I went to Mumbai in 1992 . While I took a train from Mumbai, policemen were openly asking for bribe of Rs 5 to arrange a place to sit in the crowded train. So, anyone can guess how HONEST they are in their work. In fact, corrupt police make criminals & when they become out of control, police do encounter & take credit for awards .
