I am garhwali . Really u have enjoyed the the soul of garhwal. Food is awesome here and u r lucky you ate those food it is hard to find here. People occasionally make traditional food. U can enjoy arsha, fana, paryushan, rotana and many others. You can enjoy the local festival and traditional marriages to understand the culture of garhwal.

@@harshitabarish nope, tribal culture means having a tribal leader and their own tribal laws, they are not tribes because they follow Indian constitution, also before this Garhwal region was under a king and was an Indian princely state, before the british province, later it became a british province, you will find a lot of british architecture ..., after the british province, it was known as Uttarakhand, but it came under UP, later it was devided and known as Uttaranchal, meaning "North Himalayan Region" and then later renamed to "uttarakhand", it has merged many of these small himalayan and surrounding region kingdoms into one Indian state, garhwal is one of them. Just googled all of this.

Waah nice episode i was feeling nostalgic watching this video. We also used to eat palak ki dhabadi, arabi k patte ki sabji and also lingdey that we used to get from forest ourselves during monsoons. I was blessed that my father is a retired forest and I got to spend my childhood near forest full of natures gifts.

In the USA, we call Colocasia plants "elephant ears" because their leaves have that same shape. They are mostly used for decoration but you can buy the roots at special markets for communities that know how to cook this plant. 🙂

This reminds me of the 5 days we spent in Rudraprayag and the GMVN hotel we were put up at cooked authentic local meal just for us. The food was so, so Good- Jhangore ki kheer, Mandua Ki Roti were just amazing ..real, nutritious wholesome food! :)

Baliji authentic Garhwali cuisine me doodh, dahi, mattha, Makhan aur ghee bahut important hota hai. Lekin aapke videos me ye sab bahut Kam dikhayi de raha hai , breakfast me Makhan aur lunch aur dinner me ghee jaroor hota tha. Baadi feeki hoti hai aur isko ghee aur daal, faanu, kafli etc. Ke saath khaate hain. Ye manduwe ke aate ka halwa hai. Hope ki aapke videos dekhne ke baad Garhwali food ki demand badhe aur ye Garhwal me restaurants me available hone lage. Thank you for exploring.

Yes Sir,milk and it's products were the essential part of garhwali food just as in entire Uttrakhand and Himachal but perhaps due to migration these r not available as much as used to be.Perhaps for this reason u couldn't have Martha,curd and butter on plate,additionally chutney of fire cooked red tomatoes with spring green leaves of garlic was also missing but better luck next time and lastly You have done wonderful job.Thumbs up to u.

Sir pauri aur srinagar garhwal ki taraf urad ki daal ka chausa banta hai wo bhut acha hota hai. Aur agar iron ki kadayi mein bane to bhut badiya hota hai.

We have this Ragi cooked in buttermilk and chilly,jeera and ghee in breakfast it has high iron and fibre content and is nutritional

@@raginiiyer We need Ragi flour 2 cup water 1 cup butter milk 1 cup mustard and jeera for tempering oil, ghee (optional) salt, sesame 2 tbspn, ajwain 1/2 tbspn green chillis chopped mix ragi flour with water and butter milk to form a mix, buttermilk can be adjusted according to sourness add salt to this mixture in an kadhai heat oil add mustard let it heat till you hear crackling lower flame add jeera and sesame add ajwain add green chillies and pour the mixture of ragi flour in it mix well and cover with lid and cook it for around 10-12 mins on low flame keep stirring when ready you can add one tbspn of ghee on top before serving you can have it warm or when cold add some unheated groundnut oil(1-2 tspn) on top tastes awesome
