Mandy Moore is also a legend and very nostalgic for me. From a walk to remember to Princess Diaries, center stage’s music, Tangled. She’s a 00s icon.

When Chris Sullivan said, "to behave like that in front of a child, that is child abuse." That hit me! As an adult, while I don't condone my dad's behavior, I now understand a bit more of why he maybe acted a certain way. But still, to this day, I for sure carry with me certain memories of things I unfortunately saw and heard as a little girl that I wish I hadn't, and no child should! 😢

I just came here to make the same comment! When he said that (re: seeing parents violently fight IS child abuse) , I felt so seen. Thank you, Chris Sullivan!

I feel exactly the same way! Although the abuse wasn't targeted at me, I was still a victim as we all were. And it comes out in small ways, whether it's avoiding sitting with back to the door or avoiding romantic relationships because of the fear of repeating the same patterns. It matters and it is harmful.

Chris: I know this random german woman doesn't really know you, but I try to describe what I, as a stranger, really like about you. Because you couldn't name one quality of yourself, i thought you needed that. At first, I like your creativity & your fashion sense. You are inspiring me to just wear what i like and to have more fun with it. Then your humour (maybe it is not a big compliment coming from a German... then... I'm sorry, but i really love your sense of humour 😄) Your intelligence, empathy & wisdom. This is what I like the most about you. Some things you said on this podcast are so profound and important to me that i wrote it down to remember it. I think you are a wonderful man. Thank you.

I couldn’t love this show more. At almost 42 with two boys (16 and 9) this show captured what it is to be a woman, mother, daughter, friend etc. It’s just this constantly changing dynamic that we try so hard to make perfect that this show shows us we don’t have to. It is our imperfections that people remember and love. 💖 this show is magic

With the slow burn of uncovering Jacks character development, it was a gift to the audience to make him live longer. It was a treat, I was glad that his death in the timeline did not take away his significance and presence as a character in his family that survives him

I loved the whole episode as always, this series is so amazing that we keep rewatching it and having discussions about it after all this time... And I could talk about a million things, about the fact that Jack and Rebecca believe that they have to solve things by themselves, forgetting that they are a team, Becca's discomfort with her mother, the special guest talking about Kevin and Sloan's relationship, but I would like to say how important it was to hear your response about your insecurities. I recognize myself in this too and it is something that I take to my psychologist, especially about not feeling good enough, thinking that the others around me are good and I am a fraud, and seeing you guys who I think are amazing saying that you also felt that way sometimes... it is comforting in a way that I am not alone, thank you for your honesty.

Rewatching the show along with this podcast is bringing so much joy to my weeks! I initially binge watched the whole show season by season, as soon all episodes were out. Watching it weekly though, I think it’s much easier to process everything (including the crying that comes with it!). Love you, guys! Thank you for doing this!

My parents built our forever home when I was a freshmen in high school. With no friends or family around we weren’t happy. It also burned down while we were in high school. We were all safe but it took a year in a hotel to rebuild. Now it is all four of our real home base. It represents family and love and so many memories. My dad recently passed and he is in every corner. I couldn’t imagine not having it after I was so mad all those years ago for moving. ❤

Whoa. It just dawned on me- this ep made me realize why I resonate with the Pearsons throughout their stories, I feels very much pre house incident life and post incident. My childhood home that my parents built when I was born was foreclosed on when I was 15 in 2008, I’ve subconsciously separated my life into two parts because of this. And I look at my life pre losing the house with rose colored glasses for sure. I’m so taken aback that it’s taken me so long to make this connection in my own life!

“I want him to profess his undying love for Sloane for 3-4 seasons!” That’s exactly how I felt when I first saw this episode. She was my favorite of Kevin’s love interests until late in Season Four. If Sloane had randomly reappeared in Kevin’s life at the end of the series, I would have screamed with happiness, lol

The story with Randall & William gets me so deeply. My Mom wasn’t diagnosed with lung cancer until 2019 but the conversation between those two sure hit home. 😥 Jack does anything he has to for his family, taking one for the team….my husband and I have done that so many times in regards to our children, that hit hard. Always wonderful to hear you all get honest and raw. You are ALL so wonderful 🙏

We moved when I was a freshman in high school. No friends or family around. Now over thirty years later I live with my family five minutes away and it has become everyone’s home. Not each of us and our individual families. The convo about that later between Kevin and Toby was so interesting to me because my brothers are recently married. I’ve been the only married one for 17 years and our dad passed right before my brothers met their spouses. I find myself answering that question on Kevin’s side because we are all family. That house represents it.

Next week I hope y’all talk about how Randell does NOT have the same Birthday as Kevin & Kate. Because later on there’s an episode that shows William’s love story and it’s obviously that he had Randell for a few days BEFORE Randell gets to the hospital l. No one ever acknowledges or talks about how NO ONE knows Randell’s true birthday

Both Mandy and Sterling were correct in the original Pearson House exterior. It was only fully featured ONCE in season 1 and it didn't have a porch AND, instead, it had a stoop with an upstairs balcony. We only saw, what we know now as the Pearson House, a few times in season 2 before the Super Bowl episode, but it feels like we've known that as the only exterior all along.
