Comparing to the small so-called "apartments" in New York City with shower and toilet on the floor these micro apartments have everything you need: kitchen, shower, toilet (with bidet) and even a washing machine. When I had to rent such a small place I would definitley prefer the Japanese micro apartments.

I like a more square room, like this one, rather than the apartments that are long and skinny. I feel like the square shape gives more flexibility how to set up the room furniture. There's a lot of potential with this one. I like that it doesn't have one of the scary lofts, the bathroom glass walls would be easy enough to cover so people can't just see in from the living room, and there's a place for a fridge. There's good amount of storage and place to hang clothes. The price is a bit higher, but looks to be conveniently located near a lot of places. I could walk to anywhere I need to go.

I agree! I like the layout; much easier to furnish with a square layout. I would also put window cling to keep the bathroom private.

I like this apartment, it's very similar to the one you live in now. The amenities within a 3 minute walk is fantastic. Do people use wall beds in Japan? In the US these are also called "Murphy Beds". They can come out of a wall but they can also fold down from a shallow cabinet. Here in the US people use them to save space because during the day the bed folds into the cabinet, The single bed cabinets are the length of a single bed and the height, when the bed is enclosed in the cabinet, is the width of the bed. The cabinets can be quite nice too. Cabinet beds are furniture and do not need to be attached to the wall studs.

This is really nice. I would get a storage unit that has a desk space and sleep on a futon. And the fact it has space for a decent fridge is awesome ... 😊

The tub is a deal maker as far as I'm concerned. The three minute walk to amenities is perfect as I have couch potato tendencies. Your presentations are consistently informative and entertaining.

Hello Ussui. It's a little bigger than your current apartment. The distribution seems good to me, I love the wooden floor, as well as the bathroom finishes. Excellent lighting and a larger bathroom than the previous ones (without considering that bathroom as soon as you enter the apartment, horrible). I think the full-length mirror is a nice detail. As well as the shelves in the kitchen. And it's good that this one does have a shelf to store toilet paper. And it has a good location. The loft bed is definitely the best solution, although I can think of another one. The desk next to the kitchen, where you suggested putting the refrigerator, the bed with the headboard next to the bathroom, and the refrigerator at the foot. I'm suggesting without knowing dimensions, so it's just a sketch of an idea. A loving hug from a distance, from Lima, Peru. Blessings.

judging from the power supplies, i think the space beside the kitchen is MEANT for a refrigerator. a 136L would be more than enough, then put a microwave above it

The window to the shower is a no-go. Why is there a family-size washing machine but no fridge? Small washer and small fridge would do better. A TV could only go on one wall, butthat is the same space you would place a bett/sofa. What was the architect thinking?

This layout is really good for a microapartment! I adore that nice big bathroom area (well, big for a micro one), and having room for a washer/dryer is great!

I would definitely put a Murphy bed, the ones that are horizontal and come with an incorporated foldaway desk. I'd also use a foldable chair, and hang it on the wall when not in use. The thing that I'm still wondering is where to put the clothing, especially in the colder months with so many layers needed. And I agree about the privacy film for the toilet window. It would look less cluttered and tiny.

Eu particularmente gostei bastante deste apartamento, aquela janela do banheiro é necessária 👏👏👏, a lavadora e secadora já ajuda bastante, cama dobrável pode ser uma boa solução, ele é bem iluminado, o piso é bonito e as prateleiras da cozinha pode ajudar bastante. In these micro apartments you can only put a high bed with livable space underneath. Toilet and bathroom are well arranged but I don't understand the transparent glass partition. Nice videos, interesting in documenting a living reality that we don't have here. In Italy we are claustrophobic😆.

I love this one. Small but simple and functional layout. I would put a futon against the bathroom partition wall with a TV on the opposite wall (underneath the clothing rail).

De los que más me han gustado. Es fácil de amueblar y los inconvenientes fáciles de solucionar (básicamente poner plástico esmerilado en los cristales del baño hasta media altura). Una opción para el escritorio que no has probado y libera la puerta del frigorífico: conla cabecera de la cama contra la pared del baño, el escritorio ponerlo tocando la pared contraria por el lateral, pegado en su largo a la cama, de cara a la ventana. Así, para abrir el frigorífico solo debes mover la silla bajo el escritorio.😊

I liked the hooks/pegs outside the front door for hanging wet umbrellas, etc. It is a tight sqeeze to get a bed and desk/table and chair in there.

Hi Usui...I'm Kent from Kuching Malaysia. Love your channel by the way...Just to share with you. I lived and studied in Seoul from 2015-2017 and rented an Officetel. I have basically a 21m² room...a length of 7m and width of 3m. I was lucky as the closet, study desk, fridge, cabinets and washer were all built in. My bed was actually a sofa bed that someone threw out. Good thing I could sleep on it at night and sat on in in the day. I have a futon on top to smooth it out. Maybe you can consider have a sofa bed. Keep up your great work...enjoying all your videos.

Next to the kitchenette have an open shelf cabinet go there and then have a mini fridge on top. You can use the shelves as a pantry or dresser. And you will be able to access the mini fridge. Then have the bed against the wall. The desk by the window.

Really nice i think I’d go with furniture low to the ground. Floor bed, kotatsu table, little stand for a monitor with a mini pc/console, then medium size fridge in that corner with a toaster oven on top of that

Actually I’d try to install a countertop extension to the kitchenette and under that I’d have a slightly larger than normal mini fridge and then on that extended countertop I’d have the toaster oven and coffee maker

This one is alot better ! I love the layout. The completely visable glass of the restroom is a slight blur but, its larger than your current and you can still suit it to your style. Its also a plus with a nice sized refrigerator going right in that space.

this is 9/10 the best space usage ratio although it is a little expensive, having the adjustable shelves is a very positive point, it has a good window and good natural lighting but the view from the previous one is unbeatable

This one is really nice! Good storage space, half a bathtub, good ventilation, it works even without a loft bed, the rent is not cheap but still reasonable.

