I love how happy you are in these vlogs this summer. That cow is just too cute

Editing the footage I'm realizing that it WAS such a happy, laugh-filled summer and that makes me smile. I had nothing to cry about, nothing to complain about, nothing to get all depressed or moody about... I was just busy and laughing the whole time!!! How amazing is that!

I am loving the energy of these vlogs and being able to hang out with the menagerie in the barn and coral. I am getting the pleasure without the work, which is about the extent of my energy these days. So thank you for sharing these experiences. I love seeing the growth in your editing too. So happy you are being able to clarify or blend your viewpoint of Alberta. I did that with my experiences going to Paris as a teenager younger adult and my experiences with my husband. Now I view Paris in a different light . Let me clarify nothing bad happened in Paris as a kid for me, but I would never have chosen to go back. I went back because my husband had never been and I saw Paris in a different light and had wonderful experiences there with him. Now, I smile when I think about Paris. Glad you are loving 😮the farm.

ALL of these vlogs have such a happy energy about them - I"m noticing that as I'm editing them! That's so true about getting to experience the pleasure and joy of these barn animals WITHOUT the reality of the work - don't worry Lisa, I gotchu haha. THANK YOU for noticing that about my editing! Each time is just a little more practice with so many little things - I'm still such a beginner but I feel like I'm at the point now where I could confidently take a course to learn more skills. I'd actually love to learn a little more about visual storytelling in particular so I can figure out how to make a video more engaging! But learning actual technical editing skills in Final Cut Pro would be pretty sweet, too. I'd also love to learn more about filming and cinematography just to up my game in that regard. It'll happen 🙂 I absolutely LOVE this example you shared about Paris 🥹 That is exactly the process I went through with Alberta! My perspective shifted, and my heart shifted. I'm so glad Jimmie was able to give you that gift, and that Paris now brings happiness to your heart 💙

I can see a Milk my goat with me YT short featuring Brandy, whiskey balls and Scribbles and Doodles. Filming a frisky calf while running along looks like a lot of work, but fun. You make the most beautiful healthy meals. I need cooking lessons from the Grumble Kitchen! I had no idea horses needed inhalers. You are such a great caretaker! Your clients are lucky to have you. BTW, your music choices were again spot on for the different segments. Love this one!

hahahaha, what I would give to be able to create a Milk my Goat with me series every morning. ONE DAY! Man, Astrid was so strong. Running her on that short lead with only one hand resulted in almost having my shoulder popped out of its socket multiple times. She is SO STUBBORN and when she decides she wants have zoomies in one direction, you have no choice but to try and keep up haha. She was so funny! I would literally go to sleep at night thinking about running her in the morning, it was honestly the best part of the whole freaking day. Food is such a passion of mine 😭 I especially love cooking and preparing meals with items I'm as close to as possible, so being able to collect duck eggs and goat milk and come right back to the kitchen to make breakfast was a DREAM for me. The smoked salmon was not from anywhere close HAHA but so delicious. I've always wanted to start a new channel or at least a new playlist for Grumble Kitchen recipes but there are a LOT of vegans in Grumble Farm's community who aren't always happy with the fact that I'm not, so I'm not sure if it would go over very well. I'll probably just do it anyway though lol. THANK YOU for making a comment about my music choices haha! These vlogs take me about 4-5 days to edit and the REASON for that is because I'm searching for music, fading the volume in and out, and editing the clips to each song! The website I get my music from now thinks I'm obsessed with country music since I've been downloading so many country tracks and so it keeps suggesting the most interesting country songs to work with, which is awesome haha. Might not work for the next series of vlogs I'll be editing though so I'll have to re-work the algorithm in that regard 😄

I've taken care of a mini horse, a pig and some chickens but nothing on this scale. That baby cow was so cute! One of my contractors had goats, I often got fresh goat milk, so yummy and creamy!

I was so genuinely proud of myself after this sit for pulling this off all by myself 😂 Thankfully Jade has a handful of volunteers who come out to muck the stalls and do other barn chores, so that was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! I might have DIED if I had to do that, and also I never had to bring any bales of hay up to the attic or anything so in hindsight I had it pretty easy I think haha. Oh my gosh, I remember feeling so plump after drinking about 2 goat milk lattes a day! I've never drank FRESH raw goat milk before, and I was so surprised how similar it tasted to cow's milk. Every goat thing I've ever tried has ALWAYS tasted very very goat-y. Not this!! I even made my Mom try it and she's really skeptical when it comes to trying new things, and she couldn't even taste the difference either! Being "tipped" in fresh goat milk and duck eggs was the best thing EVER!

