Hi Terry , great to see the super yacht Octopus , they were in Durban and i think it is equipped with a helicopter. Captain Cook 80 Durban S.A., sailing the 26 ft Good News 2 , for 30 years and total of 60 years plying the east coast of Africa .fair winds Captain.

Crinan canal will only allow solo through if you hire a pilot and it will cost you 100 quid on top of the canal transit fee. If you need to sort problems, head downwind it will reduce the apparent wind and string on gear
