawin maraming salamat po
