As always, very clear explanations. I really like how you focus on the geometry and the lofting. I have a much clearer understanding of how you get pretty much everything off of the lofting.

That’s really the magic and power of the lofting. So much information can be teased out from it. Of course you have to tweak and adapt once you are fitting the parts together. So the stem bevel you derive from the lofting is just an initial ideal. The battens during lining off and planking will help you dial in the bevel further

THANK YOU! I was trying to invent how to bevel the stem. After 10 hours of brain f just saw your video. Btw, Fushion 360 would make your calculations way easier.

You’re welcome. There weren’t any numerical calculations to this process. It was a geometric algorithm that I didn’t find too tricky or difficult to execute. Paper, pencil, dividers. Perhaps it seems harder in vid than in actuality. Regardless, thanks for the recommendation.

Love the slick. You can work it like a plane with some practice. Go for longer pairing cuts, and slide it on a skew. You'll get the nicest spirals falling away from the work. For some of that rough work though (if you don't want to use a power planer), a draw knife would save you a bunch of time.