I like it.I think it just needs to cover the glass of the bathroom with some paper or curtain or something. The most essencial, for me, is a good window or i'd feel suffocated and this one is good!

Perhaps this cost is because Akihabara is a popular area? The problems with this apartment are the lack of storage space and the glass windows showing the bathroom. Bathrooms should be private. You are right; your current apartment is the best so far.

This is a great apt.! Great price, nice layout and very close to transportation, eateries, and other important places. Plus, I love that you can have a full-size refrigerator now! My only concern is that you still don't have any storage space. Can you please explain how you would store your clothing, bedding, towels, etc.? Thank you.

I would have bed along window. A fold down table at the end of bed . Use the bed as a seat. The table part of the wall. Also needs more storage

Can put a small fridge on top of a table in that corner. Store suitcase or bulky things under that table. If the desk has legs (not planks) then those items can be accessed easily. Corner table is cheaper than buying a bunk-bed.

Placing a loft bed where the a/c blows on you seems a terrible idea😂 I liked option 2 the best, but would do a foldout bed that retreats to a couch during day time. That way you can watch movies before going to bed!

I really like this one. Would immediately move in. :) The desk shouldn't be as wide as you showed in your test version, I can also imagine a small round table to move around wherever it's needed to work on (laptop / ipad), eat your meals and such. Putting the laptop there as a flexible TV kind of would be great too, you can watch KZbin then all day. XD If I was single and lived in Japan, that would be mine. And there's Naruto and DBZ stuff there? How cool is that? Okay, you can't beat that.

Usui, I can do a lot in this one! I see a sofa/bed a chair, a tall, slim refrigerator. You can put your desk in there and still have space for extra wall cabinets for clothes and more storage. I love the fact that the windows open, and you can get fresh air. Scale on 1 through 10... A 10! Oh, I love the fact that you have a washer/dryer

It looks nice, but it is a bit too small and expensive. Maybe the location is higher end area. Would probably need to sleep on a futon and have a floor use style desk. Your current place is better and cheaper.

I love these tours! I would change the desk into a folding one so I could put it away when not in use. If the desk is hight adjustable it can be used as a floor table too for meals. The frosted glass for the bathroom is a must! I might do drawers for clothes and go with a floor bed so that could be folded too. I would get a cheap projecctor to watch movies and play games since the walls are already a light color to project on. I love that there is room for a tall fridge and freezer. This is definetly a good find I think. 😄👍🏼

This doesn't look much different than the previous one before. Maybe just the placement of the door and kitchenette with no window on the kitchen side . A bit bigger than the 9.86 m. The placement of the hang bar made it difficult to have loft bed as you'd probably hit your head if next to it.

Someone needs to develop a Murphy bed that is raised 4 or 5 feet off the ground. It would be like a fold down loft. When folded up (vertically), it would take up about 1 foot of wall space, but from the floor to the bottom of the folded murphy bed there would be room for storage (I foot out from the wall).

It's just like the one from ep11, but a bit bigger and a better layout. I would do the same for ep11 and put curtains on the shower and toilet area for privacy. A small fridge and then a microwave on top would be nice beside the kitchenette. And a horizontal storage where I can put the bed would be ideal. And the just use the bed as a chair, and then add one of those tables than can be flush against the bed. And it's very good for it's price since everything is just a 3 minute walk. Not a riverside apartment, but I'd take it just because of the convenience 😂.

usui san, I would advise you to have sofabed which can be fold and a fold table/side table when sit down at sofa then you may do your own works like eating, meeting, etc. so you may have extra place to keep your stuff like cloth and etc

Hi! Location, location, location, this one is a winner. You can use a small folding desk and futon. Maybe a refrigerator of 3.5 or 4 c is big enough for the space. I think that the glass can be covered with frosted no permanent adhesive paper but enough to give you privacy without covering it completely. Like the windows. Good luck!

Wow, this is a mansion.! Nice kitchen space especially if you had a folding table and two folding chairs and build or buy a little cabinet to fit beside the refrigerator counter, which would be both refrigerator area and storage area. So much room and you could have your folks down for the weekend. The bathroom facilities are lovely and just go ahead with the frosted vinyl. I prefer the kind that looks like bamboo, I’m not sure why you keep going for big beds and giant refrigerators but I would never have that. I like having a frame that rises about 18 inches from the floor because I am so old I put my futon on that and if you make an extra frame under it toward the back, you can hinge it, so it’ll fold up during the day. Easy to make you can just use hand tools. Great windows. And you could store your futons for your mom and dad on top of the cabinet that you’re going to get for the kitchen. So they can be comfortable when they come down to visit.😂

Pianta quadrata senza soppalco ottimo direi x distribuire mobili. Bella la zona cottura ma la preferisco dentro una struttura in muratura così tutta aperta nn mi piace...prima bisogna posizionare la scrivania davanti alla finestra x la luce...il frigo va bene dove dici tu....un letto a soppalco è ottimo x guadagnare spazio davanti al frigo va benissimo xk nn toglie luce alla scrivania...ciao baci

I love the idea of micro apartments but to call that sink a kitchenette is a huge stretch. Add a built in hot plate and two cupboards under then it would be a kitchenette.