Love the vlogs ❤ I have that feeling of being in both spaces. I lived my whole life in BC and I moved to NS when I was 30. Then through huge life changes I ended up in Massachusetts and now live here. I am homesick all the time and I think I’m homesick for the place as BC is incredibly dynamic and beautiful. But also New England has its own charms. I feel what you are talking about. Guess it’s all about finding the beauty in where you are?

Thank you for taking the time to watch these Kim! I was so curious to hear from people who have also experienced their hearts being connected to two or more places. This back-and-forth between Calgary and Alberta has me feeling ALL the feels, and often! There are so many pros and cons of each and I truly can't identify with either/or, I feel like different parts of me belong in different parts of both, you know? But then, there are parts about Calgary and Alberta that make me want to escape it... and vice versa. I feel like striking a good balance between both might be the answer for me - I'm lucky they're right beside each other and I'm not connected to a country halfway across the world, or even a state that's far away! Just a quick 9-hour drive and I can be in either place, haha. Thank you for sharing how you feel you can relate to this!

I strive to be a professional commenter like you one day 😆 I just wanted to pop in saying I am here watching 😂🫶 that little cow is so cute!
@grumblefarmАй бұрын
Hahaha, I have a "professional commenter" on my channel too and I LIVE for his comments 😂 I'm always so happy to see your name pop up when I check KZbin! (which is all the time lol) I've been watching every single one of your videos too as they pop up and am so behind on leaving my professional comments, you'll probably get blasted with them soon when I re-watch them ALL hahaha. Omg, Astrid... she's responsible for igniting my most recent obsession with cows. Where we live in the Kootenays now, there's cattle farms and ranches all around us. I walk up to the fences with no shame or fear or trespassing just to pet their noses. It's my new hobby. lol

@@grumblefarm you professional commenters are the real MVPs! ⭐️ girl please do not feel obligated to comment. I just appreciate that you’re one of the select few who watches all the way through. Oh & that also sits through my vent sessions while I figure out what the heck I’m even doing with my life 🫠🤣 I know you said that you grieved the move, but I honestly feel like it was to be surrounded by animals. That’s how you strive in life. As painful as it is, maybe God gave you & Jesse what you both maybe needed for the time being 🩷

Loving all of your vlogs especially the ranch and you sharing your relationshio with the calf. You asked about being torn between two places and I feel you. I love Toronto and when ever I have the chance I go. I moved to Orillia last December and I have to tell you it is a lot cheaper living very North of the City but a part of me does miss TO but I am enjoying the snow here In Orillia and the water . Talulah my little pug is such a trooper she loves venturing close to the water but wont go in it LOL Keep on doing your beautiful work and sharing I am just loving it and I am thinking of starting a vlog as well but so nervous of it at the same time lol I have no clue how to edit and do all of the fancy shots and all. So if you have any suggestions I would love your input♥

Oh man, Astrid sure is somethin' else 🥹 She's ignited my most recent obsession with cows, and lucky me - there are literally hundreds in the area I live in now haha. I'm always up at the fences petting them if they'll let me 🥰 (The cows, not the farmers LOL) Thank you for sharing your experience with having your heart in two places! I knew I couldn't be the only one feeling that way. There are pros and cons to each, but I think it's amazing to be able to move between the two to scratch both the city girl and the country girl itch haha. I'm originally from Toronto so I have a TON of childhood memories there - we moved out West when I was 9! I think I've been back once for a funeral, but I don't have any other connections to it. I'd LOVE to go back as an adult to visit all of the places I grew up. That'd be crazy. I was SO INCREDIBLY NERVOUS to start vlogging, omg. It feels so uncomfortable and soooo incredibly vulnerable at first haha. It's also a bit overwhelming on the technical side when it comes to filming, storing and transferring and working with longer-form longer video content, and then of course the whole editing process! I've been lucky to have Jesse at my disposal to kind of help me a long but it's been a while since I've asked for any of this help, and I've figured out most of it by trial and error on my own. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only person in the WORLD who vlogs which makes me wonder if what I'm doing is cringe (especially because I'm not fckn 20 years old) but honestly it's my FAVOURITE WAY and medium to create and share my life online! I LOVE watching other people's vlogs and following along with their days and stories, it's like reality TV but usually less trashy. I COMPLETELY support you in wanting to start a channel and will be tuning in as soon as you do 😉 I would say getting into the habit of casually filming what you're doing throughout the day anyway WITHOUT filming it is the hardest part haha. And then feeling less awkward talking to a camera lens when you're all alone, which got easier for me as I FORCED myself through it over time lol.
