EP.10 - MAKE A DOUBLE BED FIT IN YOUR VAN! Making our sliding out bed frame

In this episode we talk through our bed design, still needs a bit of work but its MK1 project bed. We cut out and install our supporting timbers before installing the sliding bed mechanism and explain how and why we do this. There will be a follow on video later for Mk2 but this is the prototype.

Well the bed actually goes back quite a lot when you push it in and for 2 people, we didn't want to be cramped when in bed. We're able to get away with it being a high top which makes a difference. Plus we don't live in our van so it's really just a space for sleep primarily when we go away to places. We hardly spend any time in the day in the van as we're always out doing something on our trips ☺

I think you have put so much effort to this build. Made to last for sure. I hope you sleep comfy after much labour. I am thinking of doing similar. I wonder if the gaps cause any discomfort. My plan is different from yours, but more basic enabling the Slats to be closer together. Great job and I liked your exploration about the jigsaw blades 😊. Happy travels guys.
